The journey to Edoras was long but was worth it. Nick was very informative. Cafe for morning tea was great and lunch was good.

The views were amazing. Our tour guide Nick was excellent with his knowledge about the region and his cheerfulness as well as thoughtfulness. He took good care of the guests.

We were part of a bus tour shore excursion, from Princess Cruises. It went from 12:30-4pm. Picked up from the Lyttelton dock in a double decker bus. We went to the Cashmere hill lookout, for a view overlooking Christchurch. Then a tour around Christchurch, with a stop at the Mona Vale Garden Park. Quite beautiful. Then a tour through Sumner, on our way to a scenic drive back to the cruise port. My simplistic review doesn’t do this tour justice. It was a great tour. Far better than I was expecting. On the bus taking care of us in driving or guide responsibilities, were Linda, John, and Nick. Both guiding, and bus driving, were great. Thank you.

I had an absolute blast on this tour with Nick. He is very knowledgeable about LotR and the Canterbury region, along with being a very considerate guide. Nick had a few props to play with (swords, axe, and Rohan flag) which made it even better. One thing to note is that the Edoras set has been demolished, so you will be visiting where the set was built. if you aren't a LotR fan and want to see some scenic views around Christchurch without having to drive, I still highly recommend this tour. There were a few stops made at different photogenic areas, and even the view from the vehicle was amazing (mountains popping up in the background, Lake Camp etc). - Copied from my review on Viator

I went this trip booked with the cruise ship I was on. Wonderful scenery through to Middle Earth and to where Edoras was built on the hill for King Theoden. Amazing to think the parts of Lord of the Rings was filmed there. Beautiful scenery with clear river running through. Stunning.

Excellent guide and beautiful trip. I'm not a LOTR fan myself but rather went just for the scenery and was not disappointed. Our guide was very knowledge and entertaining. Learnt a lot about the filming of LOTR along with the history of the area. Overall it was fantastic experience and one I'd highly recommend

Great experience to see where they had the Riders of Rohan capital, Edoras… While the weather was a little wet, the Tour Guide Nick really brought the experience to life… I highly recommend it for even non-LOTR fans, as the scenery & experience of climbing Mt Sunday was special

Firstly, Cheryl was an absolute dream tour guide. Funny, thorough, kind, and knowledgeable . She made a beautiful day, even better. There was some confusion about pickup times and places, but we got there in the end and had the most glorious day. LOTR fan or not, book this tour if you want sublime views, landscape, a small group experience, and a caring tour operator.

Excellent tour, highly recommend. Nicolas was an exceptional tour guide. Very engaging and informative. We had a full tour of all ages and physical abilities, and at no point did anyone not feel fully included. The tour itself was amazing, especially as big LOTR fans. Also, I really appreciate how they were able to cater for eveyone (in addition to gluten-free, we had vegan, lactose free, and nut allergies in our group, but lunch was provided for all dietary restrictions). Bonus points for a mini tour of the city on the way way. Thanks for a brilliant day!

Double Deck Bus tour of Christchurch from Lyttelton Harbour. We had Linda and Rex as our tour guides. They were informative and funny as well. Great information and sightseeing. The Double Decker bus was great. We booked this tour because of its great ratings and were definitely not disappointed. Thanks for a great day out!

The drive in our off road vehicle was well worth the trip to Edoras! The views were amazing! A must see for all LOTR fans!!!

Edoras itself was amazing and spectacular. It is a must see. But the tour itself is a bit meandering and could really do with some shortening. It is a far drive but there’s just too much extraneous things and most people are short on time when traveling through the country.
