About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CazH010 contributionsMangroves are a mustA fabulous experience. The mangroves are amazing & the eagles, monkeys and caves added to the fun too. The fish farms were not really farms more like tourist attractions but interesting to see the native fish up close .Written 24 January 2025
- mahesh V0 contributionswant to kill time u can gonothing to excite and watch... not worth for what we spent. Only stop at bat cave and fish farm (prices r too much for food)Written 10 March 2020
- MiaAG7110 contributionsGreat value for moneyThis is probably the cheapest price for the same tour on trip advisor and we couldn’t recommend it more! All entrance fees included. Our guide was incredibly well informed and made the tour extremely interesting - we learned a lot! His name was Cobra, thank you for making our tour so great!Written 3 March 2020
- aouna2670 contributionsHighly recommendedI really liked it and recommend it. Good guide and tour with light lunch. Very interesting tour with other peopleWritten 1 February 2020
- 455remyc0 contributionsMangrove, monkeys, beach, fast boat, landscape and fisherman harbourWe came from Costa Cruise and it was not well explained first of all, after Nancie explaination we had a wonderful experience, batcave, mangrove, the boat very fast in the mangrove forest a real attraction for children, the monkies and the lunch in the ficherman place. The guide had a good English and deliver good explainations. We recommand that tour. The only regret was the crowd of tourist but we belong to it !Written 8 January 2020
- the_yleo_mama0 contributionsSeeing is believing 🤩It was our first time to Pulau Payar & my first time snorkelling on the west coast of Malaysia. Amazed by the beautiful white sandy beach & crystal clear water. Managed to snorkel with many fishes & few baby black tip reef sharks - highlight of the trip - don’t have to go far as the fishes really near at the shore when visitors feed them. Even my 4 years old boy enjoyed it so much & keep on repeating wanting to go for another beach holiday. It was an unplanned decision & we bought the ticket at a ticket booth near Sandy Beach Resort just a day in advance - they offer the best price after comparing with another 2 offers. Insurance is included - RM130 per adult RM100 per child- snorkel set provided too. Lunch pack provided is tasty - Chinese fried rice, Ayam Masak Merah, Egg Sandwich, an apple & mineral water per person. Please give it a try to experience it yourself when you are in Pulau Langkawi. A place that I have been underestimated 🤭 the beauty of it until my recent trip in Dec 2019. Pulau Payar, we will come again whenever we are in Pulau Langkawi 👌🏻 #if only the toilet for women can be upgraded it would be so much better - thank you in advance Thank you for the experience 😍Written 8 January 2020
- victoriasB922ZF0 contributionsNot the best experienceI wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone who is serious about snorkelling. The reef is mostly dead, there are some cool fish to see but not enough to make it unforgettable. Also, there is only a tiny strip of beach for 100+ people to share, which isn't ideal and if you have mobility issues then you may find this experience difficult, as you have to move between 2 boats and the jetty floats on the sea so isn't very stable.Written 13 December 2019
- Pioneer5874140 contributionsBe in for an unpleasant surprise!Be in for an unpleasant surprise. Upon arrival on Payar Island, we were directed to a sort of holding bay with a couple of make shift long tables and plastic chairs of which eventually became our dinning tables for lunch (food not even fit for our pet .... comprising of plastic tasting rice, overnight over-fried chicken wing (1pcs) and some hard french fries, that's it) provided/included. The security of personal belongings became one of a main concern and issue. There weren't any "lockers" for rent to begin with. If you require any of such... they only had a communally shared "safe deposit box" made up of 2 to 3 plastic crates .. everyone's stuffs went into these baskets and were "watched over" by the "tour guide/stall holder" and were charged between M$10 to M$20 per person. No choice? well... take turns to snorkel and mend your own belongings. Rental of snorkeling equipment cost between M$10 to M$20 per person. Honestly... hygiene wise .. erm .. the rented equipment looked pretty unsanitarily kept. Thinking that there would be some sort of briefing as to what fishes & corals we would be seeing and on how to wear and use the snorkeling equipment properly ... neh ... WRONG ..they just left us to our own device. They were very rude when question were asked and not of much help to the tourist. The so called " tour guides " were rowdy and loud. They were blasting musics, singing loudly and shouting at each other most of the time, like a bunch of drunkards, entertaining themselves throughout. Other than the 2 to 3 hours of actual snorkeling (this timing includes the lunch break), they rest of the time was spent on traveling and countless waiting. That's the so called "Full Day Tour-Payar Island Beach by XQ Holiday" a total of 9 hours itinerary. Now you decide for yourself, should you give this tour a MISS!!Written 25 November 2019
- Pauyeo0 contributionsMangrove Forest & Cave TourEnjoyed the tour but missed the Fish feeding fun because we had to wait for our steam fish to be cooked. After eating we had to leave the floating restaurant. So sad!Written 18 November 2019
- GGAdelaide0 contributionsVery commercialisedThis tour started from Kuah. Shared tour. First island about 45 minutes for swimming. The beach was dirty, lots of cigarette ends. Why can’t visitors take the rubbish with them? Early start so nothing available to eat or drink. Eagle feeding next, with chicken skins which are not good for the birds. Then on to the fresh water lake. A charge to in, then a charge for buoyancy vest because you aren’t supposed to swim without a vest. Loud music, screaming crowds, inflatables, kayaks and anything else you fancy. Never again.Written 19 October 2019
- Trishpearce0 contributionsSunset cruise with lovely food and drink. We arrived a little early and the staff were a little abrupt telling us to come back in 20 minutes. When we got on the catamaran it was nt exactly what we had been sold. It said we would have a saltwater jacuzzi on board! We didn’t see this. The staff were very friendly and the group of people we were with were great fun. The drink flowed and the food was nice. Something for everyone. I’m vegetarian and was pleased that they had automatically catered for vegetarians. The guys make lovely cocktails, I had pina collardas. It wasn’t overcrowded and had plenty of sitting space. However we thought that the net was going to be put in the water and we would be allowed to swim. We wasn’t told that it had been and the boat didn’t stop. We didn’t see any of the other people wet and as the sun set we decided that part of the trip wasn’t going to happen. The sunset on this evening was lovely and the crew ensured that we saw every last drop of it. Manouvering the boat to take in every second. We came back in with the moon twinkling on the water and having made some lovely friends. Nice evening, laid back. It is what you make it and we found it different from the many Caribbean catamaran trips we’ve done. Glad that I didn’t take my snorkel and mask as I think I would have been out of place! 😊Written 19 October 2019
- nvkm680 contributionsAmazing trip, very good service- A MUST-DO ACTIVITYHighly recommended. Please carry drinking water, sun-screen/protection as well as swimming gear as it is hot and there are opportunities to swim, snorkel go kayaking in the fresh water lake. At Datang Bunting there is a bit of steep climbing involved in getting to the fresh water lake for those who have bad knees. Very scenic locations. Service was very good.Written 13 October 2019
- prakss20160 contributionsGreat TourTour will take roughly about 1.5 to 2 hours. Speed boat ride was great fun. First they take you to Bat caves and will say to Rent out torchlight(1 RM) from the counter to see the bats. I suggest there is no need to rent since we can easily see them with mobile flashlight itself. After that they take you 3-4 spots namely crocodile case, apache, eagle watching, fish farm and lastly at the end area (KILIM geo Park), From here we can see the Thailand border. Its fun to go in the speed boat and surely very enjoyable.Written 8 October 2019
- A G0 contributionsRead ReviewThe ticket office staff are nice. The bus and ferry are okay. The beach is very dirty with plastic. Enclosed area around 60x60 meters and all group are dropped there. The reef is unfortunately mostly dead but still can watch some fish, i am not an expert to comment on the variety of fish or whether it is worse or better than expected. No assistance or guidance offered. We were summoned at the begining to be told how much will be charged for lockers!!! Plastic boxes and lost equipments. No body offered any help or guidance despite a fair proportion of group being children. Spotted a sea snake and when asked was told it is dangerous! Overall you get about 2.5 hours on the island out of the 8. Lunch was offered and was fine. All in all and having spoken to others with more experience in this, it is not what expected and safety is a big concern. We ended up cleaning the beach !!!Written 22 July 2019
- June24thbaby0 contributionsIsland Hoping (Dayang Bunting Marble)A must do activity at least once upon visiting Pulau Langkawi. Very reasonable price as I managed to get RM63 only ticket fare for two person. It was my 2nd experienced. A bit dissappointed with how the life jacket / kayak / paddle cycling service provider who collected fee at the entrance counter as they suggested you took the one with whole package at RM10/person. When you arrived at the point, there was no wristband as promised whether you paid for RM10 or RM5. You actually could asked for any of the activities without further checking. Plus be reminded that there will be RM3 per person for entrance fee. Do bring extra money as you will need to use it at the last pit stop, Pulau Beras Basah for foods and drinks. Oher than that It was a good and memorable experience with the loved one.Written 27 June 2019
