Overview
Snorkel with manatees in the Crystal River on a wildlife tour that gets you close to the West Indian Manatees that flock to the Crystal River's many freshwater springs. You'll learn about the remarkable manatees and the ecosystem they depend on, then slip into the water to see the manatees as they swim and feed. Wetsuits and all snorkeling equipment are included in this Crystal River manatee tour, with warm drinks served on board the boat.
What to Expect
Upon arrival at the dive shop, guests will be fitted for wetsuits and asked to watch a brief video from US Fish and Wildlife outlining their encounter with the manatees. The captain and guide will then take the group to the boat and embark all passengers and give a short safety brief. Once underway, the guide will further explain how to interact with the manatees once in the water and fit the guests with their masks and snorkels. While transiting to the swim areas, the captain and guide will present information about the area wildlife and what guests can expect to see during your tour. They will also answer questions and take pictures along the way. Once the vessel sights manatees, the captain will anchor the vessel and the group and guide will proceed into the water for your encounter. The guide will stay with the group the entire time, ensuring that the guests get the most out of their experience, all while taking photos and videos of your adventure!

We had a fantastic time with Captain Ron and Lauren, our in-the-water guide. The Other people in the tour didn't show up so it ended up being a private tour! Within minutes we found a mother and baby manatee and we were able to swim...More

My daughter and I went on the manatee swim tour today and had a blast! It’s not really manatee season but Captain Ron and Lauren (two awesome people!) managed to find a few and get us in the water with a very large girl. We...More

Right now, we here in and around Crystal River are fortunate enough not to be experiencing any of the issues the wildlife are dealing with further south. Our resident population of manatees is remaining healthy as are our... More

My boyfriend and i went in April. Whether you have an encounter with the Manatee, depends upon the water temps in the Gulf of Mexico. If its a cool October, and an early fall, maybe they will be coming in, to lounge around... More
