Upper Yough: We did the Upper Yough last year (August 2023), excited for a more advanced/heightened experience compared to what we have done at New River Gorge in WV...don't know that we will return. At the second rapid, our entire raft got flipped upside down, immediately I lost trust in the guide, as going into the rapid, even I could tell what we should be avoiding (the large rock to our right) and he aimed the corner right for it and never steered away, causing us to flip. We fell out of the boat a total of 3 times that day, and our guide fell out 4 times (yes, we were all stranded in the boat without a guide, stuck on a rock). Other rafts in our group also flipped many times (not as many as ours). Throughout the entire trip, my husband and I never felt safe, and were always on edge- to the point we really did not enjoy ourselves. We felt, compared to other rafting trips we've done, these guides just were not as prepared and were kind of "winging it," which is not preferred in fast moving water like that. We also did quite a bit of just floating, and not a lot of time in rapids. You may get lucky and have a good experience (based on other reviews) but be warned, definitely not the case for all. Lower Yough: Our friends on the lower had a great time and said they had no issues.

Everything was well done…But Jay was amazing! Lovely young lady with skills and a great personality!!! My family of 6 had a great experience, it was the highlight of our trip to Ohio Pyle…

The tour was great. We did the lower Yough white water rafting tour with JD as our guide. JD was very informative and entertaining. He seemed very knowledgeable about the area and very good at guiding our raft safely. If I had any complaint it would be about my sore behind. Couldn't you put some cushions on the raft?? Just kidding, I know that's not possible. Or, is it?? LOL I would love, however, if there were more photographers stationed at different points down the river to capture the scenery as well. Or even a photographer taking pictures of our group before we headed down the river. The pictures that were taken were awesome!

Leo was amazing!!! Led is “Lovely Ladies” safely through the rapids. He’s very encouraging and easy to connect with. We hope you take to heart what we shared with you!

Leo was a great guide! He communicated about what to expect and how to respond. He was super chill, yet engaging in conversation and knowledgeable about the raft and river. The water was lower than normal, so it was a good balance of fun and "calm". We had time to swim and jump off the rock. Leo made us feel comfortable and safe. We wished he had a Venmo for a better tip bc we didn't have an adequate tip! Thanks, Leo!!!

Our family was part of a big group celebrating our friend’s 50th birthday. Our family included 2 adults, 3 kids ages 11 and 13. My boyfriend and I have been down this stretch of river several times before, with and without guides, and I will say that with Neal as our guide it was by far the best experience we’ve had. He judged each rapid perfectly, communicated directions clearly and decisively, and we had no difficulty getting into bad situations that we’ve gotten into before when not going with a guide. No-one even fell out! He was friendly and knowledgeable as well and was able to give us insights we’d never heard before about the area and the river. If you are considering rafting but wondering if you should get a guide, definitely go for the in-boat guide. The other guides with our group were also fantastic and did so much to ensure the safety and good experience of everyone in our party. Cleatus was the head guide for our party and was excellent as well. He gave us our safety orientation and drove us all back with lots of great info on hikes and history of the area. We felt very well taken care of!

Amazing! We had a larger group of 15 guys go for a bachelor trip. The team here was great! They set us up perfectly, answered all our questions and the best part got us out and rafting! Our guide Gabe was phenomenal!! I can not say enough good things about him. He was super knowledgeable about the river made sure we stayed safe and shared a good number of laughs with us. We were a very novice group but that was no problem for the guides on our trip. We cant stop talking about the experience and are already planning to come back.

Good place to take a river trip. Very friendly people that gave great service. The middle Yough is a easy float with mild rapids.

White Water Adventures was a great place to book for white water rafting. Angela was knowledgeable and friendly. Our family enjoyed the entire day! Will definitely use them again.

This was my first time rafting and I am afraid of water. Our guide, Lucas was amazing!! He was super reassuring and I had the very best time!!

The rafting trip with White Water Adventures was amazing. Justin was our guide, and Noah and Lucas guided other boats and they worked as an amazing team to keep the journey fun, and safe for everyone! Our family ranged from age 11 to 68 and everyone had a blast and our guide expertly navigated us so no one fell out and we never got stuck. We had so much fun. There are very calm points of the journey and we stopped at a small beach area to drink some water and there is a spot to jump off a 15-ft rock into deep water. We love this experience and this guide and group and would certainly recommend it to others! There is a dam that releases water to guarantee fun; and there are more people and higher water level on weekends. We did the tour on the last Monday in August and the town was quiet, there were not many other rafts, and we had an amazing time! Can't recommend our guides enough - they made the whole trip fun and easy!

We had a wonderful time! I've been whitewater rafting all over the world and this is my tenth time going in total. I had a wonderful time with Noah--learning all about all sorts of things, including: guiding, reading the river, the history and geography of the area, his interesting life, and of course, all about John Mitchell's Watergate and other raft guide appropriate Dad jokes. I'd highly recommend this trip and him as a guide, and will go back to do the Upper Yough tour!
