Great experience with Tour Guide Daniel
We had the pleasure of having Daniel as our guide, who promptly picked us up from our hotel and took us on a fantastic tour of the city's most interesting sites. His extensive knowledge of Colombian culture and history, combined with his excellent English skills, made for a truly enriching experience. Daniel's expertise and enthusiasm made our trip both enjoyable and informative. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch guide.

The Park from Pablo - Do it!
What a great day trip from Medellin! The park itself is fairly standard fair for a zoo, but it also includes a very large water park and entertainment areas (rides, etc). But what made this a great trip was learning the history of the park, Pablo Escobar, the region, (and more!) from our guide, Daniel. In addition to being a wealth of knowledge, he was also extremely friendly and accommodating. For those worried about animals that are locked up - most of the animals there are rescues from previous zoos, circus', etc. Also, the size of the wild iguanas roaming about make me believe in dragons! lol ***Note, it is a bit warmer up there than in Medellin, so be prepared!

          Highly recommended tour, credible guide
Daniel is incredibly knowledgeable and credible. He shared some very interesting facts with us and answered our questions really well also. He's very passionate about Medellín and enjoys his work. He was punctual picking us up and flexible when we needed a change of itinerary due to our baby. We were in very good hands, thank you, Daniel!

Great tour with the Eddie Murphy of Medellin!
We had a great tour with Joe, our super-streetwise guide. Loads of intriguing factoids about Medellin’s often grim and violent past. Real under the bonnet stuff. Engaging and entertaining. Thanks mate!

Worth the trip but the food/drink below needs to be price regulated as it's extortion down there
Pretty impressive feat of engineering. I recommend you skip the main tour - most of it is just explaining the religious symbolism of the stations of the cross that are in the tunnels that lead to the actual cathedral. I would save your energy and just walk past them and go straight to the big cathedral and museum spaces at the end of the tour - the sculpture museum itself is the best thing in my opinion, it's kind of nestled in among a bunch of shops and isn't part of the main tour. There's usually a line for the video room that has more interesting history than the tour itself- the history of the engineering and mining, which is very interesting. Be aware that prices in the stores/cafes down below are CRAZY EXPENSIVE. they really should regulate this as it is an absolute rip off - at least a 500% mark-up on stuff you can get at the surface.

          Great Story Teller
We were so fortunate to have Daniel. What a great story teller. He was absolutely fantastic and incredibly knowledgable. Probably because he used to work at the museum with Pablo's brother Roberto. Had a great time and it was much more than just Pablo Escobar, learnt so much about the country, politics and everything in between. Thanks Daniel!

A must do excursion while in Medellin
We have traveled to so many countries and our family of 5 (3 grown kids) all agree that this is one of our favorite tours ever!!! Our guide David was just incredible. He was so enthusiastic all day long. Our tour was 12 hours from pick up to drop off and it just flew by. We had so many amazing stops. David is a fantastic storyteller and we loved learning all about Colombia and Pablo Escobar! The tour was just our family of 5 in a mini van, so we were able to alter as necessary. We cut out the cemetery as it saved us 2 hours that we could spend at some of the other stops that we cared about more. David was a fantastic driver. For our boat tour, we were in a private boat with just our group. This was fantastic as we saw boats filled with 50-100 people go by. Our boat driver would stop at strategic points and explain what we were looking at. Another thing about David is that he was a fantastic DJ as we drove from location to location. He had a great playlist and we enjoyed singing along to the songs. At one point he let me son DJ and he had fun picking the songs. It certainly made the driving part more fun. Bring along a raincoat and/or light jacket as the weather changes so frequently! The hike to the top of El Peñol is well worth it. The views from the top are fantastic!

I think that visitors to Haro (a city with many attractions) should not miss the opportunity to visit the surrounding towns. Specifically, I recommend three, which are Sajazarra, Briñas and La Bastida. There are three towns with some highly recommended monumental complexes. The distances between them are very short and the roads are good and well signposted. There are more towns but these three caught a lot of attention
