What a fantastic trip! I booked the early trip and I'm very glad I did because it got very hot in the middle of the day and very busy! Andy is very knowledgeable and shared a lot about the rice fields and helped me take some great pictures! After the rice fields, we went to the village and I got to see the long hair show and it was amazing to watch the ladies perform! There were great photo opportunities as well at the bridge and Andy had a lot of information to share about the Drum Towers!

My boyfriend and I were on a time constraint to see the rice villages. We only had a day and needed to get to the airport by 230 for a flight. I set up about a month prior to our visit with Andy to pick us up at 7am in yangshou to drive to the villages, visit the area for a few hours and then drive us to the airport. Andy was able to answer all of our questions for us and pointed out things in the terraces we would have not noticed if we were by ourselves! Thanks for a great and easy day, Andy!

I booked a tour to Longji rice terraces in Guilin with Andy. Andy was an attentive, well informed and a humorous guide. Additionally, he is a confident driver and his car is spacious. Very happy with the experience!

Me and my friend had booked a 4 days trip to Guilin last april : Longji riceTerraces, Yangshuo/karsts area and Reed Flute cave near Guilin City. It was a blast. I had been to Guilin 2 times before so i had an idea of what i wanted to visit and Andy was very good as making sure we were satisfied. Wether you are a first time visitor to Guilin or you have been there before, Andy will be flexible enough to accomodate you. He was able to make sure we get the driver at the right time and location...this was very important as there were few occasions when we needed to wake up very early (3 a.m) to watch sunrise : M. Xu, the driver, was always on time and waiting for us....he also was kind enough to show us the way and climb some karst with us (even though we had rented him just as a driver, he made sure to help us when we needed). Andy leaves in Guilin and the driver also leaves in Yangshuo so they are very knowledgeable and will give you the best advice to make sure your trip is a success ! We visited Guilin back in Feb 2019 and took a tour with Andy to the Longji rice terraces. He was very knowledgeable and speaks very good English. When we returned in April, he arranged a car and driver to take us up to the rice terraces for an overnight stay in Ping’an. He helped me with information to book the hostel in Ping’an, attend the long-haired women’s show and deliver us to our hotel in Guilin. We booked our Li River Cruise through him as well as transportation to take us to several places in Yangshuo. Andy was very prompt in his communications and easy to work with. We were very happy with his help. We highly recommend his services. A top notch guide!

I used Andy to guide my group all throughout the Guilin/Yangshuo area of China. He was very service oriented from the planning process in the states, to our time in China and even after we left him to go to Beijing. He picked us up at the train station in Guilin and took us straight north 2 hours to the Longji Terraces. Once at the parking area, he quickly got us our tickets and put us on the local bus to the village. Along the way he told us all about the local Yao and Zhuang people and other interesting facts about the area. He even introduced us to some locals along the way. As we started our hike at Ping'an Village, he pointed out all of the good photo points as we climbed through the village toward the Dragon's Backbone. From here, we hiked Longji Ancient Village, never seeing the same trail twice. All in all, a 2-3-hour hiking experience. Attention to a quality experience was always obvious as he steered us away from the crowds and people trying to sell things. However, there were opportunities to seek out vendors for those that did want to shop. He found a local restaurant for us to get lunch before we boarded the local bus back to the transfer center where we caught our bus to Yangshuo. In addition to the Longji Terrace hike, over the next three days, Andy also got us tickets/transfers to the Impression Sanjie Liu show (even guiding us through the crowd to our seats), guided us on an incredible hike along the karst mountains of the Li River, introduced us to a cormorant fisherman, took us bike riding along the Yulong River and much more. I'll review these separately. If you want to maximize your time in China, hire Andy. He'll take good care of you. We stayed at Baike Hotel, was a decent place very nice with a view overlooking the rice terraces. Very good location.
