Overview
Discover the cultural richness of South Philadelphia without getting lost on this walking tour, a great choice for first-time visitors. Taste your way through the 9th Street Italian Market, take in the sights along South Street, and catch your first glimpse of Isaiah Zagar’s colorful mosaics. Then hop on a public bus to Queen Village and stroll past Fabric Row. Plus, admission to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is included.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at a central location to start your South Philly walking tour. Explore Philadelphia’s charming Bella Vista neighborhood and peruse the delis, bakeries, and food stalls at the 9th Street Italian Market, the nation’s oldest open-air market. Catch your first glimpse of local artist Isaiah Zagar’s murals and recreate a scene from the blockbuster film Rocky.

Then skip the ticket line at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and spend about half an hour exploring the indoor galleries and outdoor mosaic art installation. Learn more about Zagar’s one-of-a-kind mosaics and hear stories about the city’s history.

Next hop on a public bus and ride to the historic Queen Village neighborhood. Wander between narrow city blocks lined with pubs and cafes, and stroll past Fabric Row to see the nation’s largest concentration of fabric shops. Then end your Philadelphia walking tour or keep exploring on your own.
