Overview
Travel like the residents of New Orleans did decades ago when you step aboard the historic Natchez steamboat on this Mississippi River cruise. After you depart from Natchez Harbor, listen to entertaining commentary on the sights that pass by as you stroll the expansive deck, enjoy live jazz music in the main dining area, and check out the churning paddle wheel in action. Upgrade to include a lunch buffet.
What to Expect

Choose a morning or afternoon departure time at booking, and then make your way to New Orleans’ French Quarter on the day of your trip to exchange your voucher for tickets at the kiosk at Toulouse Street.

Once on board, explore the historic boat's vintage accents, such as the period decorations and the museum-quality engine room. Stroll the decks to take in the Mississippi River scenery and views of the city of New Orleans passing by. For the journey out, find a seat indoors to listen to live jazz in the main dining area, or opt to sit outside for narration on passing historic sites, such as Chalmette Battlefield. The return journey features music throughout the boat.

If you opt to upgrade to the lunch option, your journey includes a buffet lunch, made up of traditional New Orleans fare.

End up back at your original starting point, with plenty of time left in the day to continue exploring the French Quarter or beyond.

Nice ride on the Mississippi

My wife and I did the afternoon trip in daylight so we could see all of the sights along the shoreline. We did not eat on board as the reviews stated the food was so-so. You can get a lot better food while ashore. The...More

Upriver is quite industrial, with few historical landmarks of note. We go 7 1/2 miles down river and back, which is about as far as our steamboat can travel in the 2 hours. You noted the cold weather so perhaps you didn't make it to...More

Lunch Cruise

We were walking by in the morning and decided to book the lunch cruise. Very nice 2 hour tour on a steam paddle boat. Lunch was served in the middle of the ship and was good for a buffet. Small Jazz band on board played...More

We did not eat on the cruise. We ate a big breakfast and then went on the cruise. We learned some interesting things on the cruise and we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

If you take a meal cruise additional food will be unnecessary, otherwise snacks should be ok.
