10:00am Historic Walking Tour
Discover the essentials of historic Charleston on this approximately 2 hour walk through the downtown historic district. A wonderful introduction to the "Holy City". This tour departs at 10:00 am.
Without a guided tour, you’re likely to miss the tales from Charleston’s rich 400-year history that make this city one of the top destinations in the United States. A guide brings the Holy City to life by pointing out the buildings, monuments, and other historic attractions that mark Charleston’s development from an early colonial settlement to the thriving hub of Southern culture that it is today.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in downtown Charleston to begin your walking tour. Starting at the Four Corners of Law, stroll down cobbled alleyways and past pastel-colored buildings populating the historic core of the city.

Pass top sights such as St. Philip’s Church, White Point Gardens, Dock Street Theatre, and the Battery as your guide provides information about Charleston’s colorful history as one of the earliest cities in the United States, its role in the Civil War, and its recent revival. Plenty of stops for photos and questions help you make the most of your tour.

Thanks to Charleston’s small size, two hours is just enough to see the historic district’s top attractions, leaving you free to explore the rest of the day on your own.

My experience was that most of the tour is outside and hot...very little shade for the pups. Also, you would miss a lot of the architectural details and history inside the buildings as the dogs are not allowed. Check with... More

It might depend on the guide but I would definitely call it a leisurely pace without a lot of hills or steps. We are 69 and 75 and I have some hip issues but I had no problem with this 2 hour walk.
