    • The Met is fully wheelchair accessible. However, if you cannot climb the stairs of the central entrance to reach the meeting point, there is a ground level entrance one block south, near the intersection of 81st street and 5th avenue. Tell the desk you need to use the elevator to meet a group in the main lobby (at the pharaoh statue), which will then secure your entrance ticket. They will provide you with a temporary pass and help direct you upstairs.

In such cases, other works from the Egyptian collection will be substituted. Even more rarely, the Met may rent out select rooms for private events in which the same rule of substitution applies.

Do the guided tour and museum and don't just walk the area-so much learned from the tour!!
This was one of our favorite two things we did in NYC. Getting a guided tour was absolutely worth it. We learned so much from Alice our tour guide, that we would have never known if we'd just walked around the area by ourselves. The line for the museum wasn't as long as I expected, but in the heat of July having timed tickets was great for the faster entry. Some don't do the museum and just walk around the plaza/area, but the museum is totally worth it. Not to be missed!

Hidden treasures of grand Central Station
Being a local I had heard this was a great tour to take. Took it on a Saturday rainy afternoon. It was so nice to see a different view of Grand Central Station, and learning all the that went into the construction of this building. I’m always running through the station to get to the street! It was really nice to have a moment to hear more about the history of this magnificent building!

      Worth every penny
John was an amazing guide and went out of his way to connect with each person so he could personalize the tour. The MET is overwhelming and can be tricky to navigate. I was able to see everything I wanted without worrying about trying to find each piece. It was worth every penny!

      Very impressed
I have used Grand Central Station for years and never took time to learn about the history of the station. It was very informative and was so impressed with the construction and especially the new LIRR station below ground . Our tour guide Rick was great . And loved the check in woman I think Zaza. Very welcoming staff. Highly recommend!!!

Phil was knowledgeable and kept us moving. We saw and learned so much. Had we not been with Phil we would not have known how vast the museum. He made it personal too.

      Very Good
The tour was very interesting and the guide clearly knew a lot about the history and stories in both parts of the trip. If there was one criticism it would be that a lot of time was spent hearing this and this reduced the time to see the actual Statue of Liberty and Ellis island museum. A better balance would be good between the two. That being said I would still recommend this informative trip to anyone.

John was our guide. He is local and lives in New Jersey and was passionate about the city- the museum, and the art. He gave us an excellent capsule visit and we were able to see things we would never have been able to see on our own. I would recommend this visit if you are short on time but want to get a brief introduction to this huge and amazing museum.

Our guide Ryan was a fantastic communicator and immediately grabbed the interest of my teenage kids. His stories brought the artefacts to life and he also shared interesting aspects of the history of the MET. He was great at offering to take our photo too. Real value for money.

Highly recommend this tour. You receive interesting information about certain pieces, but also an overview of the entire museum. The length of the tour was perfect. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the construction of the museum and aspects taken from other locations. Katherine was fantastic. Her passion for history and art was apparent and made the tour that much more enjoyable.

Our guide Kyle was terrific, very knowledgeable and gave a really good overview of the Met. We were with two friends who’d not been to the Met, and Kyle gave them an excellent introduction to the entire museum, then helped us find a couple of exhibits to see after the tour. So glad we booked, Kyle did much better job than we ever could.

Charlie was great at teaching us to be New Yorkers and getting us in front of all the artifacts, paintings and important areas of the Met. Great information and funny even at times. Thanks for taking pics for us and thanks for the crocodile story Charlie! 😂

Although the guide was very nice, they talked too much about themselves, and had a lot of rather puerile jokes about genitalia of statues, armour etc.

However the Met is wonderful. 2 hours not enough. I think we could have seen more if there was less talk about their family!

Katie was our tour guide and she really made the experience fun, informative and thought-provoking. She was amazing! We especially enjoyed the Egyptian section and the Impressionist paintings. My daughter also loved the modern and abstract art.

Katie was an amazing tour guide who went above an beyond in an age when I don't experience that often. She had a passion and love for art and added some great humor in the tour. Its hard to experience the met in 2 hours and she did a great job showing and explaining all of the highlights.

Kevin was one of the best tour guides I've ever had for a guided tour in an art gallery or a museum.
He explained the reasoning behind things, the background, the context, etc. He was absolutely excellent!!! Ask for Kevin if you book this guided visit. Teo hours was great for our first visit!

Our tour guide, Charlie, shared a wealth of knowledge. I lived in NYC previously and had visited the Met many times but I learned so much today from Charlie not just about art and artists but also the Met building, and New York and world history. I highly recommend him as a guide.
