Well worth the money - a wonderful experience to share with my son
Extremely professional operation, with great attention to detail. Flying later in the day was the right choice, with wonderful golden light adding to the experience and the beauty of the landscape. Our pilot blended flying and tour-guiding with aplomb.

Great job Maverick - Finally, an adventure that lived up to its billing and far exceeded all of our expectations!
The Sunset Grand Canyon helicopter tour definitely lived up to its billing and was the unanimous highlight of our Vegas trip. Our party of 3 appreciated being picked up in a clean shuttle, being greeted by the very organized Maverick team, the amazing helicopter tour and finally being returned to our hotel. It would be easy to be mesmerized by the beauty of the Grand Canyon itself; however, it was the little things that stood out to us that made the experience so memorable. The professionalism of the staff, the priority on safety (including an AED on location in the Grand Canyon), the level of orchestration and process that was apparent, etc. All of which allowed us to relax and completely enjoy the experience.

Epic views of the Grand Canyon….
The views and the actual experience of the ride to the canyon is epic, there is no doubting that. Maverick aren’t the cheapest company to do this with, but they do keep the fleet of helicopters very well. The best experience is gained from the front seats (there are three for customers) and I would recommend you grab this seat for the first leg of the trip into the canyon as you will get the best experience out of the three legs of the trip. We didn’t get the front seats for the first leg but the pilot confirmed it was the best view and experience from the front. Our pilot - Jordan, was great. Lots of insight into the history of the areas we flew over too. He was friendly and happy to chat with us and answer any questions. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is twofold; 1. They refused to pick us up from the rental villa which was within six mile radius of them as it ‘wasn’t a hotel’. 2. They advertise ‘Champagne’ will be available on the stop over in the canyon. They don’t provide Champagne - it’s sparking wine. There’s a very big difference!! Don’t advertise one thing and deliver another!

          terrible experience with pilot
Dear Maverik Customer Service, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the helicopter tour experience I had with your company in Las Vegas, specifically regarding the conduct of the pilot, David. On September 24, 2024, I participated in your premium tour package, which included a stop at the canyon, a picnic with champagne, and a sunset view. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the unprofessional behavior of the pilot. Firstly, at the beginning of the tour, I was rudely addressed by David when attempting to take a photo in front of the helicopter. He insisted that photos could only be taken in groups, which was not communicated to me beforehand. Secondly, during the refueling stop, while other passengers were taking photos near the helicopter, David again spoke to me in a disrespectful manner, warning me not to touch the aircraft and stating its value in a condescending tone. His words implied that my actions could cause damage, which I found unnecessary and demeaning. The most distressing incident occurred when David confronted me about vaping outdoors. His reaction was aggressive; he shouted and pointed his finger in my face, disregarding my status as a paying customer. Despite my attempt to reason with him, he continued to raise his voice and even threatened to leave me in the desert. While I understand the importance of safety and the pilot's authority, I believe that respect and professionalism should always be maintained, especially towards clients. The manner in which David addressed me was unacceptable and overshadowed what should have been a memorable experience. I am seeking a formal apology from your company and a refund for the tour, as the service provided did not meet the standards promised. I trust that you will address this matter with the seriousness it deserves to ensure no other customers endure a similar experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, Elaine Schoen Minto

          5* Experience
We were picked up promptly from our hotel and transferred to the Maverick holding site prior to take off. We waited for about 1 hour before our pilot collected us. Our pilot was Clint who was super helpful. The flight to the canyon was an amazing experience. Once we landed in the canyon Clint looked after us with snacks, water and sparkling wine before our flight back, refuelling and then a flight down the strip. Sunset happened just after we landed. An amazing experience

          Do it......Just do it.
I can`t praise Maverick highly enough. From start to finish they were professional, helpful, friendly, & went out of their way to make the trip excellent. I`ve flown to the canyon a number of times and always with Maverick. The tours are not cheap, around $600, but they are bucket list material.

          Out of this World
My partner and I booked the Grand Canyon Sunset tour from Las Vegas with Maverick Helicopters, having wanted to visit this natural wonder for many, many years. The booking process through TripAdvisor was fluid and very straight forward and we submitted our details and kept in touch with the company in the days leading up to the trip to ensure we were at the right pick-up location. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the heliport itself was impressively clean, well organised and professionally run. Our pilot went through the health and safety demonstration efficiently and was confident, friendly and happy to answer any questions. He rotated the passengers so that we all had the opportunity to sit up front and get the most incredible views, and his play list was also pretty impressive - Motley Crue, Creedance Clearwater Revival and Arctic Monkeys. The Canyon itself was something to behold, especially as the sun was setting with a glass of champagne in hand. The whole trip was around 2-3 hours in length with 90 minutes spent in the air taking in the most incredible views and learning about the geology and makeup of the landscape. 100% recommend to anyone wanting to experience the Grand Canyon and earn their helicopter wings!

          fun time great sights
The helicopter tour was cool. Our pilot was very nice and made sure everyone enjoyed the flight. Be aware that the flight is quite short, but that’s to be expected at $100 per flight.

Maverick was our big splurge for this Vegas trip. 10/10 would recommend! Our pilot Aaron was great and knowledgeable. Pickup and drop off from our hotel was great. We did the Indian Territory where we landed at the bottom and top. Aaron made sure we rotated seats so everyone got a chance in the front seats. Spend the money and do it!

Absolutely Breathtaking!! Highly recommend. Would go again!!
This was an amazing experience! The views of the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead on the way to the Canyon were exceptional!! The pilot made sure to dip down over the dam so both sides of the copter got the best view. On the way back we circle the Strip. Wow what a view!! If I make it back to Vegas I will book a flight with Maverick again!

Beware where you sit in the helicopter
We took the night helicopter ride over the Las Vegas strip. There were three people sitting in the front with the pilot and three people in the backseat. The people in the front with the exception of the pilot had some difficulty viewing the strip, particularly given that the pilot only takes one trip around the stratosphere on the strip and the person on the right hand side is unable to see the strip at all. The folks sitting in the back of the helicopter, the only person that had any view whatsoever of the strip was the individual sitting directly behind the pilot. Please be aware that if you take this flight to view the strip at night with Maverick helicopters and that you are taking the flight alone and sitting directly behind the pilot! If you don’t do this, you won’t see much of the strip at all.

What fun we all had. A short ride but worth it. Evening has to be best to experience the strip in all it's glory. Well worth the money.

          Highly recommend!
This tour actually brought tears to my eyes because seeing the scenery from the helicopter was so beautiful! It was a lot of money for the tour (we have to pay in Canadian dollars) but it was worth every penny. The pick up at the hotel was easy. The lobby of the "airport" was large and clean. Our pilot was experienced and gave us explanations of what we were seeing along the way. There were 6 passengers and only 2 spots in the front, so they allowed us to rotate. They stop to refuel on the way back so everyone got a chance to sit in the front. This is an unbelievable experience!

We took a day excursion from Las Vegas to the West Rim Skywalk of the Grand Canyon. The shuttle picks you up from your resort on the strip and delivers you back to your resort afterwards. Attentive pilot, Tim outlines some of the landmarks during the flight. We flew over Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. I was nervous that I would develop travel/motion sickness, but I did not !! Ride was very smooth. The only drawback was once we got to the SkyWalk Rim, I felt very "rushed" to quickly go through it and get back to the bus which takes you back to the helicopter. I would have liked more time to explore the general area.

The tour lasted approx 4 1/2 hours from start to finish. The cost was $575 per person. Which includes photos taken at the Skywalk. No food or drink was served.

The whole experience from start to finish ran seamlessly. Transport was bang on time, lounge at airport was amazing and our pilot “Joe” was brilliant. He was very helpful and informative throughout! Could not recommend more if looking to see the Grand Canyon from Vegas. Why spend around 15 hours in a packed coach all day when you can get it all done stress free in 3.5-4hours!

We’ve just returned from a wonderful flight with Mavrick. Picked up from our hotel in an air conditioned bus and a simple check in process got us ready to go.

Our fantastic pilot was Tyler and while we were booked to do the Skywalk tour but due to weather we did the tour to the Canyon base instead. (Our pilot did advise prior to the flight that the Skywalk may be closed and an alternative option available)

Tyler was not only a great pilot, informational but had a great manner and kept us engaged and entertained throughout the journey. He was also full of interesting facts and historical information.

We flew out over the Hoover dam, into the Canyon (with drinks and views) and back down the vegas Strip (via a quick refuel)

Fantastic views all the way, breathtaking! As a family we were able to sit in the front on the way out and in the back on the way home, but felt we had great views both ways. We were in with a lovely group so their was lots of chat and a shared experience.

We were a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 x 12 year old) and would highly recommend this service. It is a well executed, quality tour!

Thanks again to our pilot Tyler who made it a really special (and safe) trip.

This was without doubt one of the best experiences of my life!
We had originally booked a sunset trip with another company, but our flight was cancelled on the day due to bad weather. We only had one day left in Vegas and unfortunately the company couldn't fit us in on a flight the following day, no one's fault as you can't plan for the weather but we were beyond gutted!!
On the off chance, I tried Maverick and spoke to the super helpful Seryne via live chat who got us booked in the following day, not for the sunset flight unfortunately, but we were just really grateful to get a flight at all at such short notice.
Now, I was a little nervous on the day! I was worried that I may get a little travel sick!! But I have to say the experience was incredible from start to finish!
We were picked up from our hotel, and after getting checked in at the terminal, we met our pilot (Wayne or Dwayne - I didn't quite catch his name!) who was so friendly and immediately calmed my nerves!
We shared the helicopter with two other couples, and we all got a chance to sit up front with the pilot!
Take off was just amazing and accompanied by the theme to Mission Impossible, which just seemed to increase the excitement!!
The weather wasn't the best, and we had a bit of rain and even snow along the way, but this really didn't detract from the experience.
Our pilot gave interesting commentary along the way, and we were free to ask questions if we had any. The views over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon are something else from the sky!
We landed on a ridge in the Canyon overlooking the Colorado River, where the views and photo opportunities are just incredible! After a glass of bubbles and some snacks, we were on our way back to Vegas, finishing the trip with a flight over the strip!
The cost of this trip is not cheap but it is totally worth every penny in my opinion. You are in the helicopter for around 90 minutes in total, and the whole experience is just amazing!
Thank you, Maverick, for a fantastic trip.

It may seem like an expensive price tag but it's TOTALLY worth it. Everything went smooth from pickup to our hotel, lift off, and our shuttle back. We originally planned for an earlier date but when I checked the weather 2 days beforehand it looked rainy and foggy. Refund went smoothly and I booked a few days later.

We went right at sunrise and the changing colors with the sky was spectacular. We stayed at Exaclibur so we were picked up 45min before our flight. Our guide was Chris. The ride was smooth like a plane but better and closer views. Its just a little more vibration than a plane. From take off to land back at the airport was just over 2 hours. When you land in the canyon you are there for about 15-20min, with snack offerings and tasty champagne as well as some other beverages. There is no bathroom so just plan for that.
They refuel partway through on the way back so if you haven't got to sit up front by then you can ask then. All six passengers on our craft rotated and got a chance.
I feel like this is better than a bus tour because it's faster and you can reach views where its inaccessible by car and hiking. The landscape while beautiful, we had been satisfied enough by the time we returned. I feel if on a bus we would have been over it after the drive just to get there.
They take a photo of you before departure that they put on a nice plaque for purchase just under $40. There is a cheaper option for half that if you just want the photo. I highly recommend this for bragging rights, time, views, and overall experience. You will not regret spending the money.

Maverick helicopter contacted me 2 days before my mid-day flight to tell me that my flight was cancelled due to a heat advisory. They offered to reschedule me for an evening flight for the following day. I asked the customer service agent if it would also be cancelled because it was forecasted to be even hotter that day. He assured me that the sunset flights would go even if it's hot because the sun is lower in the sky. The company then proceeded to send me a confirmation text on the day of my flight. They didn't arrive at the designated meeting point at the time specified and I called to be told my flight was cancelled yet again. Visiting the grand canyon was one of the major reasons I decided to come to Vegas. Since they gave me the run around and no call/no showed me, I have run out of time to make other plans to get to the canyon on this trip. Please don't book with this company in the summer. It's not like it's never been hot in Vegas in July before. They should know what to expect with Vegas weather and should not have given me the run around. Also, they made me contact trip advisor myself for a refund which is still pending at this time. One last thing, because I was planning on spending almost $3000 on this flight I chose not to spend an extra $1000 to see a show. They have really made my Vegas experience unpleasant. 0 out of 5 stars. Do not recommend.

We are very sorry you were not able to fly and for any inconvenience this may have caused you, Jodi. It is a fine line between temperatures that we can and cannot fly, and weather forecasts are not always accurate. We do our best to make sure that all of our flights are able to fly. Unfortunately the weather is a big factor in allowing us to do so.

Registration at site was efficient and good. Our pilot Brian Stroh did an efficient pre-flight briefing, and off we went, take-off at 9h00.

The flight was quick and informative over Lake Meads and Hoover dam, and not soon after we landed near West Rim for refreshments. My estimate is that we flew maybe 10 minutes in the canyon before we got to the landing point.

Swopped seats and took off over the hills, directly out of the canyon to a refueling stop, swopped seats again and started the journey back to Las Vegas.

Approached the city and lined up alongside the Strip before landing at their heliport, disembarked and we were back in the reception at 11h30.

Those 4 hours passed in 2 1/2 hours! must have skipped some timezones. Maybe that is why it is so expensive.

The experience was great since the time the limo bus picked us up at the hotel we started enjoying the service, our pilot was a young lady who was extremely friendly and professional. We flew over the Grand Cayon a must see and landed and visited the Skywalk with a private tour guide that was provided by Maverick the return trip was just as scenic with the sunset hitting the strip. Highly recommended worth every penny.

This helicopter tour was probably the second most fun thing we’ve ever done as a family, beat only by our day-long hike of The Narrows at Zion National Park.

Maverick is an amazing operation, organized calm and competent which of course boosts confidence for anyone nervous about going up in a helicopter. The facility at the airport is super clean and well stocked with snacks souvenirs etc.

Our pilot Ethan could not have been nicer to our twins who sat upfront with him. His narration on the flight out over Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam was very informative. He answered the many questions my sons asked about flying etc.

The landing zone on the western edge of the canyon is impressive although not quite as breathtaking as spots deeper into the park. We climbed around a bit during our 20 minutes on the ground and got some impressive pictures.

The return flight over the Vegas strip was a blast! An epic experience.

We are happy to hear that you found us organized, attentive, and the experience with us EPIC! Glad to know the twins had a lot of questions on flying, and Ethan provided them with answers. Thank you for flying with us!

This was the only way I was going to get my entire family to go to the Grand Canyon and we were not disappointed. They were very friendly when I called about trips and did not try to oversell anything. We started at their hanger right by the welcome to Las Vegas sign. There were four in my family so we took the back seats to be together but felt that our view was just as good as the front seats. The views over the canyon were awesome and way better than the later views from the rim. Being in the canyon and looking up was great. We first flew over the canyon and then landed down by the river. We spent about 30 minutes looking around and taking pictures. We then flew up to the entrance and checked in. There is a gift shop here and also at eagle point but they don’t seem to carry the same merchandise so if you see something don’t wait to buy it. We had lunch at eagle point overlooking the canyon. The burger was very good but service was a bit slow. If you plan to eat here I’d suggest going straight to the restaurant t to get in front of others getting off the busses. There is only one place to look at eagle point and I thought Guano point was a much better and prettier view with more to look at. Guano point is the second stop so don’t waste all your time at the first stop. Guano point also had food but is hit and miss if they are open or not. After landing at the check in you have about 2.5 hours before your flight leaves at 2pm. The busses were pretty full from each stop but also only seemed to be running about every 15-20min. We then left at 2pm to fly back to Vegas where we got to fly down the strip and see all the hotels. After arriving at 9:15am we were back at the strip by 3pm.
