It was a beautiful day, and our instructor was really amazing. Saw so many fish, and some huge snappers decided to take a swim with us. Great experience.

Had a great experience, saw some amazing fish and it was well run and safe for the kids. The marine centre up the roads was also fun and the rocky shore full of animals

I took my son (12) and two nephews (11 and 14) who were visiting us from the States, to snorkel with Lydia at Goat Island. Her email communication was excellent, meeting directions were clear, and we were kitted out and given instructions without feeling rushed. The water was lovely and clear and we saw so many beautiful fish and lots of cool little jelly colonies called Salps. Lydia told us all about everything we saw and instilled a real sense of wonder and appreciation in the boys. She kept us all safe and made the trip interesting and fun! Recommended

I had a lot of fun snorkeling even though the water was pretty cold. The teacher was nice and helpfull, the information and tips provided were interesting. I can definetly recommend Saltwater Eco to everyone who wants to snorkel and learn a bit about nature.

Lydia was an amazing snorkelling guide for our experience in the Tawharanui marine reserve. We had a terrific time. Not only was Lydia knowledgable about marine life that we would see during our time in the ocean but we also got an education about the ocean ecosystem and the impacts of us humans on the environment. Lydia is super passionate about what she does and we were impressed with her dropping knowledge bombs on us about the marine reserve and the birds that were roaming the provincial park. It elevated the experience even more. She took some fantastic photos of us snorkelling as well as the marine life we encountered within. She is great at snorkelling at the pace that lets you enjoy it while also helping point out interest marine creatures so you don’t miss a beat. After we got back on shore, she provided some very welcoming water and date energy balls that were delicious. If that wasn’t enough to close out our time with Lydia, she recommended this oyster shack near the Tawharanui provincial park that was the perfect post-snorkelling snack. We were so thankful for her thoughtfulness. Overall, I would recommend Lydia if you are looking for an excellent and experienced snorkelling guide.

We surfed with the wonderful Saltwater Eco team this Saturday just been and everyone had an absolute blast! Lydia and Kirsty were extremely helpful, professional and fun. We are already looking at booking in again for our next corporate event - next time we will be sure to book in a longer session as we had so much fun :)

My two girls aged 11 and 8 had a 2 hour lesson with Paul on Saturday and absolutely loved it. Both girls were up and surfing waves almost straight away. We will hopefully be back for some more lessons!

Our family snorkel lesson for our family group ages 6-54 was a huge success, thanks Lydia! Lydia was able to cater for all ages and ability and ensure everyone was safe and had the best possible time. The kids were raving for days how awesome it was. Cannot recommend the Saltwater Eco team enough :)

Our family of 5, (3 x boys 7, 10 and 12) had three 2 hour surf lessons at Omaha with Paul from Saltwater Eco. We are now hooked and off to buy full wetsuits and boards for all of us. It was one of our most memorable family experiences and something we will treasure for a very long time. Paul was an outstanding teacher who inspired and encouraged the whole family. He motivated and supported one of our boys when he was getting frustrated and down on himself until he succeeded. We highly recommend Saltwater Eco to anyone considering learning to surf. It was an amazing experience.

This was our second experience with Saltwater Eco, I had waited a whole year to be visiting the area again and have the chance to go snorkelling with their company at Goat Island (last year we had a family surf lesson at Omaha). In fact I'd waited about 15 years for this - a bucket list experience. Lydia was fantastic, after making a phone call to Saltwater Eco right on closing time one day we were all signed up and confirmed for our preferred day without fuss and within minutes. Great service. We (two adults, one tween) took a private guided snorkel trip. We knew it would be cold in the water so we really appreciated the wetsuits. The intro on land was great to give us an idea of what we might see. Lydia took us out and found lots of fish that we wouldn't have noticed by ourselves, and gave us the confidence of how far and where to swim out to explore. The photos provided after the trip are a super and appreciated momento. It's a different experience to be amongst seaweed forests than tropical coral - it has inspired me to get in the cold water at the marine reserve close to where I live (next time there's a warm day!). We had so much fun and definitely recommend it for all the ladies out there wanting to learn to surf. Lydia is awesome as an instructor. She gives great tips, pays attention to detail, easy-going, caring, and fun to be around with. We had a great time :)

We took a snorkelling session with Lydia in Goat Island Marine Reserve. Parents and two adult children. Only one of us had snorkelled before. It was the absolute highlight of our holiday. Lydia was amazing. She prepped us well, the gear was good and we felt completely confident having her beside us. The real difference with Lydia, besides her easy, caring and reliable nature, was her love for, and wonderful knowledge of, the marine world. Quite apart from her ongoing guidance and explanations making the whole experience memorable, we were left with an appreciation of the ocean that we hadn’t had before. Lydia really wanted us to have a good time and a complete experience and the engagement with her company throughout from was the best. She even provided homemade bliss balls and water for us at the end of our snorkel. We couldn’t recommend more highly.
