Desert Experience: Camel Safari with Dinner and Emirati Activities from Dubai
US$163.50
Overview
Exploring Dubai’s desert on a DIY trip won’t give you the full-on Arabian camp experience. This excursion delivers it with a difference: incorporating a longer-than-usual camel ride, a falconry show, and activities like bread- and coffee-making demos, while giving the standard dune bash a miss. Ride a camel to a tented camp, enjoy the activities as you wish, and savor a 4-course dinner and dancing shows before returning to Dubai.
What to Expect
After pickup from your central Dubai hotel, travel into the desert by air-conditioned minivan. Meet your camel convoy and enjoy a 45-minute ride across the sands to a Bedouin-inspired camp set within a reserve owned by the UAE’s royal family.

Take in the atmosphere of the torch-lit compound, and as the sun sets, watch a falconry demonstration. Stroll into the dunes for sunset photos, and enjoy the activities on offer inside the Bedouin-style tent—getting a henna tattoo, sipping Arabic coffee, and watching bread- and coffee-making demonstrations.

Next, settle at a low table for a 4-course dinner of Emirati dishes served with soda and mineral water. See the Itinerary for a sample menu.

Afterward, opt to try a shisha (Arabic water pipe), and enjoy live dancing and music displays under the stars before your trip concludes with a hotel drop-off in Dubai.

Wonderful experience

Aside from the 45 minute camel ride across the desert, this was an educational experience too. After arriving at the camp we learned about desert life and how meals were prepared which, of course we sampled. Lamb cooked in a pit, camel stew and more....More

A great tour

Our guide was Ben, a great, entertaining and funny pal from Singapore. This was great as he was able to communicate with me in English, and with my girlfriend in Mandarin. I did not expect much fluency in any other languages than Arabic and English...More

'No flies on us !'

Travelling for an hour from Dubai, we were greeted at our destination, by our hosts and their camels. Once family dressed in traditional Bedouin head gear, we mounted our camels for a 40 minute walk through the desert. Enjoyed cool drinks, seated on cushions watching...More

Living in Dubai, I've done multiple desert safaris before. First time I tried Platinum and will never try another company. Punctual, super professional, our guide AKA walking encyclopedias about Dubai, UAE, fauna flora, there was a falcon show on a amazing sunset spot, for all...More

We did the the Heritage Desert Safari which was brilliant from start to finish, made so by the wonderful guide Ali Moussa from Cameroon who was knowledgeable and helpful throughout. The food was fantastic in the evening and the safari itself was fun. The whole...More

That’s the same question I asked when I was on the tour last January. My tour guide said the weather in that particular desert is not too bad during summer. I’m not sure if he’s just saying that so they will still get... More
