- shaker71tom0 contributionsFantastic and memorable visitVisited at sunset. All well organised. No trouble getting in. Staff were friendly, helpful and answered any questions well. The whole visit will last with me for the rest of my life. Unbelievable. Very special. And what views!!Written 12 September 2024
- Petak1000 contributionsNot worth it at allThere are many other viewpoints better than this one and for the price it wasn’t worth it. Pictures from the top aren’t good because there is this type of glass everywhere that after you take a picture you can see a reflection in it. At the entrance they told me that it is mandatory to pose for the photo even after I said that I don’t want to. Just so they can create an edited photo that they will print for you for 30$ in the end of the tour. The queues inside to take an elevator are quite long. So it wasn’t worth it and I had to go to other viewpoints to have good photos.Written 12 September 2024

- jennclar20240 contributionsDowntown Lights!!Views were absolutely spectacular! ESB ticket taker warned us that the nighttime views would be heavily impacted with cloud/fog and offered an exchange on our tickets for another day/time. We rolled the dice and were rewarded with clear, breathtaking panoramic views of NYC at night. So worth it!! Will def return for another experience! It is nit to be missed!Written 12 September 2024

- 20carlt0 contributionsArt deco at its bestA must go to. We went early and i think this is the thing to do. We booked for 11 and we went in at 10.30. Iconic! don't just look out look in, at the décor. Art deco at its bestWritten 11 September 2024
- MidnightStormx0 contributionsWOW at that view!!Well what can I say... the views... WOW. We went on a cloudy morning and it was still breathtaking. We went at 11am and we didn't find it too busy. We were easily able to get to the edge which I can hear can be quite tricky during popular times. If your in NYC, this should be at the top of the bucket list!Written 8 September 2024
- Steve0270 contributionsProviding iconic views of NYCWe visited the ESB on our family holiday in mid August 24. We were hoping for an visit around midday and on entrance we found the queues were light and as we had passes from GoCity, we were shown to the booking booths to get our tickets . Here is where the “fun” started, but also where the ESB staff excelled. Due to a mess up at GoCity, 2 of the 4 passes I had, had somehow been used at the ESB the week before I was even in the US! So my family could not all gain access. Sharon B who was in the ticket office offered to call GoCity on their phone to try and resolve the issue. We then spent 2 hours on the phone trying to resolve. She was very much on my side in her conversations and although I did not get my issue with GoCity resolved then, the ESB very kindly allowed us in. The building itself is a lovely Art Deco structure, the exhibits as you walk through too the lifts are informative, taking you through the life of the building from it being the site of a hotel to how it was built, and how it has been used since. One tip, if you don’t want a photo with King Kong, keep left coming out of the section showing films that have used the building. The lifts to the observation deck are very smooth and quick. Other than my ears feeling the change, you wouldn’t know you were moving. As you would expect, the views all around New York are spectacular. Take your time, and be prepared to wait a little to get the lift to the outside deck. We did not go up to the highest level, so can’t pass comment on what is up there. We came back a few days later as GoCity had finally resolved our issue and did a night visit, which was equally spectacular wit h the view, but I was glad we did a day viewing as well as you had a better idea If what you could see. In summary, well worth the visit' and thank you again, Sharon!Written 8 September 2024
- delfinacuario20000 contributionsThe views the views the views ... and King Kong!!!I visited in 1986 and back in 2024. I did not want to visit during my previous trips to NY thinking that it was overpriced... Happy to say I was so wrong! The money spent in the ticket is 100% worth it! I was under the impression that it was overpriced as it was only a visit to the open terrace, but Nope, there is much more than that, apart from the fact that it´s already amazing to be there, as is one of the most famous turist spots in the city. There is museum, various rooms with different showings, there is King Kong, there is the 86th floor terrace, they take photos and they are not even that expensive. The views take your breath away of course and you cannot stop taking photos. There is a nice shop as well with super cute and not expensive stuff to buy. I will be back next time to compensate all the times I was in NY and did not go!Written 3 September 2024

Be wary of booking tickets online for The Empire State Building. Whilst you would imagine booking online on the official website would be safe and hassle free this was not my experience. My credit card was double charged and the hoops I am still having to jump through to be refunded are ridiculous.
After completing an online form that had “Double Charges” as a drop-down option, suggesting it may not be a rare occurrence, I sent them all the details they would require to speedily deal with the situation.
Days later I receive a reply asking for the same information that I had already submitted. After sending the information again, no reply. Another email to chase up the matter, no reply.
On the day of my visit I spoke to someone in charge at the building by the name of Angelo who confirmed I had been waiting far too long for the refund. He asked me to submit the claim form again and to quote his name so that he could get involved.
3 days later a terse reply telling me “this process can take sometime.” I replied asking why it would take over 2 weeks to process a simple refund and why Angelo himself had confirmed it was taking too long if that was the case, also requesting a timescale of when the situation would be resolved. Days later, no reply.
I am being left with no option but to contact my credit card company to initiate an investigation and the entire situation has completely ruined what is advertised as a once in a lifetime experience. At least the view was good I guess, but I’d advise buying tickets in person so any issue can be resolved immediately.

ESB was included with our pass, but we were looking for something a little more special. So, we decided to go for the upgrade and visit and dawn. That decision led to the best experience of our New York visit.
Yes, we have all climbed tall things at marveled at the sights that could be seen, but being in the clouds at dawn is something that is difficult to describe in large part because it was so unexpected. Instead of forcing you to read a lot of extra words, I’ll make a list instead:
1) The air is clear because it hasn’t had all day to absorb the pollution;
2) The city is actually quiet (as quiet as New York can be);
3) The crowd was more than 40, so now elbows needed to be shoved into ribs;
4) The service was excellent; and
5) The silhouette of ESB on the nearby clouds? Just, wow!

This is simply iconic. Even though the weather wasn’t great we still saw the incredible Manhattan skyline lights and the dawn light spread across the city. You’re at the top of one of the most incredible art deco buildings ever built, what’s not to like? Do it!

Empire State Building is one of the iconic buildings of Manhattan. It has an amazing view. Wandering among the gigantic skyscrapers of Manhattan, it reminds us how small a place one occupies in this world. This building gives different feeling. Also when I looked to city, I was listening Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind Part 2

The Empire State Building tour was amazing at sunset. The views from the 86th floor are incredible, and they really allow you to take in the size of the city. My only complaint is that much of the tour was shoulder-to-shoulder packed, but perhaps that is part of the experience while in New York City.

Had a great experience at the Empire State Building sun rise experience. They allow you lots of time at the top and we were also provided with a hot drink and pastry. If you hate the crowds this is the best way to do it but it is on the expensive side as for 2 people it was £240

One of our favorite things we did in NYC. The sunrise at ESP is worth every penny. VIP treatment from the time you walk in. The people who work there were wonderful! You are there before it’s open to the public with maybe 20 other people so you don’t have people on top of you or fighting for views. Elevator up to the observation deck. Starbucks coffee with the option to purchase a pastry. The pictures you get will make you feel like a professional photographer. The views are breathtaking. Afterwards get a few minutes in the museum. This was very cool and a nice surprise. Can’t recommend enough! Only thing I would change is the gift shop isn’t open so you have to come back later in the day and go through security and all that all over again to spend money there.

I had a 6 hour stopover at NYC, coming from Nashville heading towards Singapore.
Getting the express pass is a good idea as one will skip the long queues. The view is spectacular and the staff on duty were very helpful - plus had a great sense of humour. The experience will definitely be long remembered! As such, the site visit plus a sneak peek at Times Square was just right for me. Awesomeness!

This was surprisingly lovely and wasn’t just a boring building as I had expected! We arrived at one of the first slots of the day and so it wasn’t too busy and we got in quite quickly! When inside there was a great museum section about the history and there were lots of photo opportunities. There was a gallery of movies and shows the building has been in as well. There is actually a King-Kong arm coming in to the building which you can pose with! When we got to the highest point of the building you can go on the views were amazing!! There was a flower wall where we could take photos and it was all lovely. The building is a great family friendly attraction and is actually great!!

If you are at New York City even one day, you should see the whole city from the 86th floor. The tickets are changed in line with the floors. The most expensive one is 102nd floor. I bought regular one with 54$ which has museum, 80th and 86th floor observation. But it was worth it. The scene was magnificent because of the time. I observed at around 5 pm. So I can see the sunset. Additionally, it was frizzing on March.
