Overview
Shanghai’s diverse food scene can be daunting for first-time visitors. Opt for an authentic taste of Shanghai on a food tour, a great cultural introduction to China’s second city. Sample a dozen traditional Shanghai dishes—noodles, buns, and soup dumplings—and receive restaurant recommendations to enjoy throughout your vacation. Morning, lunch, evening, and late-night tours allow you to fit this Chinese food experience into any travel itinerary.
What to Expect

Greet your guide at the designated meeting point at the time you selected when you booked your tour. As you walk toward the recently restored Xintiandi food area, your guide provides an introduction to the culinary culture of Shanghai.

Over the course of the tour, you’ll sample dumpling soup, spring rolls, candied lotus rice, roasted duck, and many more local specialties. See, too, the bustling Yunnan Road, and cleanse your palate with cups of green and black tea between each stop.

This Shanghai food tour ends on Yunnan Road, where you can keep exploring the city on your own or call it a day.

More than a foodie tour!

We are so glad we booked this afternoon walking tour. Jim Wang met us at our meeting spot and we began our walk exploring a variety of neighborhoods with stops along the way to drink and taste the flavors of Shanghai. We began at a...More

Horrible doesn't begin to describe this!

Qualification: our guides were very good and pleasant. The first stops for some craft beers was good. But it went WAY downhill from there. We stopped at holes in the wall that you would NEVER go into. In fact, being able to see into the...More

Shanghai city of lights

Beautiful food for great prizes. I enjoyed my visit to Shanghai, colourful and clean. Their are markets GALORE to visit and the street food is superb. I loved the jade and satin factories as well as the pearls.

Jim was a fantastic guide who taught us much about local culture, business, and of course shanghai cuisine. it was amazing to see the quality of food come out of tiny little restaurants with a few tables and a kitchens with hardly any space to...More

Great tour, great company, great food

Jim was a pleasure to talk with. He took our small group (5, plus him) to place we'd never have found. The food and the glimpse of life in Shanghai were both enriching and accessible. Best Pork soup dumplings ever!!
