Full-day Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley Trip from Cusco
US$60.00
Overview
Peru's Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain offer beautiful wilderness and spectacular scenery, but reaching the heights without transport or local knowledge makes for a tough challenge. On this full-day guided tour, hike into the rugged Red Valley and reach the summit of spectacular Rainbow Mountain. Breakfast, lunch, entrance fees, and round-trip travel from Cusco are included, making for an easy day of adventure.
What to Expect

Following an early-morning pickup at your Cusco accommodation, board your air-conditioned minivan and head out for your full-day tour, starting with a traditional breakfast in the local Qesyuno community. Then, with energy levels high, follow rugged hiking trails through the Red Valley to the summit of Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)—an incredible naturally multicolored formation considered among the most spiritually significant peaks in Peru. From this vantage point at more than 16,500 feet (5,000 meters), admire panoramic views over the open countryside.

With your guide to lead the way, spot native wildlife among the cliffs and trails, and enjoy the feeling of escaping the busy city. Stop for lunch along the trail and experience the tranquility of the Peruvian wilderness.

Conclude your trek back in Qesyuno, then transfer back to central Cusco, where your tour ends.

Amazing...

Very nice place. It snowed for 10 minutes then all of a sudden sky was clear and warm. Very high altitude.

Breathtaking

Disappointed

I booked the rainbow mountain/red valley trip for two, paid the price for this route, received and email voucher confirming that the trip would in fact include both the rainbow mountain and red valley, but got to the summit and was told that we were...More

Rainbow Mountain and the Hike through the Red Valley was an amazing trip!! I seriously suggest you go back from Rainbow Mountain through the Red Valley. Yes, it is a 3-hour hike but you will always be descending from the 5000m.a.s.l that Rainbow Mountain is...More

Yes, there are horses available for Rainbow Mountain only. Red Valley is not suitable for horses, only a few people take that longer trail. If you go through the Red Valley after you get to Rainbow Mountain, you should not... More
