Exceeded our expectations beyond what I can say. My partner and I wanted to conquer Point Lenanna (ultimately Bateson and Nelion but we could not find/figure out how…until on our hike to Lenanna). Our route took us from Chogoria to Sirimon, a forest road to the road up to Old Moses camp (fourth night). I preferred this route as towards the end I was needing any signs of civilization as my shoulders were very sore and after 7 hours of hiking. We love camping in Colorado’s (United States) wilderness and so we brought our own tent, gear, and food. We had said we could bring our own food and otherwise try a few dishes. Boy were we impressed. First of all, we don’t usually have 3 course meals, 3 times a day but our team of 5 made sure we were well fed (carrying all of it up the same route!!), with hot water/coffee/tea at every meal and afternoon. Then we were astounded by the accommodations. First night was at a group camp with running water and beds. Second night we realized they also brought up a tent for us to relax/eat in, AND another, 4 person tent to sleep in. The third night was another night in the tent, but it started pouring just as we got to Mintos. Luckily they already had the dining tent set up. Fourth night was at a group camp again. They negotiated/worked with our budget, and drove us to Narok for an extra USD100 per person. I will be finding a way in my budget to make room for their exceptional service.

Exceptional experience climbing Mt Kenya - Peter (Wachira) was a superb guide, during some sticky situations (snow storm) Peter remained calm and got us safely to summit and back. Peter always checked on us throughout the days to make sure everything was OK, a great young guide ! I was referred to Arch Trek from Habari Adventures in Tanzania (so immediately I felt like they have some street cred). I had reached out to a few different groups prior who came in with prices ranging from +20k to much more reasonable. I reached out to James from Arch Trek for a final request, he was quick to respond and always seemed like he was trying to find me the best price for what I was requesting. I requested an 11 day private tour (yes, he can make something custom happen for you) and James was able to give me the most affordable option quoted to me (this included 3 other groups that show up at the top 10 of the google searches). I made the assumption that because of the price I'd be in middle or lower tier accommodations. I was blown away when I realized at Samburu that all the places I would be staying were incredible (luxury level, really nice, incredibly classy). It was then I realized just how far James was able to make my money go with him. James organized an amazing trip, a fantastic driver (hands down amazing), and was incredibly easy to work with when I decided to change my agenda to spend more time at Masai Mara. If I return to Kenya I will be going directly to Arch Trek again to handle the logistics. Money well spent for an amazing adventure. Great company! James the owner knew exactly what route for me to take based on experience. My support team of 4 was fantastic. My guide, Richard told me he'd get me to the peak and down safely, and he did...he also knew every plant and animal species I asked about. The chef was incredible...vegetarian food was great and my porters were so happy to help me succeed. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future...and I will!

I had an amazing time during my family trip to Kenya. Arch Treks and Safaris provided a safe, fun, once in a lifetime experience. We had a large group so had multiple cars/drivers, we loved them all. All of the accommodations were wonderful, we not only saw many animals on our drives but were learning about animals and plants from our guides during the drives. Our time in Nairobi was also carefully crafted and wonderful. The trip was planned to perfection- the perfect amount of days at Mara Serena and the perfect amount of time exploring Nairobi. Our trip included game drives, a hot air balloon safari, a nature walk, hike and visit to a Masai village. Our time in Nairobi included an informational tour of the city and a couple museum stops. Even the stops to and from Nairobi/Mara Serena were planned to perfection- moments to grab a snack, use the bathroom and stretch your legs while picking up a souvenir or two. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend using Arch Treks and Safaris!

My husband and I are experienced hikers but we were concerned about how the altitude would affect us because of our age and our home altitude (Florida). It was a challenging hike but we had a wonderful experience. Our main guide, George, patiently paced our steps to minimize our chances of getting altitude sickness (we did take meds). With his help and the support of the assistant guide, two porters and a marvelous chef we made it to point Lenana! We felt pampered and safe by Arch Safaris.

This trek was fully accommodated, porters, a chef and a guide. The trek itself was incredible and I highly recommend. James was wonderful at coordinating the trip and very accommodating with plan changing, budget, gear, and transportation. The team was wonderful as well. Beautiful scenery, slow and steady pace that allowed us to acclimate, friendly and knowledgeable guide, tasty and plentiful food. James, the owner, was super helpful in providing the gear we lacked to ensure our trek was a success.

10 years after my last safari, last October I decided to return to Kenya again and I started looking for a tour operator to organize the trip. On the advice of my friends Paolo and Chiara, I turned to James Kariuki's Arch Treks and Safaris agency. I sent an e-mail to James about the itinerary I had in my mind and he quickly got me a quote. Then, in the following days, we continued to write to each other to better specify the itinerary and accommodations; James was very good and patient in organizing a safari tailored to our needs. The safari included 3 days in the Samburu National Park, one day at lake Baringo and one day at lake Bogoria. At the end of January 2023 we met at the airport in Nairobi and started the journey that was perfect in every aspect. In all my safaris in Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi, it is the first time that the trip has run smoothly without the slightest hiccup. Our guide was very good at spotting animals; the jeep was well maintained it was clean, it had 2 spare wheels, a refrigerator and electrical sockets on board. In short, when I decide to go back to Kenya for a new safari, I will immediately know who to contact. Thanks for everything James!

It was a life dream to visit Mount Kenye finally happened this May 2022, We was a group of 8 Kilimanjaro mountain guides and Kenyans friends, We did 5 days via Chogoria route exit through Naremuro gate, After then a day tour to giraffe center and Nairobi national park For sure it was really amazing trip and new experience as guides to be guided, Much appreciate to Arch treks and safaris always will be my best recommendation, Thanks James Kariuki for being patient and showing us the really love.
