Dildora’s tour was well-paced, interesting, historical, balanced, and enjoyable. Our group included our 3 family members (couple & a 15 year old) and another group that may have been 2 grandparents and adult daughter and her 14-year old.

Initially I was worried if 1. It would be worth the price, 2. If I could go on for 2.5hrs and 3. (I probably should’ve been concerned with) Will my teen stay interested?

But I’ve been wanting to visit Detroit and see all the cool old buildings for 10-20yrs now and we finally made it! (So I was less concerned w my teen’s appreciation).

1. Let me tell you that it *is* worth it. There are places that only Dildora can get you into, little stops w cool art tucked away, great photographs/murals to explain the area’s building…things you just couldn’t do on your own.

Additionally Dildora is not a native Detroitan, which means she can see it through an outsider’s clearer lens, BUT and this is a big ‘but’ (I cannot lie): it is her Chosen Home for a long time now and it is clear she loves this city!

She doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable subjects of the past, but also doesn’t dwell on them.

2. There were plenty of stops with seating, but none were too long. We started early with very pleasant temps and as it warmed we were ushered into some cool vestibules and there were even restroom/water/ food purchase opportunities.

3. I had figured my (and the other) teen would be bored and was prepared for the quiet drag, I was happily surprised that both stayed interested and engaged!

Dildora has an accent that takes some getting used to, but by the first stop your ears will adjust and you’ll be learning so much about Detroit!

In summary: do it! And bring your friends and fam:)

Our guide was so incredibly knowledgeable and delightful. I completely enjoyed the bit of history she provided at the beginning plus her choice of buildings. It was very cool to see the inside of a few of them plus the riverfront plaza. It was very generous of her to offer her phone # for dining recommendations. We did take her advise & hopped on the Qline which took us up to the Fisher Building & back. Would highly recommend the tour to anyone with an interest in Detroit history from founding to the present-- really gives you a lot of appreciation for the city.

The tour was amazing. We learned so much about the city and it’s history and left the tour feeling so inspired about where the city is going in terms of its future. Dildora was exceptionally informative and provided great stops in the itinerary. Highly recommend for anyone that truly wants to understand the past, present and future of this great American city.

Dildora provided a very thorough review of the history of Detroit and it’s current revitalization. Not only did we get a lot of great information about some of the amazing restored downtown buildings we were given context as to the challenges the city has faced and what they are trying to do to overcome those challenges. She also provided lots of restaurant and activity recommendations. A great way to start a visit to Detroit.

Dildora Muzafari gave us a fascinating look into the architecture, history, and energy of the iconic locations of Detroit like the Guardian Building; the survey marker in the center of Campus Martius placed by Judge Woodward which became the point of origin for all the mile roads; the Detroit Foundation Hotel; the David Whitney Building; the Siren Hotel; the Belt (a cute little mews with folk art and hidden bars); the intersection which held the nation's first traffic light; and much more. She pointed out the beautiful melding of the historic and modern elements within each building. It was easy to get excited about the revitalization of Detroit that has happened only since 2016. You can see a video of Dildora if you google "Rediscover Detroit" or "Detroit Motown Tour". She has also written a book called "Sunshine Girl" - she's a self-made woman who has made it her life's work to make Detroit come alive to anyone.

An unabashed fan of the city, Dildora showed us the many recovered splendors of Detroit. It’s a terrific story that all Americans should be proud of - the reclamation of one of our great historical cities. Nothing but cool spaces on this tour. A great way to become acquainted and appreciative of downtown Detroit.

This was a great tour! I learned so much about the history of the city as well as the city’s future! It wasn't until I took this tour (on the third day of my visit) that I felt I'd really SEEN Detroit. Through this tour, my guide illustrated how the local love and passion for the city and it's history is kept alive through architectural renovations. This tour absolutely made my visit!

What a fantastic way to explore downtown Detroit! Diladora was an incredibly knowledgeable guide and made learning about the history of Detroit fun and interesting. She also shared a lot about the rich art scene, recent development of historic buildings, and future plans for the city. I’m a native Michigander and really enjoyed this tour. Don’t hesitate to book!

My husband and I took this walking tour with Dildora and absolutely loved it! She was an excellent guide, very personable with tons of knowledge about Detroit, both past and present. We started at the incredible Guardian Building and wandered in and out of a great selection of downtown sites while we learned about the history of the city. We were very impressed with all the lovely, restored buildings plus all the art, the murals and the flowers everywhere. We really enjoyed our time there and are grateful to Dildora for answering all our many questions and helping us appreciate this “renewed” Detroit.
