Overview
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Old Charleston City Jail, which housed some of Charleston’s most infamous criminals, 19th-century pirates, and Civil War prisoners. The Old City Jail was in operation from 1802 until 1939, and most of the building’s original structures like the cells and warden’s quarters still remain intact.
Highlights
  • Explore the Old Charleston Jail at night—one of the only night tours offered
  • Get the historical rundown starting at the day the jail was built in 1802
  • Hear about ghosts that supposedly haunt the halls from your guide
  • Choose from multiple tour times to best fit your schedule
What to Expect
Meet for this guided tour at the Old Charleston City Jail, and get ready to explore its haunted jail cells. Since it will be nighttime, prepare to get even more spooked. As you walk the hallways, your guide will tell you all about the city’s most famous criminals who lived and died there. You’ll enter the actual cells that held notorious prisoners, such as Lavinia and John Fisher. See if you can catch sight of Lavinia’s ghost, who has been said to still haunt the halls. Some tourgoers have claimed they’ve seen objects move on their own. Your tour ends back at the entrance of the prison with plenty of time to go out afterward to recover from your eerie adventure.

We’ve went on several tours with Bulldog and all have been great. Bruce was our guide on this one and he was very interesting and knowledgeable. Our 9 year old son was a bit freaked out when we finished. Haha! Highly recommend these tours!

Probably not, honestly I wouldn’t want to. You should watch a Ouija Board session on Pleasing Terrors Facebook page. Crazy things happen there!
