- 1Along with alpacas and llamas, you will meet our three Turkish Anatolian Guard Dogs, Chili, Hazel, and Finn, they are litter-mates and best friends! Our chickens and horses (seasonal) love welcoming our visitors and will always take some extra treats too! We have ground squirrels, deer, bald eagles, and of course our cat, Jill, will occasionally make a special appearance. Take lots of photos during your time on the farm and with your favorite alpaca (don't forget to tag us on social media). At the end of your tour, you'll get to pick out a keychain or sticker souvenir to remember your visit with us! Please wear closed toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and make sure to put on sunscreen as we will be outdoors for the entirety of the tour. Additionally, bring water and note there is not a public restroom on site. Please remember this is a full-time working farm, so you may see alpacas breeding, live births, etc. and always watch your step!

- VinceBlin70 contributionsSelling all my smart wool for Alpaca thanks to JamesWe passed by to check Alpacas of Montana product as I was curious about their store and the material. James, the owner was present on a Sunday and spent a very long time with me explaining the advantages of Alpaca and why he came in this business. After 20 minutes, I was sold and bought 800$ of products. The rest of the time, I had an incredible conversation with James. He is a brillant individual and the amount of research and knowledge on alpaca he has is immense. 3 days later, I was in Yellowstone testing his product in very cold weather. Everything advanced by him was evidently true. It holds warmer than wool, my feet were less sweaty than they have ever been. We were cross country skiing a lot and my back was sweaty with the backpack but I was not cold. The warmth retention is very impressive and it is so comfortable to wear. I am going to sell all the sheep wool stuff I own and replace everything with Alpaca. On the plus side, it is way more environmental friendly than wool as it requires 0 chemical to achieve a softness on par with cachemire. Which cannot be said for wool. Yes it is also incredibly soft. Tried it once, never going back. Thank you James, you got a customer for life. Hopefully we get to fly fish one day!Written 3 February 2024
- kjulie990 contributionsWonderful World of AlpacasA wonderful experience learning all about alpacas. You can feed, walk and pet them all while experiencing the wonderful view of the mountains. The owners are very hands on and knowledgeable and caring for the animals. You will not be sorry.Written 29 January 2024

My wife and I had a great time visiting and participating in the tour. Our guide was Jenna and she was super kind and full of knowledge! She also did a great job pairing us with alpacas to walk with as my wife absolutely fell in love with Baba Ganoush. We absolutely recommend to everyone interested that they book this tour — and then buy some alpaca socks because they are extraordinarily comfortable!
I also want to say it was a pleasure meeting James and hearing about the journey of how Alpacas of Montana came to be. Will hopefully be able to come again in the near future!

We took a ranch tour this morning and we all had an outstanding time! Our tour guide, Jenna, did such an amazing job! From the beginning to the end of the tour, she had an answer for every question and was very knowledgeable! She was also very kind and did a great job showing us around this beautiful property. We started by seeing and interacting with the main herd. Every alpaca was so friendly and sweet! They all had unique haircuts based on their fleece type and it was adorable! We also got to meet the babies that were just a couple months old and they were so cute!! Next everyone got an alpaca and took a walk around the pasture which was so fun! Our guide Jenna did a phenomenal job at stoping so we could take as many selfies and group photos with our alpacas in front of the beautiful, snow covered mountains as we wanted! Another great part of the tour was meeting and learning about the guard dogs they had at the ranch! They were so friendly to everyone and we even got to see a really cute puppy (guard dog in training) to wrap up the tour! Overall it was a super nice property with a great gift shop and a big barn for the alpacas. I would highly recommend doing this tour if your in Bozeman! Thank you so much to all the people at Alpacas of Montana for supplying such a great time!

This tour was a great experience. James is full of knowledge and knows how to cater to different audiences, making the tour fun regardless of age or attention spans. Our group was a mixture of business colleagues and family members including my young children. We all really enjoyed it and I learned quite a bit. I’ll definitely be back to the store and will be recommending the tour to others.

Jenna was an outstanding guide on our llama and alpaca tour. She provided fascinating insights into the history and origins of alpacas and llamas, explaining how they came to Montana and their genealogy. The tour was incredibly interactive, fun, and educational. It exceeded my expectations, offering a multifaceted experience with a lovely lobby to relax, read, shop for gifts, and wait for the next tour.
During the tour, we had the opportunity to touch and interact with the llamas and alpacas, even taking them for a walk. Jenna’s expertise and experience were evident as she explained everything clearly, managed the animals effortlessly, and fed them. Her constant smile and deep knowledge about the animals’ behavior added a special touch to the tour.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Montana. Whether you have plans or not, make sure to carve out time for this unique and delightful experience. Jenna’s guidance makes it truly unforgettable.

Great experience! Family run- friendly and experienced. We started our first day in Bozeman with this excursion. We were greeted by the “guard dogs” who were friendly and docile. We learned so many cool facts along the tour. Our guide Grace was fantastic! From holding a baby alpaca, to feeding them and taking them for a walk- it was a great hour!! The store is quaint and sells quality items. Would highly recommend for anyone! We had older adults and children in our group and everyone enjoyed it.

My favorite parts were holding a baby alpaca and taking Felix the alpaca on a walk. My fiance also proposed to me when we stopped to take pictures with Felix and Pete (the alpaca my fiance walked)! I loved learning more about the history of alpacas and how alpaca wool can be so different from one alpaca to the next. I strongly recommend if you are even slightly interested to go because it was such a fun experience. Also, the shop where they sell their alpaca products has so many wonderful things and you get a discount for going on the tour.

Seriously didn’t expect this to be as much fun as it was. My entire family ages 3, 5, 15 and us old parents loved this experience. The alpacas were so gentle and the kids fed them, walked them in a leash, and washed them. The owners were so knowledgeable and really made us all have a better appreciation for alpacas and llamas. We arrived in time for the opening of their store as well located in the property. The items in their store were from the alpacas on the farm. Of course, I had to buy a few items to take home! The sales person at store just allowed us to look and provided no pressure in buying a thing. We bought items for the sole reason they were such high quality. I will definitely look to buy more online for Christmas gifts later on. If you’re on the fence about doing this during your vacation, just do it! I promise you this will be a highlight and maybe your favorite part of the vacation, as it was for my family

Such an EXCELLENT experience, so happy I made the effort! LOOOOVED being with the alpacas and llamas, learning about all the animals on the farm. It was a small group of people with a lovely young female guide. I could have spent the whole day out there, it was that much FUN! I even got caught in the crossfire while feeding a llama who spit at another llama, it felt like a spritzer on the side of my face, that evaporated immediately, another AUTHENTIC experience!! Shopping their high- quality store afterwards made the trip complete. Highly recommended!

s a planner bringing a group to Montana for a corporate retreat, I had the pleasure of working with Alpacas of Montana, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Grace was a joy to work with, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. The ladies absolutely loved their private tour of the farm and the one-on-one time with the alpacas. It was such a special and unique addition to our retreat, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to create a memorable experience in Bozeman.

I wish I could go back and its only the next day. I loved visiting the Alpaca farm so much, we got to meet chickens, giant guard dogs (fluffy gentle bears), llamas, and alpacas of all ages. This farm is predator friendly, meaning you get to see rabbits and groundhogs super close to you just lounging. We learned how the llamas and dogs work together to protect the herd, and so much more about llamas and alpacas and the fleece they produce. Our tour guide Annie was so kind and knowledgeable and patient with my many, many questions. She also helped us get photos and videos of us interacting with the animals!
You can tell how much every creature on this farm is loved, and treated to the best life ever. I never knew how satisfying spraying down alpacas with a hose could be (and seeing them pogo to get their bellies sprayed!), we got to interact with the llamas and alpacas in many ways. I highly recommend this tour to any animal lover! The farm was clean and the animals super happy, you are surrounded by mountains in the distance. Alpacas are adorable and so fluffy and soft! This is a welcoming environment for any family, persons or group, I wish I could go every day, what a fantastic experience. We even got a souvenir from Peru to remember the alpacas by!
