Overview

Xi'an is the capital of China’s Shaanxi Province, famous for its ancient terra-cotta army of 3rd-century sculpted soldiers. Most guided tours focus solely on the UNESCO World-Heritage clay troops, but you’ll have the option of adding on two other cultural sights during this fully customizable excursion. You can top off your terra-cotta army visit with stops at Banpo Museum, Muslim Street, or Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

What to Expect

Most travelers come to Xi'an, the capital of China’s Shaanxi Province and the former terminus of the famed Silk Road, to see the terra-cotta armies. The lifelike 3rd-century clay soldiers, representing the troops of the First Emperor of China, earn their place as one of the country’s greatest attractions—and a UNESCO-World Heritage site.

But the history-filled city boasts other, less visited marvels. During this fully customizable private day trip, you’ll have the option of adding two other cultural visits to your tour of the terra-cotta army, allowing you to go deeper into the heart of Xi'an. You’ll have six options to choose from, so you can skip the hassles by selecting your own tailor-made itinerary.

You might decide to take a soak at Huaqing Hot Springs or explore the city’s diverse religious heritage along Muslim Street. You’ll also have world-class museums to choose from, including the collections at Shaanxi and Banpo. With all of your transfers covered in a private vehicle and round-trip hotel pickup included, you’ll be free to simply focus on the sights.
