This walking tour of New York City’s East Village was created with music lovers and pop culture junkies in mind. Learn the history of NYC rock, punk, and glam from your guide as you stroll the neighborhood’s storied streets. Visit spots that shaped rock culture and where bands such as the Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop, the Ramones, the New York Dolls played, lived and wrote.

What to Expect

Meet your guide and start your rock ‘n’ roll walking tour in Manhattan’s historic Lower East Side (or Greenwich Village if you selected that option at checkout). As you walk, you learn where rock, punk, and glam legends played gigs, lived, shopped, and shot album art.

During this tour, your guide walks you through music history. See where Andy Warhol, Madonna, Joey Ramone, and Iggy Pop once lived. Check out St. Mark’s Hotel and the iconic punk rock clothing shop Trash and Vaudeville. Pay tribute to the birthplace of New York City’s rock, punk, and folk music scenes at CBGB.

Many of these East Village locations have changed, with some, such as the Fillmore East, only being in existence for a short time, but their storied history remains. Your guide brings NYC to life as you walk the streets.

The tour ends at the original departure point.
