- katies_travel_love0 contributionsA once in a lifetime experience with an amazing tourguide-team!I had a truly uniqe day thanks to the amazing team at Kings Ningaloo Reef Tours! They were all so kind, fun and for them the participants' safety was above everything so I felt really safe on the whole trip. The team that went for a swim with us were all educated marine biologists which made it even more special because we got so many detailed information on the marine wildlife that we saw! Also the food on the trip was really really good. The best part however was that we were lucky enough to see the whale sharks and got to swim with them. We even spotted humpback whales in the distance too. It was truly an amazing day and I can only recommend Kings Ningaloo Reef Tours to everyone who visits Exmouth and wants to have a once in a lifetime experience!!! THANKS for this amazing day to the whole team!Written 27 September 2023

Lives up to what was promised. The combination of brilliant, caring and professional staff with competence in getting us into the water to see the whale shark and humpback whale made the day one of the best in my life. - Y1620VStraceyr0 contributionsExpectations all met with Kings Ningaloo Reef Tours ExmouthReliable pickup. Chloe our tour guide (marine biologist) was very informative on the tour bus and throughout the marine tour. The crew went above and beyond taking care of us throughout the entire day. The snorkeling part of the tour over the living coral reef were colourful and spectacular with a large amount of sea life. The humpback whales put on a display far beyond any expectations. The pinnacle of the tour was swimming with a whale shark, which will remain in our hearts and soles forever. The lunch was an absolute smorgasbord. The tour completed with another snorkel across the reef inside the lagoon. One of the most sensational experiences we've ever had in our lives. Thank you to all the Crew at Kings.Written 18 September 2023
- ianw7440 contributionsA special day of watching the wildlife on and visiting Ningaloo reefKings Ningaloo work hard to find the marine wildlife and are great fun. A special addition yesterday was their award winning photographer, Brooke Pyke, whose photos of the whales and whale shark, and us, were fantastic. A super special experience.Written 18 September 2023
- 294jasmineb0 contributionsWhat an incredible experience! Totally magical. This was a dream come true to swim with the whale sharks with my children and it didn't disappoint, what breathtaking creatures. But the crew made it extra special too with their enthusiasm, great knowledge of the sea creatures we say - and we snorkeled with many! Including manta rays, banjo head sharks, sting rays just magical. And the meals on board were so yummy - couldn't believe we were at sea and ate so well. Unforgettable experience would highly recommend.Written 17 September 2023

- myrtheq0 contributionsMost awesome thing I've ever doneThe tour was amazing! We did the eco tour. Ofcourse it depends on the wild life what you will see, but we got to swim with a humpback whale and whale sharks. We also saw some dolphins in the water! The crew was awesome, energetic, helpful and was speaking very passionate about the Ningaloo Reef. We were on the boat with 21 people, so a small group. The food was good. They also had an airplane to spot the wild life. And they give you free photos of high quality!Written 14 September 2023

Today we were privileged to tour with Kingsreef on the Ningaloo Reef off Exmouth. We swam with 5 Whalesharks, snorkeled with turtles, black-tip reef sharks, a big ol groper, all the corals and fish, went Dugong spotting (I have never seen one in the wild) then after all that, we were treated to a Minke Whale close encounter 😍.
I could not recommended Bill's team any more. They are skillful, engaging, educational and welcoming and we felt the love they bring to what they do. We are super grateful for the once in a lifetime experience. We noticed the lengths the team went to that ensured less skilled swimmers were cared for and felt comfortable.
Could not believe how much we got for our monies worth: a beautiful boat, all equipment, highly skilled team who made us feel super safe, easy transport pick up and drop off, shark spotter in the sky, incredible lunch and snacks all throughout the day on top of what we were already receiving doing the tour.

An amazing day, the crew and guides were knowledgeable, friendly and energetic making the tour enjoyable and an experience we will never forget. Don’t bring food or drinks it was brilliantly catered for including food allergies. My son was sea sick but they gave him privacy when he was being ill, next time I’ll give him something for sea motion. Thanks for a fantastic day !!

I highly recommend the Kings crew if you are looking to have the best diving experience in Exmouth! Diving with the whale sharks has always been on my "bucket list" and i would not hesitate in recommending Bill, Kelsi and the wonderful crew of the Kings Ningaloo tours, as they are professional, passionate, knowledgeable, caring and all round wonderful people. The staff took into consideration the different levels of abilities of each customer and ensured everyone enjoyed their experience, the staff went over and above their duties to make this day as memorable as possible for everyone, The vessel is so spacious, stable and extremely comfortable and the constant flow of food and beverages was so delicious and yummy. Kelsi took fabulous photos throughout the day "in and out "of the water and presented us with these without any further cost.
Thanks guys or making my "bucket list" whale shark dive (actually -5 separate dives on that day) the best experience and one to be forever etched in my memory

We took the whale shark tour on 4th April 2021 and were lucky with the weather which was perfect. The team was made up of 5 crew including the skipper, Dan, Jes, Jade and Livs whom were absolutely fantastic. We had 6 swims with the Whale Sharks and 2 reef snorkels. The team were totally professional, safe, caring and considerate because not everyone including my wife were competent strong swimmers. So Jes took her under her wing with float each time and she had an amazing experience as did all the snorkelers. Jes was our photographers so you don't really need to take a camera and all the girls are so knowledgeable, well qualified and friendly. We had a fantastic lunch prepared fresh onboard and the skipper's boat positioning was so accurate each time we just hopped off the back of the boat and were ready and waiting for the Whale Sharks to pass by. The Whale Sharks are the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen close up and the team are the most beautiful people looking after them. Well done all I can't recommend this trip enough we will be back (My wife with a new toenail !)

We had an amazing time on our snorkelling tour. The staff were exceptional and exceeded our expectations! We saw about 5 whale sharks, dolphins, manta rays and many many humpback whales. Not to mention how lovely was the lunch! Cold and hot food that was hard to believe they prepared on a boat, tasted like were sitting in a restaurant on a beach! Everyone of the crew members were unbelievably passionate about their jobs and marine life! They told us everything they knew about marine wildlife and answered many of our questions. I would recommend this to everyone you have no old. Special mentions to Shay, Anna and Jess (photographer/ bus driver/ all round legend).

Jess will love that compliment, as will the whole crew. We want all our passengers to feel like royalty so little touches like warm food on a winters day hopefully add a little something to your overall experience. We're very lucky to have a chef onboard so the lunch is quite often the second most praised aspect of the tour after the Whale shark encounter of course.

This was a truly incredible experience. The Kings crew did an amazing job to make sure that we had the best possible experience with the Ningaloo Whale Sharks. We were collected from our hotel around 7.10 and taken to the Tantabiddi Boat Harbour which is a 30 minute drive from Exmouth. From the moment we were onboard the 'Magellan', the crew really looked after us. We were kitted out in our wetsuits, masks and snorkels and had a couple of briefings around what to expect for the day. We stopped inside the reef for our first snorkel and we saw lots of great marine life (including a couple of large cow tail sting rays). We then crossed into the outer reef in search of whale sharks. The spotter plane found a 6 metre male who delighted us for almost an hour. We were dropped into the water and picked up at least 8 different times giving us an incredible amount of time to be with these magnificent animals. As the photo package was included in the price - it meant everyone got to take home a complete package of photos of the day (which is definitely worth the money) Noush did an amazing job to ensure everyone had their own photo with the whale shark. On the way back into the Boat harbour - we spotted a pod of 8 humpback whales on a 'heat run' so that was incredible to watch. A quick stop at the outer reef for a last snorkel saw us encounter a bronze whaler as well. All in all it was a fabulous day - the crew, the boat, the whale sharks, the reef and the food was all amazing. We did a whale shark swim the day before with another company (which was also fab) but the Kings experience was our favourite.

It was a fabulous experience for the whole family, Dad, Mum and kids 13 and 15. We got to swim twice with a whale shark. Bill the captain was very experienced and he really wanted to share his love of the ocean and went the extra mile, going out again, once moored to see some rare wildlife (false killer whales). The crew were also great. We were busy all day snorkeling and saw so much wildlife and even the local surfers.
Expensive tour, but if it’s on your bucket list, encourage you to do it with Kings!

Thank you for your review. Such a rare sighting of false killer whales, how could we not go out to see them? You know the crew are passionate about what they do when they are just as excited as our passengers to see wildlife like this.

We had an unforgettable experience swimming with whalesharks with Kings. All staff was very friendly and helpful, explaining everything in detail, both when booking the tickets and during the day itself. We had a morning and afternoon snorkel in the Ningaloo reef, swam with a turtle and saw a beautiful jellyfish and the lunch was both healthy and delicious. But the highlight of course was going on many swims with the whalesharks!

Had a great day with Jade, Allana and the rest of the crew. Around 10 snorkel sessions with the whale sharks, plus the snorkelling before and after the big boys or girls (whale sharks) was great too. Casual atmosphere and safety for those on board who were anxious was well looked after and made to feel safe. Was simply a great day worth every dollar. Highly recommend to people of all abilities. Great photos provided at no charge also.

There are not enough superlatives to adequately describe the complete experience with King's and their staff and crew. They were all professional and so full of exuberance and knowledge. The size of the whale shark which allowed us such an up close and personal experience was magnificent. Even the colour of the waters was intense. Their photographer captured some magical shots of all present. We will treasure our memories made even more special by this wonderful boat and crew.

How many people does the tour take?
AngieMcGUK

Maximum 20 swimmers, they split the group into two groups of 10 to swim alongside the whale shark. We had 22 people on our tour as 2 were non swimmers. The group is comfortably small and there’s plenty of room on the boat.

Is it best to go in April or May?
The tour operators apparently call it Marvellous May, wind lower, cross over of different marine life in abundance.

No, the whale sharks will be gone by then. But the humpbacks should be there instead. August is another great time to visit Exmouth.
Would i need to know how to swim to do this tour? We'd like to bring our 22 month old with us. Will that be possible if my partner and i took turns swimming with the whale sharks

Hi there, when I booked this day online, it did specify one needed to be a competent swimmer. I did practice in my local pool before leaving for my trip. You are swimming outside the reef in open water. If it is windy and the water choppy, it could be difficult for a non swimmer. The staff stay with those non confident swimmers and provide pool noodles to keep you afloat. If you are on a noodle you probably won't be able to keep up with and swim beside the whale shark. It was an amazing day. Even wearing a life jacket, the 22month old will need to be extremely well supervised. I would not take my young child as I would not expect her to be so confined for a whole day. It also isn't fair on the other passengers who have paid good money for a once in a life time experience. Leave the child on the mainland and have a day together.

Anyone who doesn’t know how to swim, snorkeled with the whale with life vest on? Thanks!

As already outlined you are provided with wetsuit, floaty noodle and can hold onto a line close to the guide.. Probably find it difficult to use snorkel under water . I would contact the company & speak to them. Also lots to see even if you remain on the boat, although the swim with whale shark is the highlight.
