Itinerary
Your Charleston food tour meets on Anson Street at Bulldog Tours. Check in and meet your guide and group before heading out into the city on foot.

Learn about how South Carolina’s food scene has changed over the years, and get a feeling for its current status as you pop into local eateries and bakeries. Stop by popular markets where locals like to snag a bite to eat, and taste samples of some of the best examples of Charleston food.

Expect to try foods like stone-ground grits, pralines, collard greens, South Carolina barbecue, benne wafers, gourmet chocolate, and Southern seafood. The tastings on this tour qualify as a meal for most travelers, saving you the hassle of figuring out where to eat. You can also purchase alcoholic beverages along the way at your own expense.

Great tour

Franny was excellent. She told us great history of the city and food in Charleston. This was the highlight of our trip to Charleston. The food was excellent also. This seems like the tour company to go on all tours. We took a ghost tour...More

If you only have 1 day to spend in Charleston you must book Savor the Flavors of Charleston! We did the Market & Horse Carriage ride earlier, but this was a highlight of the trip. Book your tour with Franny Russell if you can. She...More

Enjoyed the variety of food presented and the portion size. Recommend doing the 10 AM tour since this was more than a lunch replacement and otherwise you would have to give up a dinner out. Enjoyed grits, jumbalaya, pork sliders, some type of fritter with...More

This walking tour we walked on uneven pavement, cobblestone roads, cracked/broken sidewalks with granite stone curbs. In addition, even though we were in a group, there were a lot other tourists walking on narrow sidewalks... More

We stopped at a candy shop and had pecans. I can’t say that the kitchens at the restaurants we stopped at we’re free of those listed nuts.

I don’t believe so, since there are set foods at each restaurant we stopped at. You do not order from the menu. Some of the items we had were cornbread, hush puppies, sliders, and fried green tomatoes. Hope this helps.
