What to Expect
Greet the day bright and early to catch the sunrise from your hot air balloon. Drive yourself to the balloon operator's downtown headquarters, or arrange for pickup at your hotel (additional expense).
Get the opportunity to watch the balloon be inflated before stepping on board; you can help the crew if a hands-on experience appeals to you. Listen to a safety briefing and take off for aerial views of the city, the Sandia Mountains, and the Rio Grande. A hot air balloon experience allows you amazing views without the expense of booking a helicopter or flight tour, and there's no glass between you and the landscape. Listen to your pilot's commentary on the region's cultural, geological, historical, and environmental aspects.
Land after about an hour for a continental breakfast and a glass of sparkling wine and then leave your experience with a commemorative flight certificate in hand.

Since I don't actually work for the Rainbow Ryders balloon company, I can't answer your question with authority. But as an Albuquerque resident, I would ease your concerns by saying that most November mornings in this area are dry, serene and beautiful. So the chances of actually going up in a balloon are quite good -- 90% or better. At dawn it will be cold, so bundle up in several layers for warmth. As the sun moves up into the sky, you'll probably want to take a layer off to remain comfortable.
