Overview
Enjoy two of Dubai’s natural desert attractions—wildlife and falconry—without the bustle of a group tour or the hassle of arranging logistics yourself with this private experience. After a wildlife safari drive in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, enjoy a private falconry session: flying birds from your hand, watching demos, and gaining personal instruction from your own falconer. Upgrade to add breakfast at the upscale Al Maha Desert Resort.
What to Expect
Depart early from your Dubai hotel and journey to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve by a private climate-controlled 4WD vehicle. En route, hear about the Emirati passion for falconry: a Bedouin technique where birds were used to hunt desert animals for meat.

On arrival, take a wildlife safari through the dunes, watching for oryx, gazelle, lizards, and more, and learning about indigenous plants.

Next, enjoy a private falconry experience. Meet falcons, kestrels, and other birds from a family collection and take an active part in a training session. Wear a glove to let them fly and return to your hand after collecting bait, and watch demos of training methods, such as the use of drones. Finally, return to Dubai.

Alternatively, if you’ve upgraded, continue to the stunning Al Maha Desert Resort for breakfast (see Itinerary) overlooking the dunes. Whichever option you’ve chosen, your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.

Majestic

This was beyond our expectations. Hendrik and Rhaheem were superb. Worth every single penny. Thoroughly recommend. The birds were beautiful. We got to allow the owls and the most majestically eagle to land on our gloved hand. The best memory ever.

Amazing Experiences and Amazing Service. 100% Recommend

I traveled alone and chose to do the private tour without breakfast. My guides (Hendrik and Cesar) were already waiting for me in my hotel lobby before the 5:00am pickup time (pickup time varies depending on season). They were very friendly and were able to...More

An unique side of Dubai

Thoroughly enjoyed a special side of UAE most people don't associate with Dubai. Yes, there is an active awareness of the unique culture of local Arabs married with a (literally) oasis in the form of a huge nature conservation site ... which also happens to...More
