- C W0 contributionsDown and Dirty! It won’t be the same riding anywhere else. You have shade in the summer, mud, mountain climbing and a stop with a beautiful view. I imagine this would be quite spectacular in the fall as well when the leaves are changing. If you’re looking for a reason to get muddy and have some fun this is the place. Josh was an awesome guide and my 3 sons and I had a fantastic time! Left wanting more after the 2.5 hour ATV ride.Written 8 August 2024
- mkstaats0 contributionsSide by side through the mountainsJacob and the team are amazing. Don't think anymore about it, just book it. Also, not going to ruin the surprise, but there is one spot on the trip that is not a place to miss. One of a kind.Written 30 July 2024

- FloridaGatortravels0 contributionsFun experience! We had a great time out on the ATVs. Emma was a wonderful guide who was patient with us as we learned the ropes of riding. The ride is mostly shaded, which is nice, but takes you out to a beautiful overlook for a break. We even saw a mother deer and fawn during the ride.Written 8 June 2024
- G7118KXjanetw0 contributionsGreat Trip! This was my second ATV trip with New River ATV. It exceeded my expectations. Esther was a fabulous guide. - reneetO1227BU0 contributionsATV TourJen was an amazing guide for our ATV tour! It was our first time on ATVs, and she made us both feel super comfortable. We appreciated that she made regular stops along the way to check in with how we were feeling and gave us options of different routes to take. She did a great job at adjusting the route based on what we wanted to do, whether it was taking a steeper path or going through more mud holes. She also took great photos and videos at multiple points throughout! Thank you for a great time!!Written 27 May 2024
- Jeff H0 contributionsGreat TimeWe had a great time on our first ATV experience. Esther, our guide, was excellent and took us on a good ride. She took good care of our mom, who was very nervous, which made everything much better. We wouldld love to go back and do it again on a more challenging trail.Written 22 May 2024

- Susan B0 contributionsWet, muddy and the best time!So much fun!! I would definitely repeat and absolutely recommend New River ATV. My friend and I went this morning in the pouring rain! We got wet and muddy and I loved it! We are pretty much beginners, our guide Josh thoroughly went through running the vehicles and we were very comfortable operating the ATVs. Lots of puddles and mud enroute to our destination overlooking New River Gorge. Josh is very experienced outfitter and knowledgeable of the River and gorge area! Touché New River ATV.Written 12 April 2024

Be prepared to be in a Jeep for 95% of the time off road and not really on New River Gorge trails, but on backwoods.

Hi Theresa,
We take our customer service and guest experience very seriously. We are sorry that you had expectations for your Jeep tour that were pretty far off from what our Jeep tour is. As your tour was gifted to you, we understand you might not have fully understood what the tour encompassed. We aren’t sure why, but it seems you thought there would be a good amount of hiking involved.
Our Jeep tour is advertised as covering approximately 75 miles of country roads, maintained and unmaintained dirt roads, and challenging Jeep spots while crossing the New River Gorge from rim to rim twice with views ranging from mountaintop overlooks to the river valleys of the National Park. We advertise stops in a ghost town, at waterfalls, at coal mining ruins, and learning the history of the area. Nowhere do we advertise any notable amount of hiking or anything you would have expected outside of our tour description.
You are in the National Park boundaries for 80% of the off-pavement section of the tour. Part of the allure of this tour is being able to go to places in the park that our guests wouldn’t be able to access on their own.
As it is a Jeep tour, there is a lot of driving which is why we have walkie-talkies in the Jeeps so your guide can be in consistent communication with you and share aspects of the area with you as you drive in between stops.
Reviews such as the ones you’ve left us – now over multiple platforms - really hurt our small business as your expectations not being met aren’t based on the expectations we set for the tour.
We’re sorry you didn’t get the experience you were expecting, but please realize that it was because you were expecting an experience that is different from what we advertised.
