Terracotta Army site & museum, Ancient City Walls, Great Wild Goose Pagoda, Muslim Quarter and shopping for a camera
Lily is an extraordinary guide, her deep knowledge of Xian and surroundings, their history and their landmarks, her excellent English and friendly personality made the tour very enjoyable ... in addition Lily went way beyond her duty to help me solve problems unrelated to her tour ... I had broken my main camera in Taipei and wanted find a possible replacement ... Lily found a well stocked photography store (not easy in a country where most people think cell phones are cameras) which carried the brand I wanted and also shipped a couple of museum guide books back to me in Canada (which involved packaging the books and handling the post office/customs forms) ... this was a BIG contribution to make my visit to Xian a very special trip that I will always remember ... Lily also has a very good driver with a clean and modern vehicle ... Josef Hochleitner, Toronto

Ride the Tuktuk and taste Xi’an food
This is my second food tour in Xi’an and Buren, our tour guide took me to many places and tasted many dishes. All is good. It’s one of the best way to try the Xi’n tastes on Tuktuk.

          Excellent experience, highly recommend!
Michael is a walking encyclopaedia. Throughout the tour, he did not miss a beat to provide us with the most precious details behind every artefact, site or monument. The rich knowledge of history as well as the convenient transportation made this tour one that I can recommend to anyone visiting Xi’an.

Excellent, fun, efficient, food tour. Would definitely do it again.
I did a wonderful evening food tour with Michel Chang. I highly recommend doing this and I would definitely do it again. We tried so many delicious dishes and Michael did an excellent job of explaining the food and the history and answered lots of questions I had about everything!! We went to places that I would not have known to go, or been able to efficiently go all around town, and had dishes I would not have known to try!!! Thank you Michael and thank you Lilys tours

Amazing Historical Sites and Excellent Tour Guide
The highlight of this tour was the historical sites of the two terracotta armies. There is so much history in Xi’an and our tour guide was professional and provided very good explanation. Our tour guide and the drive provided excellent services. Our group totally enjoyed this two-day tour. The only improvement I want to suggest would be more timely response from the tour operator. I was asked to communicate via WhatsApp. I sent a couple of messages to the tour operator and noticed after 24+ hours that the messages were still not being read. Eventually, I asked the tour guide to relate my messages to the tour operator and obtained the answers through the tour guide.

I went hiking to Mt.Huashan. I really loved it, the views are spectacular. It is really a once in a lifetime experience. I went there with tour guide Michael Chang from Xi’an. He really made the experience a lot better. He is a great tour guide. I would really recommend booking with him.

Best city tour in Xi'an! Recommended
Totally recomended tour in Xi'an! My guide, Michael, was superb! Nice guy, friendly, easy talk, very good English, and great guide. He continuously shared interesting facts about every place we visit, as well as suggestions of other things to do to make my stay in Xi'an more enjoyable. Food was also great, and Michael recommended some very traditional Xi'an dishes which were very tasty. Michael even dropped me off in a very nice area that evening as per my request, after we finished the tour, and gave me some tips about things to do, which ended up being one of the best moments I had in the city. 100% recommended!

Great way to spend evening in Xi’an
I highly recommend the tour guide Michael and lilys tours. Michael took me to several places via tuk tuk and alleys and we ordered a lot of food. All the places were good and seemed popular with locals and covered a lot of variety. Michael is a great host offering beer when available and ordering from places along the way if I pointed to something and said it looked good. I think this is a really nice way to spend a night in xi’an. I also highly recommend lily’s tours. Communication of logistics could not have been better.

          ⚜️ Exploring Emmie Takes Xi’an ⚜️
My day tour of Xi’an was pleasant thanks to my guide, Michael. It was holiday but we had an early start to the day which was helpful in beating the crowd. I loved everything Xi’an and got to see the major landmarks (Terracotta Army, city wall and Muslim quarter) and tried very delicious food all in a day’s work. As a history buff, seeing the Terracotta Army was a dream come true for me. Michael was Passionate, Personal, Present and well Prepared! He was thoughtful of my needs as a solo traveller (taking pictures, going to restroom etc.). He impressed me with his knowledge about the overall historical development of Xi’an - from ancient to modern city. I learned a lot, and had an overall good experience 🤩💯 Thanks to Michael, the driver and Lily. Best wishes, Emmie from South Africa

Michael was an amazing tour guide, 100% recommend, - he is professional, knowledgeable, kind and truly cares about his clients. I didn’t book this tour on time but he still managed to add me to a small private tour. If I had gone without Michael, I would have no idea where, when to go but also would never had learned the vast and interesting knowledge he gave. There was never a question he wasn’t able to answe, and he was always very caring. Michael made my Xian experience unforgettable, I feel very lucky to have been able to be toured by him as he went above and beyond true customer service. Highly recommended - you can’t get better than this.

          Wonderful time and guide
A highly recommended guided tour as the tour guide is not only professional, but also super-friendly and facilitating every aspect of your trip! Always answering questions concerning every nook and cranny of historical sites, he also covers a broader spectrum of cultural information and clarifies the links between the old and the new, the underlying nuances of every historical era and its idiosyncracies. Water is constantly provided, trips to the restroom are made easy as they are ubiquitous and the guide points out their whereabouts frequently, not to mention that he is very attentive when it comes to cooling down the car in advance by turning on the air-conditioning while you wait for him under the shade. This is Chinese hospitality at its best, with authentic local flavours at a traditional restaurant (very affordable prices) highlited by traditional farewell gifts! A huge shout out goes to the tour guide for carefully planning the time of the terracota warriors visit in the late hours of the afternoon, avoiding massive crowds and ensuring we had space to marvel at the view of the artifacts, taking photos and savouring the experience.

          Food tour with Michael Chang
I took the Tuk Tuk food tour with the wonderful Michael Chang, and it was so much fun! He really knows his way around the markets and the city and knows the best places to try some for the food that Xi’an is famous for. The places that we went were not tourists places, which was really great. I really enjoyed trying different things that maybe I wouldn’t know/ or try on my own. I highly recommended to take this tour and going back home with a full and happy tummy like I did :)

I had an excellent day with Jackie on this amazing tour. He was very informative and able to speak to with ease as there was a driver. Jackie was very knowledgeable about the sites visited, and also about life in Xi'an . The Hangyaling museum was very interesting and very evocative and not at all busy. In contrast, the visit to the terracotta warriors was very crowded, but Jackie was extremely helpful in helping me negotiate the crowds and deal with tickets, gates etc. The lunch and cave house were also both enjoyable. Thank you Jackie for an excellent day!

Loved this tour and this tour guide. I will definitely be booking Michael with Lily’s Tours again. His English was perfect and he was so friendly and accommodating. We had time at the end of the tour so he took us to see the Xi’an City Wall. He took us to lunch at a noodle restaurant in Xi’an and shared the love of his culture with us.

Jackie was great fun, with lots of information, even relating the dynasty eras to relative times in British history.
He was easily understood, and has a good command of the English language.
The vehicle had a dedicated driver, so Jackie could interact during the trip.

My family and I had an amazing time with Jackie. From the first moment he met us in our hotel lobby he was energetic and aware—he talked with us the entire car ride to the Terracotta Warriors and gave us cultural insight on living in China that we wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else. His knowledge of Xi'an history is vast and he was immediately willing to look up the things he didn't know—or to get us in contact with experts who would know. The Terracotta Warriors were, of course, amazing and the Cave Home was a fun detour, but everyone loved the Hanyangling Museum best.

I think the biggest compliment I can give to Jackie was how his kindness wasn't just reserved for his paying customers (us) but for everyone around him. He made it a point of picking up the litter he saw and at one point he went out of his way to help a couple from Spain make sure they would know how to get to the airport. His genuine enthusiasm for his city, history, and the people around him was engaging and heartfelt. We would 100% book a tour with Jackie again.

Jackie was our friendly guide for the day. He is extremely knowledgeable and happily shared a lot of great information about the Terracotta Warriors, Hanyangling Museum and Xi'an in general. His enthusiasm and energy maintained throughout the day. Both he and the driver kept us safe, on time and ensured our tour was very much enjoyed and one to remember!

This tour was great in that we not only got to visit the 'must see' Terracotta Warriors, but also the Hanyangling Museum, which we highly recommend. The Hanyangling Museum is presented in a modern facility and, as you walk over the glass bottom floor of the museum, you can see into the pits below, with pottery warriors, chariots, horses and other animals. This was made more enjoyable as there were barely any other tourists at the time we visited.

We did a 2 day private tour of Xi'an and the surrounding areas. The first day, our guide Lily took us to the terracotta warriors, to meet the man who discovered them, a cave dwelling and the old city wall. We had an amazing lunch, with lots of options for me as a vegetarian, and the rest of the family of meat eaters. The biang biang noodles are the best! Lily was so kind and considerate to our family and my daughter (who was carsick on the way out of town). She went out of her way to ensure that we were well taken care of. She is extremely knowledgeable about all of the sites and took her time answering all of our questions. I felt like I had known her for years, since my parents had taken a tour with her back in 2016 and she remembered so many details about conversations with my mother! The tour felt so personalized.

The second day, we had a guide named Michael meet us at the hotel and take us to an underground tomb outside of the city. That was the highlight for me - what a cool experience! He then took us the Wild Goose Pagoda, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. We then went to the cultural street which was fascinating, the drum tower and bell tower, and the Muslim street where we went to the great Mosque and ate delicious street food among the crowds. Michael was so friendly and full of fun facts and historical knowledge. I got a really good understanding of Chinese history from his explanations. He too remembered a group of my friends that had toured with the company a few years ago - which makes me believe that each tour is special/ memorable to this company.

The driver should also be mentioned. He drove smoothly, safely and never once weaved in and out of traffic/slammed the brakes etc. He was polite, kind and professional. The company provided a car seat so that I did not have to drag mine through the airport. They also provided water and working seat belts in a clean, comfortable van with AC.

Overall, I am so happy that our family decided to take a private tour with this company. We have lived in China for 5 years, and this tour exceeded our expectations beyond what we could have imagined! Both guides allowed us to tour at our own pace and accommodated anything we needed along the way. They took care of our daughter like she was their own. The company came highly recommended to us from friends and family. We felt that we were traveling with old friends and not hired guides. Lily and Michael were exceptional! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a hassle free, exciting and busy trip! You will not regret it!

Our tour guide, Jackie, was absolutely brilliant. The private guide was the best thing that we could have done for our weekend trip to Xi'an. He was insightful, informative, and a communicative. The sights themselves were amazing, and the added touch that he brought to the experience was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this to anyone.

We were picked up from our hotel by Michael and the driver and were instantly emmersed into the history of the Terracotta army.

Each and every step of the way we were given a superb history lesson by our guide, Michael. As there were only four of us in our group, we were able to stay focussed and had the opportunity to ask specific questions whenever we chose to. The responses were always clear and concise. It was evident that our guide was extremely experienced.
Many other of the larger tour groups became fragmented and communication was through ear pieces only. Ours had a very personal touch.

At lunchtime we were taken to a very traditional Chinese noodle restaurant which purportedly were one of the top ten noodles in China. I don't know whether that was factual but they were amazing. Having lived in China for four years I've had my fair share of noodles and nothing has come close to the taste and texture of these.

In the afternoon we were taken to the underground museam and the caves. Both of these were once again an excellent experience and were discussed in length by our guide.

I would highly recommend Lily's Private tours and would definitely recommend Michael as a guide.

Thank you for a wonderful experience.

        Jon, Yvonne, Mike and Norma.
