    Airboat Adventures
Stop: 2 hours - Admission included
Travel by air-conditioned coach from central New Orleans to the nearby fishing village of Jean Lafitte, named after an 18th-century smuggler. Home to a variety of diverse cultures, this area surrounded by Lousiana bayous has been the site of extensive logging operations, sugar and rice plantations and animal trapping enterprises over the years. Today, the people's simple way of life is a marked contrast to the hustle-bustle of New Orleans. In Jean Lafitte, you can get some snacks (own expense) and check out an albino alligator exhibit before boarding your airboat, a vessel that relies on an aircraft-type propeller mounted on its back to move it forward. Feel the wind in your hair as your move swiftly over the wetlands. Your native boat captain will talk about the history and culture of the area and point out wildlife as you travel. See lots of alligators lurking in the marshes, as well as local birds, raccoons and nutria -- giant river rodents that call the bayous home. Conclude your 4-hour family-friendly escape to the Louisiana wetlands with coach transport back to central New Orleans.

We did this as part of a plantation tour and it was the highlight of our day. Bishop was hilarious and super knowledgeable and we saw more alligators than we could count. Fantastic experience.

Exactly what we were hoping it would be! Our Captain Dylan was very informative and knowledgeable. We got the chance to see several alligators and learn a lot of history about the area. Book your ticket you won't regret it!

What an experience. We chose the bigger airboat but it was great. Our guide Corey was so knowledgeable and had a way with gators. Got to see a bunch. The best part was seeing a 14 foot gator.

Really fun but mean guide
The boat ride was awesome, where else do you get to watch alligators eat swamp crack? The scenery was awesome, but the guide didn’t seem to like his job and chastised a lady on the trip for asking a question.

Buy your own water
Loved our tour and our guide lived on the Bayou his whole life, hunting and whatnot, so he knew so much information and answered every question someone had! But if you add on the shuttle, make sure you bring your own water. We bought some before there, but finished it all on the boat. When we bought some after, our shuttle driver yelled at us saying it was unacceptable even though we were hot as heck. Thanks D, just wanted to stay hydrated and support your business but I’ll know better next time to not spend money there !

Don’t waste your time!
Arrived well ahead of time. Staff told us to gather in wrong location and the bus left without us. Terrible customer service.

T Earl is a crazy guy!
We had a ball with T Earl and learned a lot about the swamp. We saw lots of Gators and beautiful wild life. The love for this land was evident in how our tour guide explained it. Would highly recommend it!

First trip to New Orleans
It was a good trip. There were quit a few gators and the guide got them to come up to the boat by dangling small children over the edge of the boat!!!! Lol. Nah, He used marshmallows. They bus and the boat drivers were very knowledgeable in the area and they chosen vocations.
