About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- jamierQ5304KZ0 contributionsReal Fiji tourSunny was a great guide and we really got to see the true Fiji. He was also on time and friendly. It was an eye-opener to see the villages near the coast and the way of living there.Written 9 January 2025
- meredithandjustinm0 contributionsA pretty ordinary experienceThis was just a okay trip and quite a way from what we were expecting. When we booked, we didn’t expect a private taxi driver to be our tour guide. The car was a bit grubby and the driver preferred the windows down, rather than aircon. Melting in the humidity and windblown hair, we would have preferred the aircon. He did ask us, but followed it straight up with the fact his ears hurt with air conditioning on. In part, the average rating was due to the disappointment of the Coral Coasts itself. I expected beautiful beaches and great snorkelling but it proved to be not like that where we were taken by our driver. We asked for the main part of the trip to be snorkelling. We hired a snorkelling mask and tube (that still had the zinc sunscreen of the previous person inside it), no fins available, and went out into quite dirty looking and smelling water. We were back within 10 minutes and opted for a beach massage instead. The massage was not too bad, but the oil smelt dreadful and was hard to wash off, even after a shower. I am not convinced that we were taken to the ‘best white sandy beach on the mainland’ as was advertised, rather a place where our taxi driver knew the people and got a kickback. We were fending off requests to ride horses along the beach also. Our driver was friendly and gave commentary along the way. He also said his wife ran a business from home where she cooked traditional Indian food and guests went there to eat. He asked us multiple times if we wanted to eat as his house, to which we declined bring two females. When passing the house of his father, he asked if we wanted to stop for a cold drink. I think his hospitality was genuine, but still a little concerning for us. Overall, we left the tour glad that it was over. The Coral Coast Venture was disappointing for us.Written 8 January 2025
- Seaside657220226990 contributionsExcellent day out, a long one but worth it.Great day out, driver Sunny was excellent and very knowledgeable of the areas covered and Fijian culture and way of life and knew the best photo stops. Long day 12 hours, probably only suitable for adults.Written 21 December 2024
- N4927GQkevins0 contributionsIt doesn't get any better than this! This trip with our tour guide Sunny.....was all as described in the brochure. A long day for sure.....12 hours as described.....not a lot of long stops......but absolutely the best way to see the real Fiji outside of the resorts. Sunny is absolutely informative and will take you to parts of Fiji that few locals have ever seen.....especially on the road from Suva to Lautoka. If you want to see the real 🇫🇯 Fiji.....this has to be on your bucket list. From the trips through the local villages on the route (there are many).....to stopping at the local roadside stalls in those villages.....and interacting with the locals.....(mostly isolated from the outside world) .....this trip is best described as ....."a true look at the Fiji that was".......before the resorts and commercialization. In many ways I wish I had this trip available....when I last visited 38 years ago. If anybody looking at this review is thinking a rental car and do the same trip over a few days......( I thought about it.) Forget it. No accommodation to speak of after Suva....heading north. So best to leave it to your tour guide. A day in our lives well spent.....made all the more special by Sunny. Thank you......Kevin and Sharon......Waterford....CaliforniaWritten 16 November 2024
- FranPe0 contributionsAverage serviceNothing bad about Iconic Tours, nothing exceptional. I used their services through an organised trip to Fiji with the Italian agency Avventure nel Mondo. So at first it was our tour lead that talked with Iconic Tours to book our hotels, ferry transfers and a couple of excursions. Unfortunately our tour lead was completely unable to do his job which probably influenced and exhausted Mrs Preti. That's my impression However and when I started contacting Mrs Preti directly, I have not been impressed. I asked her to confirm if each of the 5 lodge booked offered certain services (safe box, lockers, wifi, vegetarian meals etc) and she provided fragmented answers which I found confusing. At one point she suggested I contact the lodges myself. We also had an issue with splitting the costs of the Lodge at Taveuni among the group. We had 3 rooms booked, 2 private and 1 dorm. The prices were obviously different but we were all quoted the same tariff. Fault of out tour lead who asked Preti to split the total cost equally among us. When we found out we decided to recalculate so that each person would pay for the room they were in. It wasn't easy at all to recalculate (some pple changed to a better room, others joined the double room which became a room for 3 etc, plus there was Mrs Preti's commission to deduct). I asked Mrs Preti to help and provide the net price of each room. Her answer: " No .. this is not good .. I did advise before. I did get your group in under the package. I will not advise again" I find it unacceptable to answer like that to a client. Thanks to the patient lady of the Lodge reception I managed to recalculate however this is not the service I expect from the agency!Written 17 October 2024

- katieeH8767WG0 contributionsSee all of Singatoka in a day with SunnySingatoka. Sunny was punctual from beginning to end. We were never waiting for him. He was excited and upbeat all day, even when we were getting tired. He took us to Natadolq Harbour for beautiful snorkelling, pottery village, waterfall, jetty another village and waited also for us to have lunch in Singatoka town. Weather was windy all day and overcast from lunch time. So glad we booked the tour as when we arrived back to where we’re staying, everyone was a bit depressed and bored with the weather. We said we’ve been snorkelling and had a great day… needless to say, they were jealous.Written 14 August 2024

- MumbaiRiders0 contributionsNadi Tour- Handicraft Centre, Temple, Garden of the Sleeping Giant ,& Mud PoolAt my resort "The Ideal Bed and Breakfast" backpackers at Wailoaloa hired a taxi with Mr Sharon.Shiraz.Ali being my Driver cum guide. The Itinerary for the day was a visit to Sri Siva Subramaniya temple ,the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere,Nadi Handicrafts village, Garden of the Sleeping giant and Sabeto mud pool and hot springs. The total charges for this private specialized tour amounted to FJ $ 205 with cost of admission tickets to the tourist sites included in this private tour.At 1015 hrs reached Sri Shiva Subramanya temple which has a entrance ticket for tourists.Driver/ Guide Mr Ali purchased the ticket and after removing my footwear entered the precincts of the temple.Photography inside the temple was strictly prohibited and this temple is the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere. From the temple our next stop was at the Handicraft centre of Nadi which has a string of handicraft shop's lined in a single row in the shade of beautiful gigantic trees. At 1100 hrs departed for " Garden of the Sleeping Giant" from Handicrafts centre which was a long drive, first through the main highway road which was excellent and later through the narrow village roads filled with pot holes .The large mountain named " Sleeping Giant" towers above Nadi city and the entire countryside was green due to the rains, a picturesque soothing sight to the eyes. Mr Ali purchased the entrance tickets and introduced me to the guide Mr Taione,a local Fijian dressed in Fijian attire and he explained me and a few tourists regarding the garden and took us on a guided tour. The Garden, which contains a vast collection of 30 to 40 varieties of magnificent Asian orchids and Cattleya hybrids was started in 1977 by the late American actor Raymond Burr, star of "Perry Mason " and "Ironside"and sits at the foothills of the Nausori Highlands. Its attractive landscaped gardens specialize in Fiji’s native plants as well as housing an impressive collection of orchids, some native. A jungle walk from this "ORCHID SECTION" takes visitors past a large lily pond and through native forest onto a steep ascent to the top of a part of the mountain range for a view of the valley below the mountain. The gardens showcase more than two thousand different kinds of orchids, covering 20 hectares. The exquisite beauty of the garden is unsurpassed by most, housing one of the world’s largest orchid collections plus beautiful cultivated greenery and enchanting lily ponds. From the " Garden of the Sleeping Giant" we drove to our final destination " Sabeto Mud Pool and Hot Springs".The drive was partly alongside a road at the periphery of " Sleeping Giant " mountain and uneven and bumpy as are all forest roads. Finally at 1330 hrs we reached the parking lot of " Sabeto mud pool and hot water springs"and the entire enterprise is run and managed by a local Fijian family. There was no big group tour crowd like i saw in the on-line publicity brochures and along with me was a young European couple with their toddler daughter. We first had to smear our entire body with mud.Once the mud dried we had a dip in 4 different pools having warm thermal spring water. The bottom of the first 3 pools had mud at the bottom while the last pool was akin to a small swimming pool having warm thermal spring water. The main source of this " SPRING WATER" to all the 4 different pool was from one large main thermal " Mother Pool " with mud that had water of very high temperature which could scald a human and hence the same water drained to the pools for reducing temperature and making it suitable for human immersion. On payment of extra money they also offer a " MASSAGE SERVICE" after the mud and thermal spring bath. After the completion of the mud springs hot bathe drove back to Wailoaloa in heavy traffic while approaching Nadi City reaching " The Ideal Bed and Breakfast " at 1600hrs .End of a excellent days sightseeing and a unique Fijian experience of a " Mud Hot Spring Bathe".Written 23 April 2024
- Explorer556930292970 contributionsGarden & Mud Pool ComboThe garden is beautiful and is full with hundreds of different plans and trees. After the tour, visitors were treated with a glass of cold fruit drink. The mud pool is fun. We cover our body with mud, took pictures, and washed it off in the "mud pool". Afterward, we moved to a hot spring pool. We enjoyed a good 30 minutes in the hot spring pool, and then got a massage (extra) before we left. I rate this combo tour a 4 because there was no one there selling cold drinks or beers. After a bath in the hot spring pool or after a massage (extra), it would have been a perfect time for a cold drink or beer.Written 20 February 2024
- D7522JMlauriem0 contributionsGreat trip to Navala village with ImmuI had a private trip to Navala village to see the historic thatched huts there. Immu was my driver and guide, and he did a wonderful job navigating the gravel roads and narrow bridges. Because it is the rainy season, and it had rained that morning , he was extra careful on the bumpy roads. He is very polite and professional, and I had a great day.Written 31 January 2024
- Sharpei720 contributionsA fun way to see some of the real FijiWe loved our trip with Sonny. Lots of fun, heaps of interesting local information and great sights. Natasha beach is lovely and a perfect spot for a swim. The jetty was also a great stop and our guide (Sonny) couldn’t it have been better. He really made the tour for us. Would highly recommend not just this tour but getting out and about in Fiji rather than starting at a resort for your trip.Written 24 January 2024
- Mixedtraveller0 contributionsWe lost $250 for dodgy “tour” booking, which was just a car & Indian driver. We booked this tour to take when visiting Lautoka on a visiting cruise ship. From the outset the communication was poor. We were originally told to meet the tour guide at the cruise port at 8am. I then noticed all the booking information said 9.30am. We arrived off the cruise and ALL tours and taxis were on the port. We couldn’t locate this tour anywhere so we called. The Indian Guide was very unhelpful and unclear with instructions. We were told to leave the gates of the port and go onto the roadway. I have no idea why they couldn’t come onto the port like all other tours or why at least the tour guide (which we later discovered was basically a taxi driver) didn’t meet us with a sign so we could locate them. We called several times and were given poor directions, then they hung up on us. We then called back several times to no avail. Please see screen shots which clearly show that 1. The tour was meant to leave at 9.30am, not 8am. That we were to meet at the Lautoka Port (not away from all other tours on the outside gate on roadway). That calls made were avoided. Note: after writing this we note that Tripadvisor doesn’t allow screen shots, only photos. The tour company refused any refund or resolution, just kept arguing with us, saying they were waiting since 8am. We DO NOT recommend this “tour” group (taxi or private car). Very dodgy and untrustworthy. Book elsewhere NOT here. We lost $250 then had to pay another $250 to another Fijian Guide to take us around.Written 22 December 2023

Excellent tour.
Sonny, our tour guide was generous with his time and local knowledge.
He made the trip fun and personal.
We took our 7 month old baby and he was very accommodating and helpful.
I highly recommend this tour.
Small, locally owned tour company so your money is going directly back to local families.
Wonderful experience.

We were taken to Iconic from a SCAM shop, BUT the tour by Sam was excellent.
Sam arrived on time, gave us excellent service, took us to a pottery local village, various beaches and we had a fabulous time and weren't pressured into doing anything, plenty of time for everything.
SCAM shop - LOCAL SOUVENIRS, Main St, Nadi - see photo. We trusted these people thinking money was going to the local village...$45 for a fridge magnet!!!!!!!
We seriously hope the money went back - if they wanted a donation, we would have gladly done this, but we were told we were getting good prices. my $10 magnet turned into $45. Our fault for not looking at the docket & trusting these people :(
