Overview

Escape the busy streets of Cartagena with a full day on the Rosario Islands. A bus takes your small group to the Colombian coastal town of Barú, where a speedboat whisks you to the picturesque Corales del Rosario National Park. There, sunbathe on unspoiled beaches, swim and snorkel in the azure Caribbean, and relax. There’s no cost surprises as the tour includes lunch, hotel pickup and drop-off, park fees, and use of snorkel equipment.

What to Expect

Start your day early with a convenient hotel pickup in an air-conditioned minivan that quickly transports you to Barú, a coastal town about an hour from Cartagena.

From Barú, a speedboat races you to the Rosario Islands for an hour of coral reef snorkeling and underwater sightseeing. After recharging with local fruits and water, continue to the beautiful Plaza Azul on the island of Cholon, where beachside drinks and massages are available (own expense).

The boat tour continues to Playa Blanca, where lunch is served beside the picturesque beach. Lunch is followed by an afternoon of free time to relax in a hammock, sunbathe on the pristine sand or indulge in tropical cocktails (own expense).

The boat and bus return trip will deliver you to your Cartagena hotel around 6:30pm.

Jorge was awesome

We we're a group of 7 and Jorge was awesome. He was at our hotel on time and the whole day was packed with things to do and good times. I can't recommend this enough.

A great day exploring the islands - thank you Jorge!

Let me get this out of the way first: if you are booking a tour in Cartagena, don't expect the bus to pick you up on time. I'm from Miami and we call it "island time", so a bit of a wait was to be...More

Great excursion

Our tour guide Jorge was very attentive and made the excursion great. Wish we spent a little more time in each island but still worthwhile.

So long as the child wasn't occupying an extra seat that seems like it'd be a possibility, but I'd recommend speaking with the tour affiliates to be sure as I saw nothing to indicate that.

I agree with the previous answer. The boat runs pretty fast and shakes a lot. I wouldn't do it if pregnant.
