Full-Day Guatapé (Pueblo de Zocalos) from Medellín
From US$30.00
Overview
Eliminate the hassle of traveling independently from Medellín to Guatapé (Pueblo de Zocalos) and spectacular Peñol Rock (La Piedra del Peñol) on this stress-free, full-day tour. As well as summiting Peñol Rock—a must-see for anyone visiting Medellín—you’ll enjoy visits to the local villages of Guarne and Marinilla, and take a lovely boat ride on Lake Guatapé. Continental breakfast and lunch are included with this tour for your convenience.
What to Expect

Following departure from a meeting point in central Medellín, you’ll travel to the village of Guarne for a traditional Colombian breakfast accompanied by coffee. From there, continue to Marinilla to admire its town square and handful of historical sites.

As you approach the town of Peñol, the dramatic silhouette of Peñol Rock (La Piedra del Peñol) comes into view. Opt to ascend to the rock’s summit via 742 stairs and enjoy spectacular views of Lake Guatapé from the top.

After a well-deserved break for lunch, you’ll take a cruise on Guatapé Lake (Laguna de Guatapé) and embark on a walking tour of Guatapé town.

The full-day tour concludes at your original departure point in Medellín.

Trip to Guatape and El Penol with MaxiTours was the highlight of our trip.

This was a great day, and well worth the price. Our tour bus was full and we were the only English speakers. Marlon, the guide, did an excellent job with the English translation and was very knowledgeable with the history of this region. We loved...More

The food wasn’t great, the Spanish tour guide wasn’t completely translated into English by the English guide, so we missed some interesting information. There isn’t a boat ride. They’ll give you some lame reason. There’s another company for the same price who include a boat...More

Great value for money

Really enjoyed our trip to Guatape yesterday. We went with a large group but the tour guides were fantastic and spoke both Spanish & English. Only a small fee for this trip but a lot of value in it.

No Boat!

Clearly lists a boat tour on Guatape Lake as included - IT IS NOT!! Rest was OK, but took 3hrs to drive back to Medellin through rush hour traffic...

I went yesterday. The bus was nice and the guides very friendly and knowledgeable. After climbing "the Rock", we came back down for lunch. I thought lunch was mediocre. Saw some pretty cool sites driving there and back. Upon return (I was by myself and...More

We were back at 6:30 p.m. at Medellin but the ride to an International airport is about an hour. So take this into consideration.
