About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- wendyp4990 contributionsSurrounding Stanley Private TourWe arrived in Stanley on a cruise ship, so we only had a day on the island. After taking the tender to the dock, we had no trouble connecting with our guide, and off we went. You don't need to go far from town to visit penguins, if you know where they hang out, and our guide certainly did! We saw Magellanic, Gentoo and Kings, as well as up-close encounters with a sea lion and even a pod of dolphins surfing on a beach. Just a terrific morning! Highest recommendation.Written 18 March 2025
- michelleoV9752LB0 contributionsKelp PointThe elephant seals and penguins were amazing. Kyle. Explain all about the island . We loved every minute. We can’t wait until next timeWritten 8 March 2025
- F8198UBleet0 contributions100% Recommend! 🇫🇰100% recommend Falkland Outdoors! Dan, Kyle and his team were fantastic. These guys really care and have such a huge passion for what they do.Written 5 March 2025
- rowenas1970 contributionsThe Falklands with Falklands OutdoorJanuary 2025 Just to say a huge thank you to Kyle of Falkland Outdoors for the most amazing visit to Volunteer Point, a nature reserve, a definite must visit while in the Falklands. You can spend hours watching the King Penguins some incubating the eggs some just sauntering around and even a chick born last year who had yet to grow his feathers. The beautiful sandy beach which is 2 miles long had Penguins going for a dip and those returning. It was mesmerising.. Even when heavy rain started it was hard to drag oneself away. Thank you Kyle for your companyWritten 19 February 2025
- Daydream281739937490 contributionsBattlefields Tour and Whale PointWe went on two trips with Falklands Outdoors - both a full day. What an absolutely fantastic experience. This is a small family business and Kyle was our amazing tour guide. Being a 5th generation Falklander, Kyle not only gave us tourist information but also what day to day living in the Falklands is really like. Ask him anything!! As for the trips the Battlefield tour - Fitzroy,Darwin, Goose Green, The Argentine Cemetary, San Carlos and the mountains surrounding Stanley - we had detailed information from Kyle and got a real feel for how the 1982 conflict developed from the first landing to taking Stanley. The trip to Whale Point to see Elephant Seals and Gentoo Penguins was a once in a lifetime experience for us. What magnificent beasts! Also Kyle had received some local knowledge of a King Penguin on another local beach and we made a slight detour on the way back to Stanley. What an amazing way to end the day! We cannot praise Kyle and Falklands Outdoors highly enough. Two amazing days which absolutely made our stay in Stanley very special. Thank you.Written 18 February 2025
- I2892ZYsteveb0 contributionsLook no furtherLook no further when booking to visit penguins seals or anything quite frankly on this beautiful island we were lucky enough to have the brilliant Kyle and surprised to find out the tour was just my husband and myself win win Kyle had a wealth of knowledge in every area including the Falklands war being that he is one of seventh generation of islanders Quite honestly I had the best day ever nothing was too much trouble and what a bonus to eat his mothers special yummy cake and his brothers home made bread. Now I bet you don’t get that on a ship booked tour. Don’t hesitate book with this company you will not be disappointedWritten 5 February 2025
- 191craigr0 contributionsThe Falklands Outdoors Tour to Volunteer Point is PhenomenalThe Volunteer point tour with Falkland Outdoors is must do tour. Five stars. It was the highlight of our cruise ship journey around Cape Horn. The transportation was provided by brothers Kyle and Daniel providing two jeeps (a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Ranger Rover) driven to Volunteer point and Yorke bay. We saw Gentoo, King and Magellanic penguins in the native Falkland habitat. The landscapes from the off-roading jeeps were phenomenal. There were long wind swept seaside vistas. Falkland Outdoors is truly a small family tour company experience with many family members participating. The home made wonderful lunch included cheese and chutney on homemade bread, and a delicious Ukrainian tea cake dessert with chocolate icing made by the family. The family has lived on the Falklands for generations and will give you the inside scoop on the nature - and living in the Falklands. The tour was brilliant!Written 30 January 2025

- LexTrep0 contributionsGreat fun and up-close adventure to elephant seals and gentoo penguinsSuper fun adventure to Kelp Point with Dan on a cruise ship port of call in Stanley. We were picked-up directly at the jetty and whisked to Kelp Point to go see penguins and elephant seals. We definitely recommend booking you tour with Falkland Outdoors! Tip: bring all-season clothing, the weather changes in a heartbeat.Written 2 March 2024
- GenevaJenn0 contributionsHonest, reputable companyThank you to this honest tour company. I was so sad when the weather forced our ship to cancel this port. I was refunded immediately by this company. If I ever have the chance to come back here, I would certainly book with this company again.Written 15 January 2024
- chrisrA6259CC0 contributionsThoroughly recommend for wildlife trips and adventuresWe did three trips with Dan and his team - Volunteer Point for the penguins, Kelp Point for the elephant seals and a sea kayaking expedition. All three were very well organised and expertly guided in a very friendly and engaging way. We learned so much about the Falklands talking to Dan and his team, about the wildlife but also the history and culture of the Islands. Generously, they also gave us excellent advice for trips we did on our own which helped us enjoy the Falklands even more. We couldn't pick a favourite but the sea kayaking was a unique way to see the wildlife and an overall great experience. I thoroughly recommend the team and if I do come down again will certainly do some more trips with Falklands Outdoors.Written 10 January 2024
- 173lynnes0 contributionsBrilliant, kind, knowledgeable, funI have been lucky enough to experience both kayaking and hiking with Falkland outdoors, both times I was accompanied by a group of teenagers. I cannot speak highly enough of the team, utterly professional, kind and knowledgeable, with seemingly unending patience. Honestly fabulous all round. I look forward to more adventures in the future.Written 25 November 2023
- Bonitayas0 contributionsDream day KayakingAbsolutely fantastic day, Kayaking with Dan. Me and my work colleagues, had a lush day, out on the sea, enjoying the breathtaking scenery as well as listening to Dans knowledge of the island. An experience like know other, dolphins dancing in front of us, too sea lions surrounding us and of course penguins. Highly recommend booking with Falklands outdoors for a 5 star service.Written 5 June 2023
- Lars J0 contributionsKaykaing with dolphins and penguinsWent sea kayaking and Dan was an excellent guide. Just fantastic to have both dolphins and penguins swim not only next to the kayak but also under the kayak. Went out to the tussack islands and got ashore for a cup of warm coffee and cake before heading back towards the shore - and along the way coming across even more dolphins who swam alongside the kayak for a while. Dan himself is highly knowledgeable about the area and very pleasant to spend time with. If you are in the Falklands you should really look up Dan for an amazing experience.Written 9 March 2023
- AW00010 contributionsWildlife Kayaking TripI had a really good evening kayaking trip in William Bay, a great way to see the wildlife close up and a peaceful, enjoyable experience. The kayaks were very stable and you kept nice and warm in the dry suits. We paddled round a tussac island, seeing dolphins, shearwaters, tussacbirds and penguins, and were followed back for a long way by an inquisitive seal. Dan and Alice run a well-organised trip, providing all the kit you need. I thoroughly recommend it.Written 20 February 2023

As someone who's never Kayaked before, Dan gave me and the rest of my family (some of whom were very experienced!) a great early evening experience. He talked us through all the basics, made us feel comfortable, gave us options on double vs single kayaks, and set us off on our exciting journey! We kayaked to the two Tussac Islands just beyond Port Stanley, visiting both, and seeing all the wildlife - penguins, sea lions, and birds - by heading down each of their coasts. We even landed on one of the islands, where Dan handed out coffee, tea, and cakes and took us on a tour of an old military position from the war on top of the island. We watched the sunset and then headed back to shore, and as someone who was a little nervous in the open water, Dan helped me and the rest of the family to feel completely at ease. Highly recommend and would 100% do it again!

We booked a tour with Falklands Outdoors because our cruise excursion was fully booked. It was amazing!!! During our trip a local told us that we were very lucky because Daniel is the best guide on the island and we completely agree! Our cruise excursion was mostly driving just to get to one beach. We went to multiple beaches in the area, saw magellanic penguins, gentoo penguins, and king penguins. We are certain that the Falklands Outdoors was much better than the cruise excursion would have been.

Ailie was our tour guide and she was waiting for the four of us by the Visitor Information Center. We were about a half hour early, having caught an earlier tender, but she was right there!
Ailie was very knowledgeable about the island and told us a lot of history on the driving part of the trip (about half on paved road and half off road). We were treated!) to all kinds of weather - sun, drenching rain, wind, you name it! Lots of Gentoo penguins at Bertha’s Beach! We had a coffee/tea break with some delicious pastry bars, baked by her mum, who is also a Falkland Outdoors tour guide!
Then she took us to Gypsy Cove, where a short walk took us to some molting Magellanic penguins.
Next, Ailie took us on a tour around Stanley, pointing out some local sites, before dropping us off at a restaurant for lunch at the end of our tour.
We had a great time in the Falklands and highly recommend Falkland Outdoors!

Nadia was excellent, very friendly, knowledgable and informative, despite only being with the company since December, and keen to share her love of Penguins.
Nadia went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, showing us highlights along the way, to and from Berthas Beach e.g. Boot Hill. We stopped for a cup of tea (well done Nadia you passed the tea making test!), and a slice of homemade cake (thank you to Dan’s mum) it was delicious.
We highly recommend this private tour, it’s well worth it and you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to all for making this a perfect day.

Dan picked us up right where the ships tender dropped us off. We explained we would like to visit key conflict sites from 1982, and see wildlife if possible. The trip was fantastic. Dan explained all we wanted to know and took us to a bay where there were Rock Hopper penguins, and great cormorants or shags. Dan had prepared a great packed lunch for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Dan then took us back into Stanley where we toured important memorials, and the coast road. This is a man who loves his home and is dedicated to conservation and sharing with visitors the great ecosystem that is the Falklands. A great trip and highly recommended. ( and we met Lucy, Dans wife. Lucy is a goldsmith, with a lovely little store right in town)
Thank you so much for an unforgettable day. Rick and Cindy H

My husband and I had a wonderful experience visiting Bertha's Beach and York Beach with Fran. We wanted to see penguins and Fran brought us to the best places to see them. It was also a learning experience for us. She shared information on the way of life and history of the Islands.
We recommend Falkland Outdoors to anyone who wants to get up close to penguins and experience personnalize and genuine hospitality.

A big thank you to Dan for this canoe kayak outing, it was a magnificent outing!! We were able to see lots of animals from the water (cormorant, magellanic penguins, sea lions, shearwaters...) Dan had planned a short break for tea to wait for sunset to see birds that only come back at night! Thanks to Dan for his attention and his desire to give us a wonderful experience!! I recommend these outdoor outings to discover the Falklands in a different way!

A Seventh generation Falkland’s family provided an outstanding experience touring Stanley area for wildlife and birds. We witnessed up close plenty of penguins and elephant seals (amazing) and had the opportunity of all all day tour for four at a berry reasonable cost. Lunch and breaks were provided at no cost and even featured home baked food as well as supermarket goodies. Dan, his mum and sister are so well prepared.

The guides picked us up at the Jetty pier and started the tour. We were able to visit the beach and have enough time to view and walk with the penguins, sheep, and birds.
The guides provided us with a homemade snack with soft drinks and water.
Visited all the other locations and were dropped off at the pier well on time for port-side shipping and snacking while the tender boarding line shrinks
I recommend it.

On a one day cruise stop, we were fortunate enough to choose Falklands Outdoors for a private tour of Stanley.
Our guide was Ailie McIntire who was really fantastic. She customized our day to what we wanted to see, and was extremely knowledgable about the history of the Falkland Islands (she is 4th generation) as well as the flora and fauna. We had a great combination of seeing animals (penguins!) but also seeing the town and understanding the history, including the Falklands War with Argentina.
We would highly recommend Falklands Outdoor and that you ask for Ailie.
