Yellowstone Winter Wildlife Safari From Gardiner

Yellowstone Winter Wildlife Safari From Gardiner

By Yellowstone Safari Company
While winter may bring cold temperatures, snowy days and a resounding stillness to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, it is also undoubtedly one of the most exciting seasons to go on a wildlife safari. Yellowstone in winter is an extreme, exclusive place. Of the 300 miles of road in the Park, only 50 miles are open to regular vehicles between the months of November to April. A full-day winter tour with Yellowstone Safari Co. focuses on this region, the spectacular Northern Range between Mammoth Hot Springs and Cooke City, Montana, where some of the best wildlife viewing in North American can be found. The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is a region steeped in history and wildness, where nature thrives as it did prior to human settlement. On your safari you will have an opportunity to view hundreds, if not thousands, of large mammals and other wildlife, including herds of bison and elk, gray wolves, mule deer, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and more.

      An apex experience.
This tour was the highlight of our entire vacation. Randolph filled the whole tour with the greatest parts of Yellowstone and backed it up with the historic background we needed to understand the importance of the park for our country. Would recommend it to all ages.

We wanted to see wildlife and Brandon made it happen
We had an amazing day with Brandon. He was a fantastic guide. He knows the land and found some great wildlife for us to view. We saw everything except big horned sheep and wolves. I would highly recommend this tour company they were professional from start to finish!!

      Yellowstone Safari Company exceeded expectations!
Highlight of our girls trip to Bozeman! We saw an abundance of wildlife…wolves, big horn sheep, bison, elk, trumpeter swans, and pronghorns. The trip exceeded every expectation! Made a side trip to Mammoth Hot Springs. What made our trip even more special was our guide, Kelsey. She greeted us with a warm and genuine smile with hot coffee in the morning. As the day went on, her enthusiasm about being in Yellowstone among the wildlife was so contagious! She was excited to share all her knowledge with us and went out of her way to find each wildlife sighting for us. Looking forward to seeing more of Yellowstone through Yellowstone Safari Company.

Misleading Booking Process and Shady Business Practices
First, we must say that our tour guide, Jeff, was excellent. He was a wealth of information and through his knowledge gave us the opportunity to see a lot in one day. However, the company communication and booking was terrible. We booked and paid for a private tour through TripAdvisor. We paid $350 per person. When we arrived, there were two other people on our tour. We immediately called the company, and they claimed we booked it incorrectly. Yet, they also told us that had we booked a private tour it actually would have cost less than what we paid. They told us to complain to TripAdvisor. They refused to credit us any money. I would not use this company.

      Best of Best
This was a wonderful tour and a great time. The small group added to the fun. Zac was a wonderful guide and had our best interest at heart while working hard to find things special for us to see - yet showed great respect for the park, the wildlife and the environment. Would do this again if I could. Don't miss it.

      Yellowstone Family Trip
Just got back from Yellowstone National Park. We had a wonderful guide, Mike from Montana Yellowstone Tours who had lots of interesting facts and showed us the beautiful sites of Yellowstone. The kids loved his funny humor and our hikes were the best. Even the lunch and snacks he provided were over the top. We will always remember all the wildlife we saw. Mike gave us a trip we will always remember. Tina

The Very Best Part of our Yellowstone NP Vacation!
I would give this rating 100 stars if I had the option. We have absolutely NO regrets about taking this tour and 100% recommend experiencing it for yourself! Our guide was Kelsey, and we absolutely loved her. She was so sweet and so smart and so interesting. She knew everything about anything we asked about, and never made us feel dumb for asking all of our inane questions. To the contrary, she frequently validated me by responding with "that's a great question!" Our tour began in Gardiner, MT which is the north entrance to the park. Kelsey was an absolute pro in every way, including all the attention to detail. There were snacks and beverages provided all day long, along with lunch mid-day. The van was clean and comfortable, and everyone had generous viewing access. We were two in a tour group of five and I have to say part of the overall experience was being teamed up with some awesome people who very quickly became great friends (shout out to Chris and Tim, and Ashley!). Kelsey took us to some of her personal favorite "hot spots" and believe me when I say she did not disappoint. She even knew where all the best rest rooms were, as well as how to get around the heaviest traffic! The crown jewel was that she knew where the very best view of Old Faithful was, and believe me, she was spot on about that. In the course of our day, we saw multitudes of elk, bison (including babies!), one black bear, several loons, five trumpeter swans, an eagle, and SO much more. Kelsey brought a spotting scope so we could see wildlife off in the distance and took pictures with her phone and texted them to us. Some of the stops throughout the day were Mammoth Hot Springs, Roaring Mountain, Grand Prismatic Spring, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone River Upper Falls, just to name a few. Other highlights that were not stops but were pointed out as unique and interesting features of the park were Obsidian Cliff, Artists Paintpots, Beryl Spring, Gibbon Falls, the Continental Divide, Hayden Valley, and so much more. Honestly it was such a packed day of sightseeing and learning, I can't remember everything we experienced. I learned more from Kelsey about volcanic activity and calderas than I ever thought I would. There is NO WAY we would have gotten as much out of our visit to YNP as we did if we had not taken this tour and tried to capture the experience on our own. Just for starters, we would have spent most of the day stuck in traffic. Thank you, Kelsey, for making my lifelong bucket list item which was to see YNP an experience beyond my wildest dreams! I will never forget you, and never be able to thank you enough.

      Awesome Day in Yellowstone!
This was a fantastic tour, especially for us since we had never been to Yellowstone before! Grant and Claire were our tour guides, and we couldn't have had anyone better. Grant was thoroughly knowledgeable about pretty much everything about the park. He was very personable and totally flexible with what we wanted to see and suggestions about what we may like. We saw all of the highlights of the park, and plenty of bison, elk, and even a bear. All in a day! Definitely do this tour if you are considering it, and ask for Grant or Claire!!

Three day Winter Safari - Fantastic!!
We went to Yellowstone with Yellowstone Safaris during the first week of March, we wanted to see the wolves mainly and were very happy with the tour. Our guide, Grant, was very knowledgeable and answered the thousands of questions we had, helped us find the best photo places and took us exploring to all corners of the park. The whole experience from food, accommodation, and transportation to the wildlife sightings was five stars. We already started recommending it to all our friends!
