Conservation Drive with Refreshments at Al Maha Desert Resort and Transport from Dubai
From US$163.50
Overview
Bedouin-camp dinner tours. This morning tour breaks convention, focusing on a wildlife safari in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve by Range Rover. Look for gazelle, oryx, and other rare species; learn about the dunes and flora and their part in Bedouin tradition; and finish with refreshments at the exclusive Al Maha resort.
What to Expect
Depart your Dubai hotel by 4WD Range Rover. Arrive at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the UAE’s first national park and a haven for wildlife.

With a professional driver-guide at the wheel, set off in a Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV for a wildlife safari. As you travel through the dunes, hear about the reserve's ecosystem and 100 or so animal species, some of them endangered.

Watch for wildlife through powerful binoculars, perhaps seeing the rare Arabian oryx, Ethiopian hedgehog, or Gordon’s wildcat, together with gazelle and desert monitors. Stop to see indigenous plants, and learn how they’re used for medicinal purposes by local Bedouin.

Following your drive, continue to the luxurious Al Maha Desert Resort in the dunes. Here, refuel with refreshments, such as pastries paired with tea, coffee, or fruit juice.

Your experience ends with a minivan drop-off at your Dubai hotel.

there were toilets at Al Maha. I couldn’t remember if there were toilets at the “base camp” where our driver deflated the tires but at the desert itself, no toilet.
