- christiansmith10 contributionsGreat view with horrible waits!!!!!!!The view of the city and experience was excellent but the queuing was terrible, we booked for a 10am slot got in the elevator for 11am, the queues manned by kids so when people pushed in they just said “I don’t get paid enough” the same for exiting the same for exiting the building 30-45mins to get down the building!!!!!!Written 19 February 2025

The views of NYC are breathtaking, and the creative exhibits, like the balloon room, add so much fun. The elevator ride is an experience on its own! - mayalisp0 contributionsMe, My Twin & My WifeyWe visited with family. A worker working on the 92nd floor came to me and my family and offered to take pictures of me and my son- who looks just like Me! this lady was out of the normal because she approached us as if she was a family member to us. She without hesitation grabbed our phones from our hands and kept snapping away. This has brought me and my family immeasurable gratitude because as tourists we normally don't get this type of customer service-- which was phenomenal. We believe her name is "JACKIE" ? PLEASE TELL HER THANK YOU!!!Written 26 December 2024
- krishna2920 contributionsOne of the Tallest New York Buildings Offering Unbelievable Mesmerizing ExperienceSummit One Vanderbilt Building located close to Grand Central Terminal in New York City is understood to be about 1300 feet or nearly 400 meters high. As a part of 25 member tour we entered the building through the Grand Central terminal that itself is a tourist attraction. There are several elevators to take the people to 90th floor and as I entered the room, I could not believe myself. The walls, floors and roof - all are made of mirrors and standing on the floor we were simply mesmerized, not knowing whether the reflection is from the roof above our head or through the floor below our feet as infinite reflections were observed. Through some glass walls we got panoramic views of New York City and distant Statue of Liberty. We went to next floor and every where we got 360 degrees panoramic views of many skyscrapers of New York, such as, Empire State building, Chrysler Building, United Nations Building etc. Outside views from these top three 3 floors were were just unbelievable and thrilling. In fact, Summit built by Vanderbilt and commissioned in 2021 offers a mind boggling, multi-sensory experience. This building is a blend of art and technology. On the Next floor, we found floating balloons besides their reflections from the level below. A small cafe is also available at this floor offering snacks and beverages. We also found an extended floor coming out of the building and standing on this floor gave us fear of height because we felt there is no floor below our feet. From there we also took a few snaps of street below. We also took a few photographs of the Grand Central terminal.Written 5 December 2024

There was an agent whom approached us inside the balloon room. She just came to us like she was a family member or a friend and just offered an excellent service of taking pictures and making us strike poses. She even sang "Happy Birthday To Me!" How SWEET!! She's EXEMPLARY TALENT OF A LADY!!! AUNTIE JACKIE!!!Written 9 November 2024

- brenm9630 contributionsa must seeThis is a must see while in New York. Bring a camera since you can see New York from an amazing view. There are several high floors (91+)made of glass and mirrors. It's a little hard to find. You have to go into Grand Central Stadion and go down to find the entrance. Tickets are timed, and they do let you in at that time.Written 2 October 2024

- kls230 contributionsFantastic view over 3 floorsThe views were amazing and you could see every direction over 3 floors, well worth the money. The silver balls were fun and everyone enjoyed these. You get covers for your shoes and sunglasses on entry if you need them. It is well organised and guidance is good. It can get very busy in places but you only have to wait a few minutes to take photos if the area is busy. It was well worth the money.Written 25 August 2024

Honestly, it was great from start to finish. Very well organized. Not too many people, I'm not going to tell you that no one but easy to take photos, to see from the windows...about twenty years ago I went to the top of the Empire State Building, really not the same, there a lot more modern, fun...you also spend more time there so you ultimately get what you pay for. I had booked the last slot before the one requiring extra charge because the sun had set and in the end as you can hang around you can see at least the sun go down if not total darkness because you don't want to stay three hours either. And it is clear that to realize that New York is a Sky Tower city you have to go to the top of a building! In short, for me, a must-see for a visit to New York. The children loved it from the little 4 year old (the room with the balloons), to the older ones aged 8 and 12. In summer probably better because as soon as it rains or clouds the show must be very spoiled...

Beautiful view and very well curated experience. you can get the ticket online by booking the access time. In the hours before and after sunset the cost is higher, check the expected time online to make sure that, if you pay more, you can actually see it. You proceed by climbing the three floors dedicated to the exhibition without being able to go back. The proposed photo book is in my opinion a waste of money. The photos are in two precise points, taken from above and you will then be inserted into standard backgrounds that are the same for everyone. An experience to be had at least as a couple if you are also interested in the recreational/photographic aspect.

I’m so glad we chose this experience.
Neither my son or niece had been up a skyscraper so I was a little worried.
But entry was slick. The lift to the top super fast and the experience was the best.
The mirrors, audio and lighting were spectacular.
I would recommend doing what we did and go up about 7pm (summer time) so you get the brightness and day city view and then experience sunset and the lights of Manhattan that follow.
We booked the package with a photo book, digital photos (we got to choose 6) and a cocktail.
At sunset the crowd clapped. Magnificent.
The silver balls and balloons room was great fun and I can honestly say this whole experience was one of my highlights from the trip to NYC.
The room with glass floor dares you to step out which we did and the photo was superb.
Many thanks.

Unfortunately, a little different than imagined. For people who want to upload great photos to Instagram and co, this is certainly the first choice. We (family with children 10 & 17 years old) were looking for a beautiful viewing platform where we can sit nicely in the restaurant at the end and in the sunset and end the day. Unfortunately, the so-called restaurant totally disappointed us. There is a wooden seating area and a few tables and chairs. Every visitor passes through this area and people who bring their own food may also sit in the seating area. It made no sense for us to buy our dinner there and then not have a seat. There are still small drink stalls outside, but it was so windy and cold outside (although there were 20 degrees and sun that day) that we drank our pre-booked cocktail sitting on half a buttock inside quickly and looked for a restaurant nearby. The restaurant as well as the outdoor area is much better on other platforms in New York. The only plus point is the balls room, where you can only stay for 5-10 minutes.

Visited Sunday February 16th 4pm, we had paid extra for sunset but the weather wasn’t great, we were advised of the lack of view and offered chance to rebook, we decided to stick with our tickets and entered the attraction. There was no explanation of what the attraction entails! I feel at the start of the visit when entering the video area, this video should include an explanation of your visit and what happens in each area and level. The rooms were ok, we didn’t enjoy the mirror room, if you suffer from vertigo definitely give this area a miss! The silver ball area was chaotic and rammed full of people, absolutely no crowd control going on in there. We wizzed through up to the bar area were we stood for nearly 5 minutes waiting to be served as the 4 bar staff totally ignored whilst they stood chatting to each other - the worse customer service we’ve ever experienced!! Eventually order a cocktail and beer - cocktail was awful and tiny!! The bar staff team really didn’t deserve their tip today!! Half an hour into our bar visit the clouds started to clear and we managed to see some lovely atmospheric views. One and done attraction - doesn’t live upto the hype, we won’t be returning.

Despite the fact that we greatly enjoy the view from Summit, the whole trip wasn't worth the money. We bought tickets for the Summit Experience that included beverages and sunset, but we had to reschedule our visit for Saturday due to heavy rain on Friday. Despite the flooding and the fact that everything was closed on Friday, the Summit team insisted that we pay a fee to reschedule our visit. Since everyone had to be moved from Friday to Saturday, our tickets were ultimately rescheduled for Saturday, which turned out to be incredibly packed. Although I acknowledge that you cannot control the weather, there are numerous things you can do to enhance the experience for people who paid $200 to stand in queue for an hour.
The balloon-filled room was considerably too packed, and sunset was charged extra starting at 4:30 p.m. when it officially begins at 6:30 p.m. I'm not sure what I paid for since drinks at a bar cost about $20. As I mentioned, the building is beautiful, the view is amazing, and the people in the bar upstairs were all nice and friendly, but the management should do much more. At the very least, they should waive the charge for rescheduling the visit which they couldn't even accommodate.

Couldn’t believe how beautiful the view was from the summit. We booked a 2.30 slot in order to allow plenty of time to pass through security and the time taken to queue for the lift. We watched the sun set and enjoyed the views in the sunny daylight, sunset and the dark. Once dark the experience is completely different it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Photographs were incredible too some of my favourite photos of my partner and I. Definitely add the $15 digital photo pass to your booking when booking your tickets as you can download roughly 22 photos taken by the photographers around the summit. One of the best things I’ve ever done. So glad we booked this attraction. It made our trip

Totally overrated and overcrowded. Despite booking your ticket in advance, you always have to wait an incredibly long time (you should plan at least 1 hour for waiting times alone). On top of that, the ticket QR code is constantly being scanned again, which in my opinion is completely unnecessary and only makes the already endless waiting times even longer. On the floor with the most famous photo spot, things get wild and the employees are very unfriendly and annoyed. All in all, absolutely nothing special - nerve-wracking, exhausting and overpriced.

I spent hours researching which viewing platform to visit (watching numerous youtube videos and pouring over reviews). I lived in NYC for 7 years but left before Summit, Edge and One World observatory were added. I was traveling with my 76 year old mother and 14 year old son. In the end we went with the Summit at 09:00 and the Empire state building at 20:30 on a Sunday. For avoiding crowds these times were absolutely worth it. Many reviews suggested a sunset visit but you have to book at least a week ahead at the Summit for this and we did not want to deal with the crowds or the chance of bad weather. I booked the 09:00 tickets a few days in advance once I checked the forecast several times and felt confident the weather would cooperate. My mother and son both absolutely loved the experience and we felt it was worth every penny. I think if we had gone later in the day the experience would have been nice but having fewer people definitely added to it. I highly recommend the Summit if you are trying to decide between the different options.

This skyscraper was completed in September 2020. Summit One Vanderbilt is an impressive blend of art, technology, architecture, and thrills. The entrance is located beneath the iconic Vanderbilt Avenue. You can access it through the transit hall of the Grand Central Terminal. Alternatively, you can use the doors next to the TD Bank. Summit is not accessible through the main lobby of One Vanderbilt.
A heads-up – for me personally, this building was far too crowded. It was extremely busy. I had expected it to be organized similarly to the Empire State Building, as tickets must be booked in advance, but unfortunately, that was not the case. It was really overcrowded. Still, I want to mention the building here, but I highly recommend coming very early in the morning when there aren’t so many people. The building itself is simply amazing. At the beginning of the tour, there is a short introductory video that immediately captivated me. The three floors that are open to visitors are truly impressive. But don’t forget to bring sunglasses. Since everything is made of glass, the sun can be blindingly strong.
Additionally, I liked the fact that visitors were required to wear shoe covers. This helps keep the building relatively clean with so many visitors.
An important note: A visit to Summit is not suitable for people with epilepsy, as the elevator constantly flashes lights to distract from how quickly you’re moving upward.
