Sunrise Small-Group Tour of Angkor Wat from Siem Reap
US$19.00
Overview
Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat is a truly unforgettable experience that makes for spectacular photos. On this tour, arrive early to beat the crowds and midday heat, enjoy a guided tour of the ancient ruins, and visit the temples of Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom, and Bayon Temple. A small group means plenty of time for questions, and convenient hotel pickup and drop-off make for a seamless experience.
What to Expect
Start your tour with an early morning pickup from your Siem Reap hotel and travel to the Angkor Archaeological Park in the comfort of an air-conditioned minivan. Once you’ve purchased your entrance tickets (own expense), head through the little-visited western entrance to experience Angkor Wat at sunrise.

After watching the magnificent sunrise, set out to explore Angkor Wat on a guided walking tour and listen as your guide points out notable architectural features and details the fascinating history of the Khmer Empire. Stop to enjoy breakfast (most hotels will provide a packed breakfast for guests on early tours) outside the temple, before continuing to visit Angkor Thom and the Bayon Temple.

As the sun begins to heat up, make one last stop to see the ‘jungle temple’ of Ta Prohm, before being dropped back at your hotel in the early afternoon.

Very poor tour

I went on a half-day sunrise tour to Angkor Wat today in a small group. Firstly, the guide called my hotel room phone (I provided my hotel details but not my room number, this was clearly a breach of privacy) at 4:10am telling me to...More

Worth the early start

My girlfriend and I booked the Angkor Wat sunrise tour with Journey Cambodia and it was worth the early start. The day started with a 4.15am pickup where we met our tour guide for the day, Phi, who spoke perfect English. Be sure to ask...More

Must do if you dont have much time

Our guide Phi was funny, attentive and well prepared. We got lots of background of the Cambodian history and current events (apart from all the history of Angkor Wat). The best way to beat the crowds and the heat is to go early.

Hi we were picked up about 4.30 am so we could get our passes at 5 am when the office opens. This way we beat the crowds both there and at Angkor Wat. There’s plenty of time in the temples on the tour-and we got back to our... More

We were picked up at our hotel - we needed to be ready by 4:20-4:25 - I would recommend checking the booking reservation to see if hotel ouck up is included. Hope that helps & enjoy your tour!
