Fantastic way to see Yellowstone and wildlife!!
What a fantastic guided adventure through Yellowstone National Park. From ease in booking the trip to punctual pick up and our amazing and enthusiastic guide, Randolph, this has been a trip highlight! Randolph worked hard to search out the wildlife and we were able to see so much including 2 wolves! He has a keen eye! He is also extremely knowledgeable on the history of the park and the ecosystem. Lunch and snacks were superb! I highly recommend booking with this tour company!

A great guide and a beautiful snowshoe adventure
We recently took a 1/2 day snowshoe into Yellowstone Park from Big Sky MT. I would like to commend our tour guide, Grant. He was extremely knowledgeable, considerate and made our afternoon one that we will not forget. His enthusiasm and appreciation of our surroundings was infectious. The Yellowstone Safari Company is fortunate to have Grant as one of their guides.

Great family experience over Spring Break
Loved our experience with Yellowstone Safari Company. Our guide, Randolph, was extremely knowledgeable, very accommodating (and punctual) and great with the kids. We toured the park (van and snow coach tour) and snowshoed. Randolph was able to track down a couple of the wolves, which was an amazing experience. Would highly suggest this company and Randolph in particular.

A beautiful winter day with Yellowstone Safari Co.
We spent the day with Yellowstone Safari Co. taking a private Full-day Snowshoe Safari Adventure. Zak, our guide, spent lots of time making sure my 10 year old grandson was safe and comfortable in the snow. He met all of our needs in pointing out all sorts of wildlife. Lunch was great. Snowshoeing was lots of fun, and so beautiful to be in Yellowstone in the midst of winter. We hope to visit again very soon! Yellowstone Safari Co. is professional, experienced and simply a great team!!

        Great GREAT adventure (and company)!
Wait...are there six stars? We (two couples) booked the 2 Day Winter Wolves & Wildlife Safari. WHAT AN AMAZING two days. Our guide was Gabrielle Murray. She was fantastic. Super knowledgeable and incredibly engaging. We witnessed wolves (fleetingly), bison, moose -- and (yes) mating coyotes feasting on a carcass. A slight hitch in pickup was quickly remedied -- and profusely apologized for. Meals were terrific. The accommodation was simple, but lovely. Communication with the company was clear and always immediate. Cannot recommend this company enough...and do ask for Gabrielle if you can. Thank you so much Yellowstone Safari Co. Highlight of my trip!
I can not put into words how truly amazing this experience was! I highly recommend booking the wildlife safari trip if you are visiting the area! It was honestly the highlight of my entire trip & the entire team was absolutely fabulous. From help with booking me on a public tour day, to the actual tour itself and every step in between they were all amazing. Excellent customer service. I will absolutely be booking another trip for the summer time. Don’t hesitate. Just book it. It’s so worth the money and you won’t regret the experience. 13/10 recommends!

        Majestic, a true winter wonderland!
Randolph is amazing! He led 4 of us on a full day winter wildlife tour of Yellowstone, and we had the absolute best time. Our entire group (some of us met as strangers that day!) had a blast together. He’s impressively knowledgeable about so many aspects of the wildlife species in the park—population sizes, their habits, where they live in the park, and a pulse on the research being done currently to monitor the wolf and bear populations. His innate passion for nature and animals came through and inspired us to ask so many more questions. We learned so much! He possesses this next level ability to spot wildlife with the naked eye (often while driving!) and would pull over safely and expertly bust out a scope to hone in on the animal of interest to make it visible for the rest of us. He did this for a mountain goat that blended in with the pure white snow on a far off mountain cliff and for a dipper bird that was fishing, such a unique species that was fascinating to watch. He’s friendly and welcoming and is an excellent communicator, giving us a head’s up from the beginning on where the rest stop and coffee opportunities would be along the way. And he asked from the start what we were hoping to see to tailor the experience to the interests of our group, which was really cool. Beyond being knowledgeable and kind, he’s also a genuinely interesting person and he shared lots of memorable stories—from inside and outside the park. We laughed so many times, and shared some heartfelt moments too. Can’t compliment him enough for guiding us through the park and creating such a positive vibe as the backdrop for what became many fun memories. I’ll admit, there was a moment a few weeks before my trip to Montana that I suggested to my friend we just rent a car and figure out the park ourselves. I live for national parks and know how to improvise & maximize a day long trip—and I am so glad she convinced me to take this tour! There’s *no way* we would have jampacked that many epic wildlife sightings into one day—and we would have only learned *a fraction* of what we did if we hadn’t opted into this truly memorable experience.

We had the best time on this tour! Gary was an awesome tour guide, it ended up just being my wife and I and he treated us so well! He kept us warm, fed and hydrated and we learned so much about the park and the wildlife. Spectacular views of the park and we saw a lot of animals! Would highly recommend making this tour a part of your Montana trip!

        Family friendly and educational tour
Fabulous tour! We saw the sanctuary and learned so much about the animals of Yellowstone and our 12 year old loved it. Then a wonderful lunch and a wilderness hike where we learned about reading scat and tracks and saw some Elk. Great trip we will come back again to see more so much to see in Yellowstone! (A lot of the park was closed during our visit so check ahead to make sure what you want to see is open)

        Day @ Yellowstone.
Went today with Gary. Tour was excellent, Gary was excellent. Only thing that could be improved is a couple of options for lunch. Thanks Gary for an informative, great day.

5 day safari tour if Yellowstone/Grand Tetons with Yellowstone Safari Co.
Just completed a 5 day tour of Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons via the Yellowstone Safari Co. with Nate Udd as our guide. One word...FABULOUS!! Nate was the consummate guide. His knowledge of the parks, wildlife trends, tendencies and habits, contacts with other guides for the latest sighting info and knowledge of "lesser known" but excellent viewing locations was invaluable. And with an artists eye he suggested locations and times to do great viewing and photographing points for wildlife, landscapes, sunrise and sunset views. Had to be a little flexible as we were getting into shoulder season bur Nate always had options to make the most of our time on our tour. We were there to experience the natural wonders of the parks and Nate made sure we got the most of our tour. In our opinion you just can't do these parks justice in a day or two. If you have the ability to book a 4 or 5 day tour of these parks do it. And do it with Yellowstone Safari Co.

        Amazing
Zach was our guide and did a phenomenal job of showing us everything we could see in the 8+ hours we were with him. The tour did so much more than what we could have ever seen on our own. We went with a private safari just my husband and I. We didn’t want to be held up with a group of strangers. It was worth the price of admission. We got some amazing pictures and learned a lot from the fun stories Zach told us. We had some great snacks hot tea and coffee. The box lunch as surprisingly very good. You don’t expect much from a boxed lunch on a tour. We had sandwiches chips and a delicious brownie. Kudos to the caterer. All in all I highly recommend using them and Zach.

She was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and listened to what our top priorities were for the day/what we wanted to see and made it happen! I would highly recommend this company, especially Kelsey for your trip to Yellowstone!

        Excellent and throughly throughout
Two excellent days with private guides Gabrielle and Hannah, both great. Family of 11 and they knew how to manage the spectrum of ages and interests. Engaging conversations, passionate and knowledgeable about the area, history and wildlife. A super pleasant experience, they knew when we should be at various sites including popular stops like Old Faithful in order to avoid crowds and/or get the best viewing. It is a pricey tour but would highly recommend.

Confirmed and paid for a 2 day tour of Yellowstone with my kids in May. Flew out from NY in June for our vacation in Montana and the owner of the company, Jason, called me and cancelled my tour on the day I arrived! This was after his manager, Ash, had called me for payment, again, and told me that she gave away my confirmed guide to another group that comes here yearly. I voiced my disappointment to Ash and she brushed me off and said that " she had to make a judgment call" and that I can't always get what I want. I told her that I wanted to speak to Jason. Eight hours later, Jason called me and told me that he didn't think I was a "good fit" for his tour company and that he could tell that I wouldn't enjoy the tour or the new guide that had been assigned to my family without my consent and that I would probably just ask for a refund after the tour. I was in shock and basically begged him not to cancel my tour as we didn't have a rental car to do the park ourselves. He seemed to get enjoyment out of my desperation and told me he had to think about it. He also kept saying, " I don't know what world you think we are living in" as if he assumed that because I was from NY I would be expecting royal treatment or something. Keep in mind they already had me pay 2500 hundred dollars! He then went on to complain how understaffed he was with so many people traveling this summer there was no way he could accommodate me and my kids. He decided, after I basically begged him not to cancel me, to refund me my money. This was after he accused me of lying about my conversation with Ash, his incompetent manager, regarding my choice of guide, back in May. I emailed him the whole email thread that showed Ash confirming my choice of guide and responded to my email that I should no longer correspond with his company about things that are no longer his concern. I have never in my life been treated more unprofessionaly by a tour company that brags about how long they have been in business etc. I would NOT recommend this tour company if they were the only company left on earth! There are many others in the area. I flew out here just to see Yellowstone after paying them for the tour and they had already told me there were no rental cars. What they did to me was disgusting and almost ruined my vacation.

This review is a great example of how customers with unrealistic expectations and very poor attitude and behavior can lead to a bad experience for everyone. We worked very hard to accommodate the needs of this customer over the course of several months, without one positive comment from them. They did not like the accommodations we chose when they initially wanted a multi-day trip with us. They did not like the food we offered to bring on tour. They were unhappy with the cost of the tour. We met every disappointment with grace and flexibility. We met the request for a specific guide with enthusiasm, but never promised. Our guides are people with personal commitments that we understand and prioritize. We treat them like the wonderful human beings they are, and they work extremely hard for our clients. When this customer finally decided on 2 day-trips with us, we booked them in, generously without payment, until 2 days before the trip when they finally decided to pay. Because we had to change the guide for this booking, we were met with completely unwarranted and outrageous behavior. If anyone was unprofessional here, it was the customer. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who will bring negativity to their experience and to our guides. We stand behind our company policies and our choices.

This trip was part of a birthday gift to my son who turned 12 this year, and it met all of our expectations. First, speaking with Ash on the phone was always a pleasure; she answered all of my questions and was happy to help in any way. We were picked up at our hotel in Bozeman by Grant, who was great to talk to all day as we drove to, through and back from the park. Everything was clean, a divider was between us and Grant (driving), and we all wore masks the entire time - I felt safe in the environment. Grant was great at spotting the wildlife as we drove into the park, and while I know it's never guaranteed that you will see all the big animals, my son did get to see a wolf for a few seconds through the spotting scope as it ran up the hillside. Mind you, it was below 0 all day and snowing, so not ideal conditions to be out looking for anything. But we saw so much, and my son told me after that trip that this was part of his best birthday gift ever. So great job to all at YSC as you gave us a trip to remember and everyone we dealt with was a pleasure.

Being our first trip to Yellowstone, my wife and I wanted to get the lay of the land on day one from someone experienced. After reading reviews for Yellowstone Safari Company and talking to them several times, we decided to book Yellowstone Wildlife Safari (private) tour. Since we were already staying inside the park, we agreed to meet our guide early our first morning. Grant was on time at the pick-up location and proceeded to give us one of the best guide trips we have ever been on. Not only did we score major wildlife sightings, but Grant also took us to several scenic sites that we knew we would not be able to see because of out tight schedule. He made sure that we were always in the best viewing positions for the wildlife and his great knowledge of the area made it even more enjoyable. Definitely worth doing - highly recommend! Thanks Grant for sharing your day with us.

Our first time to Yellowstone and with only one day to spare in our vacation, this company did not disappoint. Our Guide Gary was oustanding and so passionate about what he does. It truly made the entire tour perfect. From the minute we left Bozeman he had history to share with us, then when we arrived at Yellowstone, each place we stopped was perfectly orchestrated and full of information.

Fantastic!!! In one day we saw: a wolf adult with puppies, 8 different bears (some mamas with cubs, some black, some grizzly), bighorn sheep, mountain goats, badger, pronghorn, and of course elk and bison. It was so convenient to have our guide toting around scopes and equipment to help us see the wildlife. He was an amazing spotter and was excellent at finding great scoping vantage points. He was very attentive to our comfort and safety. They also provided cold water, breakfast items, and box lunches with sodas. Our guide Grant was super experienced and very knowledgeable, providing lots of background and information about the wildlife! The tour guides are vaccinated and they will wear masks if you wish.

We had an incredibly fruitful day exploring Yellowstone and seeing wildlife with our tour guide Andreas. Before entering the park we were able to observe grizzly bears foraging in a field from a distance and then located further along a mother moose and her baby resting in a neighboring field. We also saw a family of eagles perching in a tree which apparently is very unusual to see so many together. At Yellowstone we observed elk and the many bison that move about the park and got involved in a bison traffic jam with some great video. Our guide was aware of a recently spotted bison carcass visible for another road and we went there and watched for over an hour as first coyotes feasted on the meat and then took the meet back to their cubs hidden in the rock ledge nearby while we worried about the wolf pack that was moving down from the hills to also feast on the carcass. The coyotes vacated when they smelled the wolves but before the wolves got there an eagle flew down and ate in concert with some ravens. It was interesting to see the size difference between the eagle and the ravens and then as well between the coyotes and the wolves that finally made it to their meal as well! As we left the park we saw the mountain goats perched high above us and jumping from one rock perch to another. In short, we feel very fortunate we saw so much wildlife in one short day. Thank you for your efforts to make it such a memorable day--although I know we were lucky too that so many things fell into place in that day!

Yellowstone Safari Co. crafted a 5-star experience for the 3 day private wildlife safari tour I booked. My guide Gary was super fun to spend time with, and an expert with deep knowledge of the history/ecology of the park, the wildlife, and all the best spots to find them. All the details like food and lodging were also well thought out and top-notch. Highly recommend!

Even though it was a cold, rainy/snowy day, my husband and I saw all kinds of wildlife, including bears, a wolf, elk, bison with calves, and a variety of birds of prey. We were skeptical about going out on such a day, but our efforts and persistence were well worth it! We were so well taken care of with warm drinks, delicious meals and snacks, spotting scopes, binoculars, and great conversation. Our guide, Gary, a genuine caring & compassionate retired forestry service guy with a degree in geology added so much to the day beyond the wildlife aspects of Yellowstone NP. One thing that impressed us a lot is the genuine love, caring, and understanding that the Yellowstone Wildlife Safari staff have for the entire Yellowstone environment. Booking this experience definitely enhanced our entire week in Yellowstone, and we would absolutely do it again if we have a chance to visit the area again.

Thank you for your review! It sounds like Gary really worked to help you have a great day despite a crazy spring storm. We are touched that your experience with us was so positive.

Our experience was awesome! Everyone was so professional, friendly and super-motivated to make our experience perfectly memorable. I will definitely use Wildlife Safari again, and I can't recommend them enough!

Our guide, Andrea, had so much knowledge of the animals and their environment! When we spotted a grizzly traversing the horizon, he assessed that he was planning to cross the road and managed to maneuver us into the perfect viewing position to see him break into a sprint, pass just a few feet in front of us, and up the hill next to us. At about shoulder height, the bear turned, looked right at us, and snorted a plume of steam before disappearing.

We really enjoyed this tour. Yellowstone is diverse and beautiful. Our tour guide was likable and shared a ton of great stories, history, etc with us. Our day together was full - 6am to 4pm! I liked the route we took (we covered a lot of ground + our guide took off the beaten path routes when possible to avoid traffic) and the itinerary (we stopped at several popular spots). My only tips for participants: be aware that Yellowstone altitude is 8,000 feet! Also, you may want to bring a sandwich or snacks to supplement what is provided. The company provides breakfast/snacks/lunch but the foods were fairly light and meals spread far apart and it's a long day!
