Lima Cooking Class with a Local Family
From US$83.00
Overview
Peruvian cuisine incorporates ingredients from the surrounding land and sea, using recipes handed down through the generations. On this Lima cooking class, delve into the world of Andean cookery and enjoy an immersive experience away from the tourist trail. Browse fresh ingredients in the bustling food markets with your guide, and prepare delicious dishes the traditional way with your hosts in a local family home.
What to Expect
Make your way to the Miraflores neighborhood in the afternoon, and meet your guide to begin your Peruvian cooking experience.

First, head to a local food market and rub shoulders with locals as you browse fresh produce. As you explore with your guide, gain insight into the fruits, spices, and vegetables important to traditional Andean cuisine and make any purchases you wish (own expense).

Next, hop aboard a public bus and head to a local home in the nearby Chorrillos neighborhood for your cooking class where you meet your hosts.

Under careful guidance from your host, chop, slice, and dice fresh, local ingredients and prepare a traditional ceviche. Discover recipes handed down through the generations.

Shake up a traditional pisco sour cocktail and enjoy your food among your fellow chefs.

Your Lima cooking class experience ends at your host’s home in Chorrillos.

Amazing evening

This cooking lesson far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Not only did I learn specific dishes I was taught a larger understanding of Peruvian cuisine with history lessons and insightful knowledge. Cannot recommend this lesson enough.
