Full Day Sailing in the Bay of Islands
Spend a day cruising through the Bay of Islands aboard a deluxe sailboat that sets sail from Russell. Your captain stops at a picturesque island where you have lunch, and time to snorkel, kayak, swim, and walk to a lookout point. Cruise over to The Black Rocks for photo ops of the volcanic formation, keep an eye out for marine life, and hear commentary from your captain about the region.
What to Expect
Begin your departure by setting sail from Russell wharf at 10am. There are a plethora of islands to choose from for this excursion.
  • Sail to one of the many islands and looking out for marine life
  • 12pm arrive to one of the many islands for lunch(included in price) smoked chicken or vegetarian option available
  • Snorkel, kayak and swimming available during our lunch time stopover
  • Walking up to one of the view points that allow panorama views of the many islands
  • 1:30pm depart island and set sail to the volcanic rock formation named The Black Rocks
  • Sail back to Russell and spotting marine life
  • Return 4pm Russell wharf
As sailing is very reliant on the weather conditions, this schedule is only to give an idea of how the day is planned. Each day is different and we visit different islands according the the wind strength and direction.

A fantastic day in the Bay of Islands

We had a great day out with Nik and Nat. Nothing was a problem and their knowledge of the area was comprehensive. Although not enough wind to sail properly, it was a very relaxing day. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic day on the Bay of Islands aboard Vigilant. Only 9 people on board. There was a light breeze in the morning that allowed us to set the sails. Nick and Nat found a quiet and protected beach to drop the anchor....More
