- Guide259080254370 contributionsBeautiful sunset dinner cruise with singing, dancing and cultural showGreat experience cruising out on the water, watching the sun set, being entertained by the crew singing and playing guitars and everyone dancing. Complimentary drink on boarding, followed by very tasty canapes while staff played guitars and sang. Dinner served inside, then a cultural show on deck as we sailed back to the marina. Great fun and value for money. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.Written 3 September 2024

- Explore552420402350 contributionsVery worthwhileThis cruise was a wonderful experience. The sunset was beautiful to see and listening to the staff singing and playing guitar was a delight. The range of food choices for the dinner was great and the lamb curry was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the Fijian dancing by the male staff, and everyone on board were smiling and friendly. A really lovely experience.Written 12 August 2024

- JaqJack0 contributionsYasawa Islands are beautiful, but its the staff onboard that made our experience amazing.Amazing experience. The staff onboard truely made our experience that much better. The islands we visited were beautiful and the snorkeling was amazing. Swimming in the caves, visiting a local school where the kids sang to us & showed us around, Lovo dinner at a village was delicious. We had a balcony room which was nice to sit & watch the sunset. It was hard to say goodbye to all the staff as they had become like family to us.Written 9 August 2024

- kv3h0 contributionsNight at the seaWe stumbled upon the cruise option and did not regret going on it one bit. Everyone, the staff, the guests, had a wonderful time. It was enjoyable to see everyone dance to the Fiji beats! The food was simply delectable. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to experience something worth remembering. Thank you Captain Cook cruises for having this option.Written 18 July 2024
- 580nellyt0 contributionsGreat views & staff, bad booking systemThe views are spectacular. The staff are wonderful and really made the whole night. They were friendly, welcoming & entertaining. The main negative is the Captain Cook website which is terrible. The booking system is so bad we gave up & booked through Luxury Escapes. I think they’re probably losing business because of this. The buffet was average but adequate. The views & staff make up for the other shortcomings. If you go expecting a 5 star meal & boat you will be disappointed, but if you want a nice sunset on the water with great staff, you’ll be happy.Written 2 July 2024
- nigelsmail20 contributionsCaledonia sky Fiji experienceWe had the most amazing time on our captain cook Fiji cruise aboard the Caledonia Sky. The Crew & staff- magnificent. Islands—spectacular. Villages we visited were amazing & authentic/ traditional. Wonderful cultural immersion. Fiji villages were so welcoming and pure of heart & spirit. With no big ships, only small vessels possible, and due to reef, the ship can be only meters from a beach. We had about 50 guests on board with 70 staff, and felt totally spoilt. Our cabin with balcony was spacious and luxurious. Would go again in a heartbeat!!Written 28 June 2024
- Adventure575917630720 contributionsSouthern Lau Island group and more - a very special 7 night small ship cruise on MV Caledonia SkyDay 4 zodiacs whisk us ashore to yet another stunning island in the southern Lau group. This time it is Toyota island and village. Villagers serenade us ashore and local school kids perform songs and dancers - and proudly let us see there class rooms. This is typical of the wonderful Fijian hospitality these past 4 days - always a rousing welcome whenever we go ashore. The MV Caledonia Sky is purpose-built for small ship cruising in these waters - easy access to zodiacs from the stern - even days you can do the Pacific Plunge from the back deck. The crew are wonderful - nothing is too much trouble - and our safety is foremost on every event we undertake - at least twice a day. Importantly the cabins are spacious well-appointed (originally designed by a hotel group) - bath tub/shower; super comfortable queen bed; loads of wardrobe space and balcony - on our deck 5. And serviced twice a day. The cruise will appeal to young and old … food is delicious (wine/beer included with lunch and dinner) and you will be spoilt all the way. About 65 crew including a 6 or 7 expedition team and very competent captain and officers on the bridge. We’ve loved it thus far - 3 days to go.Written 26 June 2024
- H8902PDdiannes0 contributionsWe BOOKED A CAPTAIN COOK. Just do it. You will love the experience.Fabulous cruise. Fabulous room with a balcony, we used for early morning cuppa, book reading in arvo and having a wine watching the sunset. There is a lounge on the top deck where you can also do all those things. Beach activities daily for a swim in the ocean, ample opportunities for snorkelling, lazing on the beach, even diving for those qualified. Day trips to little schools to see the students sing and dance, and they can really shake it!!! Visits to villages. Whatever suits you to do or not do. Most amazing friendly helpful smiling staff. We enjoyed each lunch on the deck and dinner in the dining room each evening and each meal was great. Plenty to choose from at breakfast on the deck. The farewell from the combined staff is just an amazing experience. Joy, warmth and emotion. The coach trips between Port Denaru and the Port at Lautoka is the only slight drawback to an otherwise fabulous cruise, but the experience of the beautiful Fijians onboard the lovely ship is well worth any slight inconvenience. Go BOOK A CAPTAIN COOK. Experience something wonderful for all ages. Staff were amazing with those fellow passengers needing any assistance, particularly when boarding and getting off the zodiacs.Written 14 June 2024
- F7301WCkent0 contributionsHighly RecommendedWe took the Sunset Dinner Cruise because it was my wife's 60th birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The crew and wait staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was surprisingly good, and I'm comparing it to the resort and restaurant food we ate on Denarau Is. We purchased a cake for $69 FJD as part of the cruise, and the staff sang happy birthday to my wife. They made her feel special. She loved it! The onboard entertainment was great, and we loved the cultural show. The ship is a bit dated, but the hard working staff more than make up for it. Highly recommended!Written 12 June 2024
- 902annez0 contributionsWorth every cent! Highly recommendIt was an amazing 7 days, with visits via zodiac to remote islands, reefs and communities a long way from the hustle and bustle of the main island. Beautiful islands with crystal clear water and pristine reefs, and just our group on the beach. The ship was very comfortable and very well appointed, the cabins were very spacious with roomy bathrooms. From the wonderful captain down, every crew member was keen to ensure we had the best holiday possible, with any request met quickly and politely ( with a good dash of humor thrown in ) . The meals were all excellent as were the cocktails at the end of the day, while a crew member presented on a particular aspect of the area we were visiting - the reef ecology, marine biology, cultural points. Some of the passengers had physical limitations and these were all well accommodated in excursions and activities. We had a wonderful trip and would go back in a heartbeat. Great job Captain Cook Cruises Fiji !Written 24 May 2024

Takes 1.5 hours to get there so your only getting 3.5 hours island time where 1 hour is used for lunch, and 2.5 hours aint much If you want max Island time do any Southseas trip. This Island thou has better swim value then them 100 percent just not much time to properly experience it.
Island Buildings needs renovation asap, Toilets were dirty, some sun chairs look dated & damaged SUPs that were still put to be used. Kayaks were all good tho. The Food was average just good for a feed and no drink refreshments provided for lunch besides water. Drink prices are well priced soda cans $4 beers $6. The Main Host and Singer was Superb the only worker that gave the full Bula Spirit, not to point out the other workers were dull they were all nice just less proactive.
Just okay.

Thanks for comments. Cleanliness is our highest priority and this has been addressed continually for the last few months. We are now part of the Fiji Wellness programme and all crew have had additional training. I'm so pleased you loved our beach, the best in the Mamanuca!!

The island itself is beautiful and there is some good snorkelling over coral reef out from the end of the pier where the boat docks. The water is so clear you can see almost to the bottom and can watch the small reef sharks swimming along the shoreline. The lunch was delicious with many different options available (salads, meats) and the live music throughout the day was beautiful and really added to the island feel.
Unfortunately the entire day felt very short and rushed. The boat itself doesn't depart until 10am and takes the best part of an hour to get to the island despite it being very close to Viti Levu. Boarding to return begins just after 3pm so even if you're the first person off the boat on arrival you will only get four hours of island time which I think is too little for the price paid. I would recommend increasing the time on the island by departing an hour earlier and returning an hour later.
The amount of snorkelling gear is limited so there is not enough available for everyone to use at once (and this was without the trip being completely full). The gear also wasn't in the best repair - the first snorkel I was given to use had the mouthpiece completely chewed away so there was nothing to bite onto to keep it in your mouth.
Also disappointed that some of the cultural experiences (such as the welcome kava ceremony) that others mentioned were simply not done and we were not informed of this either when booking or on the day.
For better value for money for an island day trip I'd look elsewhere.

Bula, can I please ask when you cruised? We discontinued the kava ceremony during COVID restrictions and have been taking time to update all the equipment following the lock down of 2 yrs. The snorkel gear was all replaced and the kava ceremony reintroduced recently with individual bowls. come back and try again.

Wife and I had the best day on our day trip with Li and the crew. All staff were super warm and helpful. We were lucky enough to book in on a day that was quiter than usual so had plenty of room to move around and take photos on the gorgeous boat and island. Snorkeling around the little bay was a positive experience, once again Li was super helpful and patient with my wife who had never snorkelled before. Overall a very enjoyable experience, well worth the money. Vinaka!

Tivua Island Cruise was very enjoyable. The tour leader, LEE, was outstanding!! Due to rain, Lee prearranged a "weather protected" transport boat to/from Tivua Island. He engaged us individually before boarding and provided entertaining and informative dialogue for the remainder of the island visit. The entire crew seemed to love what they were doing!

This by far was our families favorite island. It was indeed the most beautiful water of all of our day island trips we did. Lunch was good. The water and sand on the west side of the island were soft. Black tipped small sharks swam around us and were really fun to see. Our family of 4 adults would probably skip this tour in the future, however due solely to the boat ride to and from the island. The other day trips we went on to other islands and not Robinson Caruso used higher speed catamarans to and from the port. This group used a catamaran, but once we left the port past the "no wake zone" speed, we literally didn't change speeds, we slowly motored to the island, which took us about 1 1/2 hours to get to the island, which was about the same distance as the other islands we toured days before, and those took 30-45min. For us, this was a drawback as it lent to more motion sickness on the boat, and more time on the boat round trip and less time on the island. We felt we had just arrived at the island when it was time to go back. We unfortunately opted to hire a speed boat ($$$) back to to port vs taking the already paid excursion transport. But we didn't get motion sick in the high speed boat and was back in 25min. If this excursion had a higher speed option to/from the island, we'd do it again in a heartbeat, but unfortunately the slow transport wasn't a good thing for us. Other than that, the island was simply wonderful!!!

So sorry to hear you had motion sickness, the leisurely sail to the island is a big part of the experience and our crew make it fun too with guitars, singing and cultural demonstrations. We also serve morning and afternoon tea. 4 hours on the island is just perfect.

We did the Tivua Island day trip with Captain Cook Cruises on our recent break in Fiji. It was an excellent day, and an experience that we would recommend to any other travellers. Right from our morning pick-up at Radisson Blu until our drop-off back at the resort in the afternoon, everything was great. It's a 90 minute boat journey to the island, which has white sandy beaches and clear waters surrounding. Snorkelling, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, and glass bottom boat rides are included in the ticket price. Buffet lunch is provided, and beer/wines/soft drinks are also free of charge once on the island. Shade Cabana's are available and a must, and you can also book massages. It is excellent value for money, and we got a good discount as we also did the Sunset Dinner cruise earlier in the week. This is an excellent experience, and the staff members go out of their way to be friendly and make you feel welcome.

We cruised on an old sail boat.l which added some fun to our experience. When we got caught in a rainstorm on the way home, the crew provided ponchos and had us singing in the rain. This cruise was much better than one we had done at the Great Barrier Reef earlier in our trip. We could actually see coral and fish through the glass bottom boat, saw many species of fish and coral when we snorkeled, and had a bungalow with shower/toilet for just our group. The food was good and of course, all drinks were free. It’s a fun place to spend a day in Fiji.

This day trip was excellent. Was craving the tranquility and stillness of the islands. Crew were amazing, friendly and informative! The ship was authentically aged!!!
The island had cabanas for all, glass bottom boat tours of the reefs, ability to snorkel, paddle board, canoe and scuba dive. There was a “kids club” for the kids and were naturally drawn to the amazing staff. Massage was also available for those who didn’t rest in our cabana.
We walked around the island swam with baby reef sharks. BBQ was amazing as well. The crew entertained the tired and drained children and the rest of us with wonderful renditions of nursery rhymes. The wheels on the bus had never drawn such a crowd in.

We did the half day Tivua Island cruise that was included in our holiday package by MyFiji. We were not expecting much, as usually inclusions like this are underwhelming. We all agreed this was one of the best days of our trip.
The six of us throughly enjoyed the entire experience. The massages were just lovely, and we enjoyed the snorkelling. The BBQ lunch provided was tasty and plentiful too.
The staff were amazing, and could not be faulted. Each and every one of them provided the highest level of service. Leigh and Simon went above and beyond to make us feel like family during the trip.
The entire day, from hotel pick up, to onboard, to the island and return was nothing short of exceptional.

My young family and I enjoyed this day so much. We were blessed with calm sailing and the crew were singing so happily to us all the whole way, the journey was as good as the island was beautiful. The water was bath temperature and I saw plenty of new fish for the first time when snorkelling, including beautiful cuttlefish. Lunch was simple but wholesome and tasty. After lunch Adi played with our 6 and 10 year olds giving the adults an hour to chill before a tropical downpour hit - and even that was fun for us all as it was still warm! Thank you Li for telling us what we needed to know and when and for the crew for giving us a unique Fijian sailing experience

We are certified divers (3) seniors. I saw that diving was available on Tivua. Are they beach dives with the coral so close to the island? How much is a two tank dive?
