Red Canyon Loop Half Day Jeep Tour

    What to Expect
The Red Canyon Loop meanders through bright red towering spires and monoliths sculpted by the erosion of the fountain formation, a layer of sedimentary rock made famous by well-known areas such as Garden of the Gods. You’ll visit the Garden Park Fossil Area, famous for the excavation of many complete dinosaur skeletons, such as the Stegosaurus currently on display at the Smithsonian and the Brontosaurus currently on display at the Wagner Free Institute of Philadelphia and the site of the “Bone Wars” dating back to the late 1870s.
The trail will then start to climb up off the desert valley floor, through groves of junipers and cedars until picturesque views abound at every turn. A very short hike allows you to stretch your legs and get a view through “Overlook Arch” spanning high above Shaw Park. Then it is back to the jeep to study some dinosaur tracks, Indian petroglyphs and more awe-inspiring views. It is not uncommon to see wildlife such as mule deer, turkeys and an occasional bear throughout the tour.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please be sure to confirm your travel plans to Canon City before making a reservation for our jeep tours. Due to the very limited seating on the custom vehicles, payment in full is due at the time of the booking, and reservations made through TripAdvisor cannot be changed or cancelled once confirmed. The tour spent plenty of time on pavement as well as rocky terrain. My wife and I had an excellent time. Brandon was super knowledgable regarding the surrounding ranges and environment as well as the dinosaur history of the area. Would definitely recommend.More

Awesome! It sounds like Brandon hit the mark. Our guides spend a lot of time studying local history, geology, and paleontology for this very reason... to give our guests a lot of great information, in addition to showing you some of the most amazing scenery...More

This was a great off-road adventure. We were on paved roads, dirt roads, and crazy difficult off-roads. It’s a great way to experience Colorado’s countryside without having to walk.More

So glad you enjoyed the tour and that you didn't have to walk. (LOL, that comment made me giggle.) Thankfully, the boss invests in really great Cooper Discoverer STT tires for our jeeps, so we keep rolling along safely on those rocky off-road trails. I...More

Yay, Brandon! We have a lot of excellent and experienced guides on staff, but Brandon seems to be hitting out of the park the last few weeks with an abundance of 5-star guest comments. Thank you for sharing your review on TripAdvisor. I'll pass along...More

The main part of the tour does not have any drop offs, where you are driving on the edge of a cliff & looking into space. I do not like that kind of drive either. I was very comfortable on this tour. There are bumpy roads... More
