Road interruptions and suitable for top firm experienced outdoors athletes
The intensely challenging, harried tour seemed focused on accomplishing a physical task more than it did an eye popping experience through a unique opportunity to view the environment we were in. It involved predominantly taking on the planked up and down trail. There are surprisingly few waterfalls. They are a small part of the view. Would be best to be aware that its physical aspect is far more than the experience in nature.crowded as any place in a city bustling square. Have narrowed road construction halts both directions involving up to 45 minute stops didn’t help.

    Visit to the lakes
The guide was funny and knowledgeable and I appreciated his background knowledge and jokes. The location was absolutely stunning. Only criticism was that I’m quite short, the guide was tall. He said he would set a slow pace. It may have been slow for him but I felt that I sprinted round the circuit and would have loved more time

Our lucky day at Plitvice with a great tour guide
Seamless transfer from Zagreb to Plitvice (stop in Rastoke) then lunch and transfer to another bus to Split. Our guide Marko was wonderfully humorous energetic and a great nature leader. Boat rides inside the park was very nice. There are waterfalls everywhere. A true national treasure.

Excellent Guided Tour of World Class Park
Our group of eight did the private guided day tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Portal was on time picking us up, and the guide gave us two hours of Croatian history as we drove to the park. The vehicle provided was good quality and roomy enough for all of us. None of us were particularly large or things would have been tight. The guide knew every trail in the park and recommended a five mile route that covered the highlights. His plan kept us away from the crowds most of the time, but we were surprised that the total walking distance was really seven miles because it was a mile from the parking to the starting point. The park is spectacular and the color of the lakes really is amazing. The trails are wide and well maintained. Many areas were boardwalks and some trails were paved. Most of the trails had plenty of shade. The boat and tram were welcome breaks from hiking. Take your time on the long uphill hike back to the parking lot. Cash was not accepted in the park so be sure to have a card to pay for snacks and souvenirs. Visiting with Portal eliminated things that caused disappointment with other visitors. Our tickets were pre-purchased and included skip the line privileges and the guide allowed us to make maximum use of our time.

    Interesting and stunning trip
It’s a few hours of travel from Split on a coach, approx 3.5 hours each way. Food is poor at the park so eat at the stops on route rather than at the park. scenery is very beautiful and worth the trip. It’s at least 5 miles walking around the park but pace is slow and terrain is fairly flat so an easy walk.

    Gorgeous Park and Delicious Lunch
The walk around the main waterfalls (Skradinski Buk) was an easy and picturesque ~45min loop. En route to Roski Slap, we got a quick stop to photograph the monastery from above. Lunch was incredible, though it's separate from the swimming area, and separate from the views to the Roski Slap waterfalls. Sibenik is also beautiful and worth exploring. It's a long day but there's plenty of opportunity to rest/sleep on the bus. Igor was a great tour guide who provided detailed and interesting context for the various stops.

Lovely way to spend our last day
Very good tour. Ivan was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge and a great sense of humour. The tour guide in Mostar talked a lot about the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and her passion really came though. The waterfall was a great ending to the tour, well-worth a dip so don’t forget your swimwear! Would recommend this trip but prepare for a long day!

    Krka & Sibenik day trip
We had a fabulous day! Ernest was a great guide! We learned a lot about Croatia and about the national park. This tour provided us with enough time to poke around on our own, both at Krka and in Sibenik. Lunch at Krka was very special and delicious! A long day and so enjoyable!

Perfect way to get from Zagreb to Split
Incredible experience and totally worth it. You are own a nice bus, they drop you off at your hotel, and pick up near your hotel. The Plitvçe tour was incredible and Marco the guide was so funny and educational!! You also get to stop in a very cute waterfall town called Rastoke and even get traditional lunch at another location!!!

A great trip to make when travelling from Zagreb to Split
The lakes are spectacular. The Zagreb to Split transfer makes it wonderfully convenient to see them. We stopped first at a picturesque small town filled with waterfalls for 30 minutes to explore. Then, a few miles down the road, the tour guide gave us a long tour of the lakes and showed us the major views, both close in and from high up. Then we stopped at an excellent local farm-to-table restaurant before continuing to Split. Their spit-roasted lamb was the best I have had. The bus from Zagreb to the Lakes was convenient, but no restroom. Be prepared or you may have to ask for a stop, which they were not troubled to give. After lunch, people continuing to Split change to a minivan. It was snug but comfortable. The driver dropped people staying in hotels that can be reached by car, and helpfully explained to the rest of us how to get to our hotels in the pedestrian zone. Note: The lakes tour requires a lot of walking, (I think about 4-5 miles) and most of it is not level - either uphill or down. People on the tour should be prepared, or they will not get the value from the trip.

The only way to transit from Zagreb to Split (or Split to Zagreb)
If you are looking for a way to transit from Zagreb to Split, and to see the Lakes with hotel pick up and drop off and to get another day back up your sleeve this is the way to go... we had originally planned to catch the bus, but decided to do this instead. Marko was very knowledgeable and somehow managed to coordinate many individual pick ups in Zagreb, all the time while engaging with everyone. The first stop off was amazing, we got a calzone and a sandwich whilst watching the river, the drop off and tickets at the Lakes was seamless and you get to see all of the upper and lower lakes. The bus then scooted us off to a local restaurant with some very good food before we swapped busses for the 2nd leg to Split. We had a bigger bus back to Split, but this was due to how many people were going to Split. The ride from the Lakes to Split was just as smooth and comfortable, 1 stop on the way for a break and a leg stretch. The coordination for the drop off's was just as good as the pick ups. We were the last drop off and the return guide gave us some great recommendations for our Split stay. Bonus about this trip is we didn't need to use up another whole day doing the Lakes separately, which meant we are now able to do a Bosnia day trip. Credits all around for the 2 guides and bus drivers, coordination, time spent, knowledge of area and a very unique option to really get more out of your trip. Way better option then the normal bus, train or plane. Ps - If walking the whole Lakes isn't your thing, you can always take the bus to the top and back down and simply meet everyone at the end, no hassles, no delays.

The Lakes were FABULOUS! I was told they were a "not to miss" place and everyone was right. Our guide, Igor, was wonderful. He made sure we saw all the best views, even stopping to point out some little things that we may have missed otherwise.
Our pick up point in Split was a central location near the old harbor (our hotel was on a street too narrow for the bus) but then we were dropped off in Zagreb directly at our hotel. Very convenient.
I highly recommend this tour and this company.

Highly recommend. Nice transportation (AC and clean with nice driver) and there is a guide for the park that meant we avoided lines and learned more about it.

This is a great experience from Split to Plitvice Lake and Zagreb! We needed to go from Split to Zagreb, instead of renting a car, we decided to join the tour. In the morning, a small car came to our hotel to pick us up and took us to the bus, and then headed to the Plitvice lake.

First of all, the view was amazing and breathtaking!! Truly worth the hike! Our guide Borna is excellent who tried his best to shorten our walk yet allowed us to see the beautiful view. Even though it was his first solo trip to lead us there, he did a great job. He provided the history and shared funny jokes along the way. Also, the Ivana Guruwalk who assisted Borna on the way was fascinating too! She is friendly and share interesting facts with us too. Both are wonderful tour guides in Croatia, and I highly recommend both of them if you are going to Croatia! After the hike, we dined at a local restaurant, and then took another shuttle to Zagreb. It was a door-to-door service and really saved us time for driving.

Highly recommend this trip!

From the moment our Tour Guide and driver, Ivan, picked us up from our hotel in Zagreb, our day was one full of fun, laughter, and great sight seeing at Plitvice National Park. Ivan showed genuine care in making our day enjoyable. He enriched our day with many funny and insightful stories, anecdotes and historical facts about life in Split and surrounds, and Croatia generally. Thank you Ivan for making our transfer from Zagreb to Split a wonderful day! Regards from Ed, Julie, Lloyd and that Karen woman! 😂😂

We had a great day with Ivan our tour guide and a small group of 8. Lots of information on Croatia and many laughs. Ivan expertly navigated us around a busy Plitvice lakes national park without getting stuck in any long queues. A long day and about 9km of walking but thoroughly recommend it.

We had a wonderful day touring with Ivan. There were 8 of us on a small bus. He drove us from Split and guided us through Plitvice Lakes (which was very busy) always with a smile. His knowledge of the area was amazing. He also told us about the history of Croatia and pointed out many interesting things on the trip from Split. I would definitely recommend transferring from Split to Zagreb this way.

I usually don’t go on guided tours, but choosing this one seemed to show promise. Right from the start the tour went well. Our guide was intelligent, informative, had a great sense of humour, and knew all about the park. I would certainly recommend this tour.
