Itinerary

After pickup from your Kuala Lumpur hotel, relax on the drive to Malacca (Melaka). Your first stop is the 17th-century Stadthuys, a remnant of Dutch history, before you climb St. Paul’s Hill to the 16th-century St. Paul’s Church. View the ruins of A Famosa, a Portuguese fortress that’s one of the oldest pieces of European architecture, and then ask your guide for a lunch recommendation.

Continue your tour on Jonker Street, the heart of Chinatown, which is famous for shopping. After you’re done browsing traditional wares like clog shoes, stop at Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, a Chinese temple that practices three religions: Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. From here, drive back to Kuala Lumpur.

A step back in time

We loved our trip to Malacca. It is full of history and a great place to see how the mix of cultures in Malaysia work together. There are still lots of antiquated standing stuctures. One of our favourites was Saint Peters Church on the top...More

We opted for a one day private tour to Malacca as a last minute decision and found the tour through Tripadvisor/Viator by Tripmakersonline Tours & Travels. 1. The pickup was bang on time (as were we, waiting in the lobby) 2. The car was newish,...More

I would say ask it is all down to the available cars or vans. Certainly the tour is able to cope with 7 people.
