Along with alpacas and llamas, you will meet our three Turkish Anatolian Guard Dogs, Chili, Hazel, and Finn, they are litter-mates and best friends! Our chickens and horses (seasonal) love welcoming our visitors and will always take some extra treats too! We have ground squirrels, deer, bald eagles, and of course our cat, Jill, will occasionally make a special appearance. Take lots of photos during your time on the farm and with your favorite alpaca (don't forget to tag us on social media). At the end of your tour, you'll get to pick out a keychain or sticker souvenir to remember your visit with us! Please wear closed toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and make sure to put on sunscreen as we will be outdoors for the entirety of the tour. Additionally, bring water and note there is not a public restroom on site. Please remember this is a full-time working farm, so you may see alpacas breeding, live births, etc. and always watch your step!

Selling all my smart wool for Alpaca thanks to James
We passed by to check Alpacas of Montana product as I was curious about their store and the material. James, the owner was present on a Sunday and spent a very long time with me explaining the advantages of Alpaca and why he came in this business. After 20 minutes, I was sold and bought 800$ of products. The rest of the time, I had an incredible conversation with James. He is a brillant individual and the amount of research and knowledge on alpaca he has is immense. 3 days later, I was in Yellowstone testing his product in very cold weather. Everything advanced by him was evidently true. It holds warmer than wool, my feet were less sweaty than they have ever been. We were cross country skiing a lot and my back was sweaty with the backpack but I was not cold. The warmth retention is very impressive and it is so comfortable to wear. I am going to sell all the sheep wool stuff I own and replace everything with Alpaca. On the plus side, it is way more environmental friendly than wool as it requires 0 chemical to achieve a softness on par with cachemire. Which cannot be said for wool. Yes it is also incredibly soft. Tried it once, never going back. Thank you James, you got a customer for life. Hopefully we get to fly fish one day!

      Wonderful World of Alpacas
A wonderful experience learning all about alpacas. You can feed, walk and pet them all while experiencing the wonderful view of the mountains. The owners are very hands on and knowledgeable and caring for the animals. You will not be sorry.

This tour was a great experience. James is full of knowledge and knows how to cater to different audiences, making the tour fun regardless of age or attention spans. Our group was a mixture of business colleagues and family members including my young children. We all really enjoyed it and I learned quite a bit. I’ll definitely be back to the store and will be recommending the tour to others.

Book your tour now! This was one of the most unique, fun, and eye opening experiences we’ve had. Annie is clearly passionate about her work and it’s contagious. We got to meet a couple of the dogs first, thanks for approving our visit, Finn. Chili, I could hug and pet you all day! On to giving the Llamas and Alpaca’s some snack (which they LOVE). Then meeting the babies and the dudes. We got to walk Mr. lovey (his name says it all) then one of my favorite parts of all was cooking them off with a little shower…they literally came running and patiently waited their turn to cool off in the 90 degree weather! So much fun! Then we got a super cute souvenir to remember this gem of a place. So stop reading and book your tour!

An amazing opportunity to learn and interact with alpacas, as well as the guard llamas and guard dogs. My mom and I were thrilled at the chance to feed the alpacas, pet them, give them hugs, take them on a walk, and even hold a baby (we visited at the right time of year for that). We learned so much, and appreciated how welcome we felt visiting the farm. We will really treasure this memory, and highly recommend it to visitors of all ages.

I had a great time doing this farm tour! Sarah the owner hosted my tour and she was great. I absolutely loved both the alpacas and the llama's, they were so adorable and friendly. Sarah did a great job explaining a lot about the animals and letting me interact with them. I wish i could visit more often! This is great experience if you are an animal lover, or if you are interested in how these creatures are bred, raised, and provide wonderful products with their sheared hair. Some even provide support services to kids and the community as well which I am not surprised. They are delightful. The farm is right in Bozeman and totally worth a trip.

Amazing family activity. My kids (9 and 11) absolutely loved the farm. We got to see the llamas and alpacas up close and even fed them. Very memorable experience and the owners were very kind ❤️ Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to spend an hour or two outside of Yellowstone near Bozeman.

We booked this as a break from our roadtrip between Glacier and Yellowstone. We were not expecting it to be the highlight of our vacation! Our guide was insightful to the unique personalities and quirks of all the animals on the property (including the resident gophers and eagles!). She prioritized safety for the visitors as well as the llamas and alpacas, managing to provide helpful guidance while ensuring we had fun and meaningful interaction with the animals. She can also answer all of your camelid questions! While your experience may vary, we were able to handfeed the alpacas, walk them around the pasture on a lead, and get some quality selfies with our new friend BB the alpaca. We did not have time to give them a spray to cooldown, but our tour ran longer than the advertised hour and at no point did it feel like it dragged on. Warning: You will learn a lot more about the romantic lives of these alpacas than you are probably expecting, but their lives are weirdly hilarious.

The experience of learning, loving, feeding and walking the Alpacas was fabulous. Sarah and James, owners were so knowledgeable and personable that you felt as if you really knew them. We loved also learning about Montana, local tribes and plans for the future. Definitely a highlight on our trip and an asset to their community. This tour is good for any age.

What a wealth of information and extremely interesting tour. Not only did we get to pet the alpacas, we had a history and biology lesson thrown in. We were able to even mingle with the stud alpacas where one’s spunk cost $300,000. The farm is beautiful, the store is great and the owners friendly.

We had the best time at Alpacas of Montana! We love animals so it was amazing to be able to feed & pet the alpacas & see the other animals on the farm. We highly recommend this if you’re in Bozeman & have a couple of hours to spend with cute alpacas & llamas!
