- Pat R0 contributionsLamest Ghost Tour in the South!Well, our tour guide, Christopher (this little dude), was full of himself and made us feel uncomfortable! The tour was very long and boring, and we both were looking at our watches and couldn't wait for it to end! There was very little to see on this tour, and it didn't have to be so long! All the stories about the hauntings at the 4 or 5 sites we visited were lame! This tour would have been fine for grade school children, but not for adults! At one of the supposedly haunted locations was a bar. Christopher told us that if we went to this bar afterwards handed the bar tender our cardboard fan that we got on the tour, we'd get a discount which is called "Fan Club" by our guide! Well, the bartender said that he had never heard of True Tours and that no one from that tour ever comes to his bar anyway! He did give us the discount, but he went on to say that the drinks at that bar are so cheap that just going to this bar for a discount is hardly necessary! Seems cheap and cheesy, I know! And that's exactly how my wife and I felt about this tour!Written 25 April 2024
- Julia W0 contributionsOld Fort Myers Fun history tour!Seth was informative, educational and FUN!! He was so knowledgeable and the sights and history he gave us was awesome! Wear sneakers you are walking and standing the entire time! I’d do this tour again!Written 13 April 2024
- thenomadtravelet0 contributionsA Walk Down Memory LaneThis walking tour provides an excellent overview of the history of Fort Myers, Florida. Our docent was a man named "Seth". He has encyclopedic knowledge of Fort Myers' history. This walking tour lasts a full ninety minutes. Be prepared to stand for the entire time. Wear very, very comfortable walking shoes. Bring a beverage. Wear a hat. Do not take this tour on a hot and humid day !!!!Written 11 April 2024
- derekf6840 contributionsFort Myers Walking Tour!Seth gave a wonderful tour of downtown Fort Myers. We shared incredible insights into the area---including that the Fort Myers region was a hotbed for cattle. We were so happy with did this tour.Written 2 April 2024

- Bill G0 contributionsHistory of Ft Myers is much more than Ford and EdisonFriends came in from PA for visit and asked about the history of Ft Myers? Did some research before their arrival and booked this tour. Cannot believe that I have lived in SW Florida since 1991 and had no idea of the rich local history beyond Edison and Ford. The presentation and stops along the tour were outstanding and our guide, Seth Ford did an incredible job. He made things interesting and tied events to world and US history so we had better perspective of when things happened in Ft Myers. I would recommend every local book this tour for themselves or when they have friends in that have some interest in local history. Seth stayed and track but was happy to answer any questions that we asked when he knew the accurate details. Even offered to get back to us if he could not answer the question. Great customer experience from a local company and Seth Ford’s family history in area for generations brought excitement to the experience. Thanks for a great morning and we just walked across the street to Fords Garage in time for lunch.Written 30 March 2024

My snowbird neighbors are from Canada and thought they'd enjoy the historic walking tour of our city. They chose instead the Haunted Historic walking tour and it was a perfect choice. Not only was Seth a fabulous, knowledgeable and hilarious tour guide, but he knew the hot spots and the stories behind them! We highly recommend this tour- you won't be disappointed.

Took the Haunted History tour of Fort Myers last night. Jessica was very enthusiastic but she didn’t have her History down. She said Ft. Myers was less than a hundred years old when in fact it became a city in 1886. She also said that the Andrew D. Gwynne Institute was the main school board offices for Lee County when in fact it is an Annex owned by the district but hasn’t been used in years when the district offices moved off of Metro pkwy and took over the old Metro Mall. She might need a brush up on the history of each building for future tours.

Thank you for your comments
Our guides have extensive training in the history of Fort myers. Our tour has been reviewed for accuracy by 3 local historians for accuracy.
I checked in at the Gwynne office to see if they may have been affected by the hurricane and if I may not have realized they closed as you Said.
The Gwynne is still open and never moved . They are still owned by the Lee County school board and still operate as the not for profit arm
Hope you will join our History Tour one day. It's loaded with historically accurate information and delivered by a local 5th generation historian.

As fans of ghost stories this tour is fun and excellent. The tour guide Seth was very nice, funny and he knew a lot about Fort Myers. We really felt that he was passionate about his craft. During the tour we we're shown some great places and Seth also showed some evidence of possible paranormal sightings. We would recommend this if you are looking for some fun in Fort Myers and also to get a little tour of the place.

The guide was quite enthusiastic about the history of Ft. Myers. In fact, there was much more history than ghost as far as stories went, which is the reason for the average review. Had this tour been billed as a History walking tour, I would have rated it higher. Also, the guide seemed rushed, as if he was in a hurry to be someplace else. He encouraged questions and answered them all, but in a rushed manner. I have mobility issues and was nervous about slowing the group down when walking due to the guide's constant "let's go, let's move" attitude.

This was a fun experience. Seth gave us a lot of historical information about downtown Fort Myers including some spooky stuff. It was a very entertaining and enjoyable evening. And Seth grew up in Fort Myers and had personal stories about him and his brothers.

Things we enjoyed:
Learning some of the local history of Fort Meyers. Had a personal tour guide taking us into some nice photogenic backdrops
Things that didn't impress us:
There wasn't any real start or wrap up of any of the stories that were told along the tour. It was kinda scattered and hard to follow at times. There was nothing that put us in a situation to try to catch a 'ghostly' picture.
It wasn't anything like the ghost tours that our family has taken in other vacation destinations.
Highly disappointed.
I wouldn't recommend this tour.

What time would the tour start, is it a 24 hour tour or does it start at a certain time? I don’t want it to start or finish at a late time so if it was somewhat 9:30-ish when it finishes then that would be awesome.
Thank you

I have difficulty with walking distances of more than several blocks at one time, plus standing for more than 15-20 minutes at a time (age 76). Could the tour deal with these restrictions?
Written 25 March 2019
There was usually a spot to sit during the longer parts, my husband also has issues with standing too long and he found a place to sit. It's never more than a couple blocks at a time. Hope this helps!

Is the tour mostly on Boardwalk, Street, or sidewalk? I have a very small Mobility vehicle needed for longer walks. (ok on short walks / short standing) Doable?

Hello
We are ADA..accessible. We are on the sidewalks and the streets in downtown Fort Myers...

The tour meets outside of The Franklin Shops on First Street, downtown Fort Myers. 2200 First Street. You have to go into the store and they will check you in, Bonus, The Franklin Shops are AWESOME and have a ton of great items from local artists and designers!
Parking is pretty easy, there are a good deal of metered spots around the area, by that time of night the meters aren’t typically enforced.
A little hint, Bay Street, by The Arcade (Florida Reperatory Theater), has some great, easy, free street parking spots. It’s directly parallel to First, closer toward the water.
Enjoy!
