        Day trip ONLY!
Highs - Beautiful Island welcome - Great Food and helpful staff - Reasonable drinks. Wonderful authentic dances & singing. Comfortable bures tho very small doors and have to go to outside toilet at night..not always convenient as it rains often in the nights. Nice that they have small coffee tray and jug but sugar & powered creamer were always damp making ut difficult to use. Lows -  *Recommended Day Trip Only, not set up appropriately for over night stays. *Too close to mangroves to be called an island. Internet is charged but available in rooms which is handy. *Dirty muddy sea water and Too much wood slash from mangroves channels on the beach.. *Toilets 🚻 over loaded with day trippers using the shared bathrooms and walking into private ones as well as no proper locks. *Swimming pool completely empty and damaged. *Cat lying on eating tables and small puppy barking and snapping at people's legs and hands with sharp teeth, tearing clothing. * Uncomfortable boat to & from Island. *No fridge

        Perfect last day in Fiji
Staff was amazing. Small island where you feel you are all alone after a few minutes walk. I choose to do the coconut cooking class, it was so good. Great experience!!!

        Fabulous day tour
We had a fabulous day tour with Robinson Crusoe Island Tours. Our hotel pick up was on time and we were driven to the jetty to board the boat that goes down the river to the island in the sea. We enjoyed the snorkelling and the cultural show. Lunch was very good and the team who looked after us were amazing. Highly recommended.

        Not Good
I took this tour and would not recommend it. Two items advertised do not occur and several others are grossly exaggerated. No ancient pottery site and no weaving, carving and pottery demonstration. “Joining the crew on a mud crab catching adventure” consists of a crew member pulling two crab cages from the river on the way to the island. No explanation or information or adventure. The “jungle cruise” was the boat to the island which was no cruise. It is a narrow metal boat with metal benches crammed with the other passengers and little commentary. It’s no frills transport to the island, which is perfectly fine. But calling it a jungle cruise is indicative of what the owners of this company think of you. It took 75 minutes (each way) by bus to the boat. There was no information given the entire ride, like what the day would consist of or information about what we were driving by. That is then followed up with another 30 minutes in a boat to the village. Expect to spend most of day just travelling. The kava ceremony was nice and it seemed authentic. But it was a very long time to ask people to sit cross legged on concrete. Many of the older tourists were visibly uncomfortable but didn’t want to offend the villagers by standing up. Which brings me to another disappointing revelation: several participants in the ceremony aren’t actually villagers. They are employees dressed up like villagers who change outfits and then serve drinks or play other roles. And ride back with you into the city at the end of the day. The snorkelling occurs but it wasn’t good. It wasn’t actually guided. Then it was abruptly stopped after about 30 minutes. No one who participated was ready to get out. The final straw was the return trip. The boat takes you back to where the bus dropped you off. But expect to sit there for 45 minutes before your bus arrives. Bring bug repellent. You’re going to need it. Then enjoy your 75 minute bus ride in silence accompanied by the smell of a men’s locker room. Several of the employees were very nice and genuine people. But the management needs to rethink how they advertise this, include a tour guide given all the travel, contemplate the customer experience and improve the logistics.

        The Boat Ride from Hell
On February 14, my wife, my 2 sons, and I went on this tour. The tour involves a 35-40 minute boat ride to the island from their own jetty located on the Road to Natadola Beach. For the "boat ride", a pontoon was used. The pontoons have 4 rows of seating - 2 on the sides and 2 in the middle (back-to-back arrangment). The pontoon that took us to the island has "life jackets" stored on the ceiling of the boat. HOWEVER, after the dinner and the fire shows, the ride back was HELL-LIKE, because: 1/ The pontoon was full of people (I think maybe around 40 people including 3-4 small children, BUT THERE WAS NO LIFE JACKETS on the boat at all. 2/ The pontoon was not equiped with any kind of light for night time travelling except for a single "spot light". 3/ There were only 2 crewmembers, 1 is the captain and 1 is the deck hand. 4/ It was raining hard so all sides of the boat, except for the back side, was covered with plastic so the captain could not see ahead. To help the captain, the deck hand had to turn on his spot light to guide the captain. After establishing position and conveyed it to the captain, the deck hand then turned off his spot light. A boat carrying 40+ souls travelling in total darkness with occasional use of the lone navigation system - a spot light. I could never imagined a situation like this would exist in 2024, but I actually was in such situation. I fear for my life, my wife's life, my children's lives, and the lives of all passengers on the boat that night. 5/ Worse off, at one point during the journey back to the jetty, the deck hand turned on his spot light and shouted out to the captain. The captain immediately put the engine in reverse to stop the vessel from moving forward. The captain then changed direction and continued on. At that time I realized that the boat had almost hit something. Thanks God all guests at the event made it back to the jetty and back to their hotels. Anyway, I hope this will help future vacationers to decide whether or not this tour is for you and your family.

        Fun Day at Private Island
Small group on private island. Sean played guitar and sang on ~30 minute boat trip to get there once there, several activities to share the Fiki island life, have fun, and entertain (fire dancers). You may also just relax on the beach or swim. It was very windy and had rough waves the day we were there. Lunch was very good and plentiful. Bar was available for drinks. Day was topped off with crab races. 🦀 😁

        A real desert island 🏝️
I travelled here in March 2003 and stayed for 3 days. It was just like staying in a desert island. Hot water from a bucket shower. Caught my first tuna with Brett on his fishing boat. Ate my first fresh coconut straight from the tree. Camp fires. Friendly staff welcome and departure waving us off the island. It was truly paradise.

        A must do.
Great experience. Informative show, tasty dinner, Highlight was the fire knife show at the end with one part in the water, showering sparks. Boat ride back in the pouring rain wasn't fun but as a part of the experience loved it. The ride home over one and a half hours to our Nadi Resort was very unpleasant being wet with the A/C set to cold. Overall a wouldn't miss experience, the children had a blast.

        Worst experience.
Would not recommend, we got home past midnight, a very long evening, the dance was way too long and repetitive. The boat ride was ridiculous. We were shoulder to shoulder back to back and knee to knee. It was a very uncomfortable experience all up. And very pricey for what we got.

        Unique experience but poor communication
Food and show were wonderful! Unique experience! BUT, be aware, pickup was almost 2 hours earlier! Drink prices on boat should have been communicated, they’re not free. Poor communication all the way.

        Sunset cruise, dinner and entertainment
Time consuming bus trip from hotel to start of boat ride, including change from one bus to another but once on boat along river was great. Food plentiful, host informative with good sense of humour and entertainment excellent. Definitely worth while.

A very well organized trip for the day. Be prepared to arrive at your hotel way past 11pm at the end of the day. Lots of things to do on the island. Snorkling ( there are masks and snorkels ), mudcrab fishing and preparing soup of them, crab racing or just bathing in the sea. A really nice day for the kids. The evening show is spectacular if you like to watch dancing.
The not so great things were that a member of the staf screemed at my 13 year old daughter to get out of tbe bathroom when she was on her way in. My daughter is a timid and quiet girl and she was shaken after the insident, because she didnt do anything than try to enter the bathroom.
I found it very distasteful that both in the village we visited and on the Island were donation boxes. I really hope that Robinson Crusoe Island Tours pay the villages for their hospitality and if not then they should begin. Donation are random and unjustful.

Bula pr2621, Vinaka for your review on our popular Combo Cruise. It can be a long day depending on where you are staying. Some guests enjoy the value for money getting in some site-seeing on a comfy aircon coach. My most sincere apologies for the staff member who was rude to your daughter, its most unusual behavior indeed. Ill mention this at our next staff meeting. The donation boxes are just for a tip, same as one would at dinner for example. You're certainly not obliged to. RCIT pays the village an entry fee per person and donates towards other extraneous expenses when needed. The main thing is you thought the experience was well organised and the evening show spectacular. Vinaka vakalevu, Margarita and team.

A long day but an awesome experience! Absolutely loved the village tour with Lesi who took us through the church, chiefs house and introduced us to some of the locals. We took part in a kava ceremony and also had a dance with some of the locals. Be prepared and bring cash as you are asked for donations when in the village as well as the ladies selling arts and crafts - we didn’t all have cash and felt bad not buying anything. We left the village and checked the mud crab traps in the way ( it wasn’t a catch your own situation as described in the description of the tour!) We then went to the island which was lovely and relaxing but because of the weather ( wet season!) we couldn’t snorkel, swim or kayak! So between 12 and about 6pm there was nothing to do but sunbathe. This was fine with us and the people on the island ( Julian and co) were really welcoming and made a big effort to provide other things to do.

The toilets, showers and changing rooms on the island were really bad and need some serious work to make clean and useable really :( not flushing , really dirty and not really a functioning shower.

When the boats arrived for the evening events the vibe changed completely - it was really fun watching the lovo and watching the performances. The singing, dancing and fire dancing was incredible. At 9pm we boarded the boats back to the main island which was an experience in itself - a bit scary but an amazing experience!

We did the day and night combo. The mud crab catching adventure, was not. Two pots were pulled from the water with one average sized crab in each pot. I must have been somewhere else, as I did not know when the crab cooking lesson was, or the the tree climbing, or the bush walk. Whoever was supposed to be announcing or coming around to the island visitors, was not doing a very good job.
The food was wonderful. The staff were busy in the kiosk. Not enough of them. And the entertainment was great.
Very late night if you have small children. Back on boats by 9. Onto the buses. We arrived back at our resort (Warwick) at midnight.
Also tour booking agents need to advise disabled access to Vusama Village is difficult. Our tour guide helped as much as she could. And my husband had his own personal, warrior, to help him. Otherwise we would have had to stay at the boat and miss the wonderful, cultural tour.

we did the day/night all day tour and it was excellent. Picked up from our resort in a large clean, comfortable bus, and taken to the jetty to het the boat. The amenities at the jetty are very poor though. The guided tour through Vusama village with kava ceremony was educational and informative in the ways of Fijian village life.

Our boat driver and on board guide, (who was with us doing the whole day), were both fun and friendly. Likuri island was very pretty and all that one would expect on a Fijian island. There was plenty to do, and after being greeted to the island with song, the activities board at the bar was pointed out to all guests on the island with times of activities etc.
The snorkeling where you are taken to an outer reef was incredibly average, though the snorkeling guide was great. A ten minute boat ride out to the reef, 30-40minutes in the water, and a return ten minute trip back. They do need a ladder at the back of the boat so people can get in and out of the water from the boat quickly, safely, and efficiently.

Both lunch and dinner were provided, lunch was better for us though. and there is plenty of food and variety. Crab cooking, firewalking after the lovo dinner is prepared, and the dinnertime entertainment is excellent. Lots of dancing, and the firedancing was amazing!

A musical farewell as we boarded th boat and returned in almost pitch black down the river to the jetty where buses were waiting to return people to their accom.

Would definitely recommend, keeping in mind the all day tour is a late night for the kids.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience of the great journey to a local town and participating in the welcoming ritual. It sounds like a truly enriching and exciting adventure. A boat journey down the river to the island must have been a delightful experience, and engaging in various activities there must have added to the enjoyment.

A great day involving a boat trip down the scenic river, visiting Vusama Village, and enjoying a variety of activities on the beautiful Likuri Island. There's plenty of free time to relax. Everyone in Vusama Village and the team on the island was very welcoming. The cultural dancing and fire show was absolutely amazing. Thanks to everyone, including the coach driver, boat captain and tour guide, for an enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Fiji.

We were talked into buying the day and night combo and deeply regret it.
Because we came from a hotel further away, we had private transfer. Once we arrived at the jetty, we were put on the wrong boat and missed the village tour. There were no signs and the person gladly took our tickets when we boarded without question. Upon arrival at the island, we kept asking the guides about this and they just pushed us to play "island games" (ie egg and spoon race). Beware of this and get on the right boat! No one will check for you.

The rest of the day tour felt like a bit of a scam.. the snorkelling crew had to share snorkels because there wasn't enough, the food was quite bad and they had a fake turtle experience. All in all, we felt like it was a massive waste of time and not a genuine experience - it felt like they were trying to fill up time with random activities.

The only enjoyable part of the morning was the crab cooking, but we felt rejected because we were given scraps and left last (because we had missed the village tour.. not our fault).

The evening tour I would recommend, the performance is decent and cool fire shows.

Bula Lucia, Double Tree by Hilton is one of the closest resorts to Robinson Crusoe Island, just 30 min away, because it has an extra 10 min travelling time to the main road the transfer company provides a private car which is normally seen as a bonus at no extra expense to the guest. As explained when we discussed you missing the Village and Mud Crab Catching Tour boat, twenty four out of twenty six people managed to get onto the right boat so I am still at a loss as to how you got on the boat that goes direct to the island and not to the village which is half way down the river on the way to the island. The others on the boat were locals coming to the island for their company end of year break up for the day, it was a great opportunity to join in and really feel the sense of fun of the wonderful Fijians. The crab cooking demonstration is popular, as advertised it is a tasting only of the delicious curry crab soup and served in a half coconut shell. The turtle is also a fun thing done in between breeding season and explained along with an short education on the preservation and protection of the precious vonu (turtle). I feel this situation took a while for you to relax into the experience but eventually enjoy the amazing Legends of the Pacific evening. Tropical regards, Margarita and team.

We did this during our recent visit to Fiji.....We booked for 6 adults one 4 year old and a 5 year old and booked the full day and night show option for around 250 fijian per adult.
You can also book half day options or just night show options as well.
Rosie Tours transferred us from our hotel to the ferry which was around an hour's drive from Naviti, and we picked up our guide along the way!
Once on board we headed to a village along the river for a kava ceremony and look around! The people of the village were, like everyone in Fiji it seems, friendly and accommodating.
We went in to the main common house for the ceremony and had some time to look around! Hats need to be taken off and shoulders covered when in the village so just keep that in mind.
After a look around, including a visit to the chiefs house it was back on board and off to the Island via a stop to check on the crab pots!

The Island itself is beautiful, and situated just off shore. The resort basically takes up the whole island. Once there, one of the staff takes you through the days itinerary everything from crab racing to coconut husking and fire walking. Our lunch and dinner is included in the price of the tour but there is a bar with snacks.....however the snacks are very expensive.
The best thing Is, you can either do all the activities or do as many as you want....we did the snorkelling but then spent most of the afternoon just on the beach and at the restaurant area.
There is also a swimming pool that day guests can use as well as a spa!
Kayaks and water bikes can be hired along with snorkelling etc and fishing trips, dive trips and other activities can be arranged
Perhaps the highlight of the full day tour is being on the beach when those who have come for the island dinner and fire show arrive on the ferry. With the sun setting low on the horizon it was a truly beautiful experience lying in the hammock listening to the staff singing their welcome song with their incredible voices, as the ferry docked at the beach!
If you're on the main island and want a glimpse of another.....this is a must...booked through Rosie Tours.....exceptional day!

We were picked up from the Warwick and took the 1hr coach ride to the jetty. Then a boat ride down to the village through the mangroves.
The village visit was our highlight.
Thankyou to our amazing tour guide.
My husband was picked to be chief and participated in the Welcome Kava ceremony.
The villagers took us through their village, answering all our questions. It was an amazing insight into village life.
There was a market stall setup to support the local families. We loved the dancing at the end and feeling welcome.
Next we took the boat then down to Robinson Crusoe Island. We had been spoilt by South Sea Island the day before and noticed the differences in amenities (RC island pool wasn't filter and we didn't let our kids swim in it, you could only buy scoop ice cream, limited seats on beach ).
We spent the afternoon relaxing by beach, snorkelling, kayaking and big walk around the island.
The night activities is when the island came to live and we enjoyed ourselves. Watching the firewalking, singing by the bonfire and all the dances.
Highlight was also the boat ride back at 9pm, in pitch black, through the mangroves. Well done to our driver!! Please be respectful and keep your phone off.

What an experience! The whole trip was awesome. From pickup to drop off, can’t fault it.
The tour of the village was lovely. So much fun. The villagers are the most welcoming and warm humans.
The cultural experience is amazing. So different to Aus. A wonderful experience to put things into perspective.
Robinson Cruso Island was gorgeous. The lunch and dinner provided, plus the entertainment and activities made it all worth while.
Great value for money. Highly recommended.
