Overview
Go rafting on the Lower Yough for a thrilling outdoors experience in Ohiopyle. Located about one hour south of Pittsburgh, Ohiopyle State Park is home to the Youghiogheny River, which has class 2-4 rapids on this 7.5-mile (12-km) trip. Your guide shares instruction on paddling and provides all the necessary gear. You’ll stop about halfway for a picnic lunch on the river.
What to Expect
Meet for check in at your reserved time. Guests may rent wetsuits if they prefer and will receive their life jackets at this time. After check in guests will proceed to the river launch area where they will receive an orientation on paddling and safety points. You will launch approximately 1-hour after check in. From there you will raft down the river accompanied by your professional guide staff (not in the raft with you).  Everyone on the tour will pull off to the side of the river before each major rapid and receive instruction on how to complete the rapid. Rafts will then proceed through the rapid one raft at a time. After completing the rapid, everyone will be instructed to pull off to the side of the river until every raft has traveled through. The groups will then continue downstream to the next set up area. A sack lunch will be served mid-way downstream and transportation will be provided back to the check in area. Trips have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 80 people.

Awesome time on the Lower Yough

Jud, Zack and Dan were the best guides! Thanks guys for a great time. We have rafted on many rivers and the Lower Yough is always one of our favorites. Best time to go is during the week - the river is not as crowded.

Sunday Funday!

My family (all adults) did the guided tour on the lower. We had a raft for 5 people then two single ‘duckie’ boats and traded off and on who was in what. Super fun day with the fam!! Guides were helpful, informative, and funny.

Thank Mary M

We simply followed the boat with the guide in and were fine. Water level is so high it’s pretty forgiving. We made plenty mistakes and got away with it.
