Edwin and Oscar best tour guides ever
Edwin and Oscar the best tour guides ever We had the best time in Uyuni with Edwin our tour guide and Oscar our brave driver . We booked private 3 days 2 nights tour. Both of them went all in and out. Definitely made our trip unforgettable. Edwin was very informative when we’re going and what we were doing. I don’t even know how they kept us on schedule. Felt like we saw so much and did a lot in just few days. Even in the middle of nowhere Edwin and Oscar made sure I had gluten free options. They made sure we were prepared for high altitude. We took endless pictures , saw most of the animals, had romantic full moon, sunsets and sunrises. Edwin is fluent in English and Spanish. He was very helpful when buying or asking questions with locals. Oscar was a great driver. Both did amazing job keeping us safe and sound. Highlights of the trip was spending long time in hot spring looking at flamingos. When in Uyuni , you must book the team Edwin and Oscar . They are both very caring and generous. Always insisted for us to enjoy the view and they took care of our meals, bags and mess haha very thoughtful and memorable. Edwin share a lot of history and facts with us not only about the area but also the country and what it’s like to live in Uyuni. Really enjoyed the trip. Thank you both for making it a trip of a lifetime!

Incredible experience on the Salt Flats
Firstly thanks to our amazing Driver and guide Jose, who did a wonderful job. He was very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm and passion and took pride in delivering his job well. At each stop he would brief us and then give us time for photos, he would also prepare meals and paid attention to detail in presentation. Jose was a very careful driver and always kept checking his tyres and condition of the vehicle. The accommodation was very comfortable and we had private rooms and bathrooms. The meals too were very good. I fell ill on the 2nd day, and Jose was always attentive and brought special tea for me and was sensitive to my illness. I would highly recommend Andes salt expeditions as the tour covered many vistas and points of interest which was incredible and was a jam packed itinerary. I wish Jose all the very best in his career and highly recommend him as a caring, intelligent and responsible person.

An amazing Salt Flats tour. Highly recommended.
My partner and I had the best 3-day Uyuni Salt Flats tour with Andes Salt Expedition. Raquel Gris, our tour guide, was just amazing, caring and knowledgeable. She put us at ease, explained each day's itinerary, warned us of clothes to wear, imparted facts and figures relating to Bolivian flora, fauna and government. Gregorio, our driver, did a sterling job keeping us on the road. All in all, a terrific experience. Take extreme-harsh winter clothes with you!

        Great tour
Great tour, Raquel went to a lot of effort and was great personality, she worked really hard. The food isn't great, but you are in Bolivia where very little is, totally fine for the trip. The accommodation is basic, but totally fine. It's cold, wrap up warm, nothing too surprising. The only real downer was being stuck at dinner with the most loud, obnoxious and entitled group of young English kids who nobody could stand. Nothing to do with the tour, but they were awful, definitely on podium for worst travellers I've ever seen.

        Such a cool experience!
We had a great time with Andes Salt Expeditions (ASE) and our guide Juan! The Salt Flats are truly otherworldly and ASE knows how to show you around. We did the 2 day/1 night tour with an English speaking guide. We did a lot more on our tour than we were anticipating! Our itinerary was: Day 1 Train graveyard Lunch at a salt hotel Perspective photos Hiking on Cactus Island Watch sunset/reflection photos Check in to our Salt Hotel and dinner Day 2 Up at 5 am to take star photos an watch sunrise Breakfast back at Salt Hotel Tour of a calcium mine Lunch in Coqueza Hike up a to view a volcano (3 miles RT, 1263 ft elevation, 14,309 ft max elevation) Drive back (2 hours) to Uyuni Definitely recommend ASE for a visit to Uyuni and the Salt Flats.

        Great experience
I had a great time with Andes Salt Expedition, our guide Juan and driver Angel. The trip exceeded my expectations which were already set very high. I liked the fact that the trip was so diverse, experiencing the salt flat, taking photos with the mirror effect (which I thought was not possible as I read online the mirror effect is only available certain months, but as explained by Juan, there are certain pools available all year around) and the perspective photos which was great fun, to the hike we did at Tunupa volcano and visiting the devil’s cave and isla incahuasi. It was great fun, and I ended up in a great group. It was a trip I will always remember.

Zero consideration for dietary needs and disgusting staff behaviour
My sister recently went on this tour. While the tour itself was fine, she had dietary requirements and the staff were completely rude about helping to cater for her requirements. Even after she alerted them to her needs multiple times before the trip, and they confirmed they can cater. They lied about what food was and wasn’t appropriate for her to eat, and didn’t understand at all that any animal meant it was a meat, and were meats that she couldn’t eat, so she had to be very careful with what they provided. And at the end, after fighting a lot, she managed to get a partial refund but the staff made it very difficult and intimidating for her to leave. They blocked the exit door, she had to push through to get out. They even said to her, when she tried to explain that her dietary needs are life threatening, that she didn’t die of bad driving so she should count herself lucky. They clearly have no understanding of anything besides omnivores. While many that go with this company may be fine with their dietary requirements, the company’s behaviour showed just how chauvinistic and inconsiderate the staff are. Beware!

        Simply perfect!
Probably the greatest tour I ever took. The two days are packed with highlights, the timing is adjusted to the travelers, always enough time to enjoy the beauty of this incredible place. Nice overnight stay, good food and surprising snacks. Big shout out to guide Edvin and driver Blas. Those two guys made it an unforgettable experience. Muchas gracias! Saludos de Austria!

3 Day Salt Flat Tour Highly Recommend.
We had a great time on our 3 day Salt Flats tour. What made our tour excellent was our tour guide, Henry. He went above and beyond to deliver quality service while being a fun source of laughs and conversations. Like the other tour guides at Andean Salt Expeditions, he took great photos and was very accomodating to our needs. Highly recommend.

        Amazing tour!
Jose and Jesus we fantastic guides throughout the trip. We had an incredible time on the 3D2N tour - a lot of the really good parts, like the red lagoon, you only seen with the extended tours. Bucket list stuff and would highly recommend the company and our two guides!

        Awe inspiring landscape
My wife and I did the 2 day / 1 night medium tour and it was absolutely fantastic. The landscape is breathtaking and the tour was very professionally organised from start to finish. Our guide Juan and driver Angel were brilliant! They were informative, kind and extremely helpful. We wouldn't have been able to take the photos and videos we did without them. If you have the opportunity, take this trip - you won't regret it.

Writing this review again because it didn’t seem to post the first time… we did the one day salt flats tour with Christian and it was one of the best days of our holiday. Christian went above and beyond to make our day great, from curating amazing pictures to making sure we saw sunset by the lakes. I have never seen such beauty before as I did in Uyuni. Thank you Christian and Andean salt flats tour for the most amazing day!

We had a brilliant time on the 1 day salt flats tour with Israel and Fernando. Israel was a great guide and photographer, spoke good English, kept the group (split between 2 cars) on time and was a lot of fun. Fernando was also an excellent driver and the 4x4 was fitted with seatbelts. We visited the train cemetery and Colchani (for a short stop to hear about how salt is refined and processed for sale). We then spent lots of time on the flats for photos, lunch at the salt hotel, visited Incawasi Island, and finally wine and snacks before returning to Uyuni at 8pm. They also checked onward bus times of everyone in the group to ensure we were back in time for anyone travelling that evening.

We think the 1 day tour is a great option for anyone not planning on transferring on to Chile (San Pedro de Atacama) or who is short on time or money. We heard from others that the longer tours involve A LOT of driving, particularly on the final day if you are returning to Uyuni.

Overall it was a really special day and a highlight of our South America trip!

One of the coolest trip I have ever done!! Everything was just perfect. We arrived to Uyuni early in the morning and we were led to warm restaurant to spend 2-3h before our trip starts in a cosy place. Trip was well organized. We had a fantasist guide ISRAEL who was fluent in Spanish and English. He did everting he could to accommodate individual needs of all group members and he helped us with taking millions of great and original pictures. He alone prepared nice lunch and in the night he surprised us with a cosy wine + snack gathering at the sunset. On the way back he on purposed drove slowly and suddenly he stopped the car just to show us a Milky Way and thousands of other stars on a sky. Truly unforgettable experience. Thank you Israel for a wonderful day!

One of my favourite days in South America so far! The salt flats are absolutely beautiful and the sunset is worth it just it’s self! Our tour guide Fernando pulled out all the stops, providing a bottle of red, snacks and table and chairs to watch the sunset. He was very very professional and even extracted some salt crystals for us!

I paid for an English speaking guide, but unfortunately they didn’t have one so they paid me back my money, which is very reasonable and Fernando tried to speak some English anyway.

      An amazing day! Thanks Fernando!

This is an absolute must-see place with a tour company that tours the salt flats perfectly.

Our guide, Axel, is one of my favourite people I've met on our travels and was incredibly informative, funny and helpful during our tour: he gave us sufficient time to appreciate the environment, and gave us really insightful details into the importance of the area and the processing of salt.

On top of this, himself and Oscar put in a lot of effort to help us get pictures and videos that we will treasure forever - a big thank you to you both!!

We ate a delicious lunch at the flats, and then watched the sunset whilst drinking a delicious bottle of Bolivian red wine. All of this meant we had ample time to chat and get to know the rest of the lovely group.

There was a slight miscommunication between myself and the office RE what time we needed to get back to the coach (mostly my fault), but Axel was able to accommodate us last minute to get our coach back, which we REALLY appreciate. Thank you Axel!

This tour was one of the best decisions of my life! Harry(excuse me if I get his name wrong), was so exceptional at telling us everything about the salt flats and it’s unique peculiarities! He was also a master photographer. There is so much history in this small town, and so much beauty! I HIGHLY recommend this tour - not only for the beautiful views and pictures, but for the experience of a lifetime with a local expert.

This tour was an enjoyment and totally exceeded our expectations thanks to our tour guide Behimar. We did what was in the itinerary and each stop was given just enough time to do private activity and group activity. We love the sit down lunch at a salt restaurant area. They made a table and brought properly cooked meat, egg pancakes, vegetables and fruits. Very delicious. We also did a lot of funny shots and videos on salt flats which is genius in design by Behimar. We had so much fun. Then we went to the fish island and just before the sun went down we reached the wet area where we can do the mirror effect photos. It was amazing and we didn't expect that we could do it in the dry season but it all happened. Thank you Behimar and Andes Salt Expeditions, you have given us the best day in Bolivia

This was a great way to see the salt flats in a small group tour. Our guide Alejandro was informative, came with contextual visual aids and kept us informed about what to expect at every juncture. Our driver Fernando was a super photographer and laid out wine and snacks while we watched the sunset.
Only suggestion to improve the tour would be to tarp up our excess bags so they don't get caked with salt on the roof rack.

This trip was brilliant, one of the best tours we’ve done in South America. The guides Fernando and Axel were very knowledgeable and friendly. They took us to many different parts of the Salt Flats, told us about the history and helped us take pictures and videos. I would 100% recommend this tour, the reflective sunset was beautiful, something not to be missed.

With this tour you can expect a day full of wonderful, breathtaking and unforgettable impressions. We booked the one day tour to the salt flats and were out from 10:30am to 8pm including a good lunch (vegetarian option possible). We can only recommend this tour! A huge thanks to our great tour guide and professional photographer for optical illusions on salt flats, Eduardo! 🙏

P.s: To Germans who plan to do the tour to the salt flats, take a German flag 🇩🇪 with you - it's still missing from all the flags next to the Dakar Monument.
