- Michelle L0 contributionsRichard was a great tour guideRichard was a terrific tour guide. We did this on the last day of our trip, and had already visited Michu Picchu a few days earlier, and toured the Temple of the Sun on our own, so it was great to round out those experiences with a guided tour of the other sites and museum. Richard picked us up from our hotel promptly and took us on a private tour. He answered all of our questions and some things we didn’t know to ask. The sites are spectacular although we were surprised that none of them seem to an active archeological dig site. We were repeatedly told that the walls are another 9 feet down under the earth that we cannot see, and there appeared to be no current plan to reclaim this part of the site. Seems like a missed opportunity for Peru, but we were very happy with this experience.Written 26 May 2024
- Water S0 contributionsBreathtaking, in more ways than one!The most spiritual experience I had in Peru was at this mountain. The altitude brought me visions and I could feel the energy of this place so strongly. I resonated with the Incas and their beliefs and felt very connected. Our private tour was intimate and our guide was very knowledgeable. I will return to this place again.Written 13 October 2023
- Lionheart512880 contributionsPalcoyo Mountains Day HikePalcoyo Mountains is part of the Rainbow Mountains it a 3:30 hours drive from Cusco, but it is somewhat easier, marked trails, shorter, less crowded, and lower altitude. Our guide, driver, and hiking guide for this hike was Ricardo. We are still somewhat acclimating to the altitude so we are not the fastest hikers and he was patient with us and matched our slow pace. We didn’t feel rushed at any point during our hike. He kept asking us if we are okay and how we are feeling. He even lent us his walking sticks for each of during the hike and he was our translator when we interact with the locals to get some pictures with Alpacas and Llamas. As our driver going to and from the hike, we felt very safe too and his car is cleaned and well kemp. He arrived in our hotel on time and he was able to drop off us at our hotel on time as well. Overall it’s a fun experience but it’s not for everyone since it’s a high altitude hike it can be risky especially to those who have heart problems.Written 20 July 2023
- G5869SIpc0 contributionsTickets are deceptiveWebsite to purchase ticket is horrible. They show very little availability and high price when I purchased the ticket. It was a ticket where date change was allowed. Couple of days later, the price is almost 50% down (From $2600 to $1656). When I asked for refund as changes were allowed, it was denied. As a consumer you feel ripped off just in a couple of days. Date change is allowed for same price or higher but if price goes down it does give you refund. That too in a couple of days later. $1000 is a big difference.Written 21 April 2023

- Companion3782320 contributionsGlorious PeruEverything was great because we booked with Kaypi tours. From the very beginning Franco was wonderful answering questions about what to expect, wear, eat, flights. Excellent price for the trip; love the airfare included! Renzo was our wonderful guide. Knows the backstory of all the places, Peru in general and especially Machu Picchu. It was a great experience to stay with families; learning how they live, eat, and, amazingly climb up and down the steep paths to the villages. Fab photos, memories, and souvenirs! Best story: bulls on rooftops. Thank you Kaypi, Franco and trillions of kudos to Renzo!!!!!Written 1 September 2022
- bdeshi_gemini0 contributionsUncommunicative and UnreliableUnresponsive and unreliable company. Booked the private Cusco city tour weeks in advance, but did not receive any sort of notification nor communication before the tour. Tried WhatsApp and phone calls by the hotel concierge about 2.5 hours before the scheduled trip, but received no responses. So in desperation we went with a tour arranged by the hotel. Then suddenly they mentioned through WhatsApp that they appeared about half an hour after we left the hotel, then claimed that we “walked out” on them. After manyWritten 31 August 2022
- mariacQ2796AH0 contributionsGreatRichard was our guide to visit the Rainbow Mountain. His service was nothing short of excellence. He picked us up at our hotel at 3:00 am in order for us to be the first one to get there. We were able to enjoy the walk without anyone around. He took the time to explain the importance of the Mountain and how sacred it was. He was very confident that we will conquer the top & we did. I will 100 % recommend him for anyone looking to have a great time. We made it back to our hotel with plenty of time to still enjoy the day. Thank you Richard.Written 21 July 2022
