What to Expect
Depart from your Beijing hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle at 8:30am and relax during the scenic drive to the Huaibei Skiing Resort. It takes about 1.5 hours driving from downtown to Huaibei Skiing Resort.

Known as the backyard of Beijing, Huaibei Ski Resort set in the Jiugukou Natural Scenic Area, the ski resort is surrounded by the Great Wall on three sides. Tourists can have a fine view of the 4.5-kilometer long Great Wall from the Ming Dynasty that extends along the mountains. Covering an area of 9.6 square kilometers, with a snow-covered area of 10,000 square meters, the Huaibei Skiing Resort is the largest one in Beijing and can accommodate 5,000 tourists in one day.

The ski trails in Huaibei  Ski Resort consist of one “magic carpet”, three chairlifts (the only ski resort where there is a chairlift for the beginners’ trail), four drag lifts, and eight trails (one advanced trail, three intermediate trails, and four beginner trails). Also, there is a ski park. The length of the trails is 4,600 meters in total with a drop elevation of 238 meters.

Your tour guide will explain how to get your ski equipment and tell you how to use the facilities, then you will spend 2-3 hours on your own to enjoy your skiing.

Your lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Huairou district. This area is well-known for chestnut, mushroom and trout. Your tour guide will assist you in ordering the country style dishes.

After lunch, you will enjoy a relax ride to the Chunhuiyuan Resort (1 hour driving) where you will enjoy an outdoor hot spring for about 2 hours.  The hot spring here comes from 1230 meters underground, and it's abundantly rich in minerals and elements. The temperature of water here ranges from 29 C to 90 C. All the pools – of various sizes, temperatures and bubbliness – are filled with different remedies, including flora, rose, red wine, milk and more. At the outdoor lakeside hot spring, while you are soaking yourself into the pool, you can pamper your eyes and calm yourself with the mesmerizing view of the lake with the modern buildings opposite.

Benefits of hot spring:
• Relax all the body muscles, eliminating stress.
• Improve metabolism and remove fatigue and the minerals contained in the water are believed to have health promoting, healing and even anti-aging effects.
• Ideal for people suffering from sciatic nerve pains, tendonitis, arthritis, muscle pains or insomnia problems, and people recovering after an accident or operation.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

A trip highlight!
Lucy was such a great guide! This was my second day of a 4 week trip and one of the most memorable days! Lucy was very knowledgeable and enhanced the visit to the Longqing Gorge and Ming Tombs. She took us for a delicious lunch as well!

Excellent tour.
Prompt pick up. Our guide, Anson, was very knowledgeable about his country's history and the locations we visited. It made the car ride out go by quickly. This section of the wall is less busy but there are a lot of steep stepped climbs. Anson was great and stayed back at a watchtower with my wife while I ran up to see the steeper parts on my own for about 20 minutes. The chair lift up was scenic and the toboggan ride down was a lot of fun. Lunch was good and our guide picked excellent food for us (and phoned ahead so it was ready almost as soon as we got there.) We also went to the Summer Palace and Anson told is the history of the place as we strolled through the gardens and around the gate. Having the driver drop off at one entrance and pick us up at the other end made it convenient as we didn't have to walk back. He took excellent pictures of us and even stopped at the Olympic "Birds Nest" Stadium on the way back to our hotel for some photos. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour on Great Wall with Lucy
We're excited to have Lucy with us to experience the Great wall and Summer Palace. From the pick-up at hotel till the sunset, Lucy was friendly and professional where she can answer many ad-hoc questions regarding history and culture. Upon arrival at the wall, Lucy was spot on of which passage we should take as it's less cloudy and crowded. Very fun trip and we will definitely book another one next year!

Great tour with Linda
Linda led an informative and engaging tour of the Forbidden City. She was knowledgable about the rich history of China and answered our questions thoroughly and with great English. The tour was very convenient- we got picked up from our hotel, skipped long lines with Linda's tourist identification, and had a completely private tour, all for a reasonable price. We highly recommend Linda's tour!

4 hour tour
I was only visiting Beijing for a short time and this tour was a great way to see Tiananmen and the Forbidden City. My guide met me at my hotel, took care of tickets for the Forbidden City and was very informative along the way.

The best way to see the Great Wall and Summer Palace
We went on the Great Wall and Summer Palace private tour with Anson at the end of September. We are glad we did for a variety of reasons. 1. Anson was extremely knowledgeable and his English was phenomenal as he lived in the US for 6 years. 2. Everything was truly seamless. Anson recommended that we leave at 7:30 to beat traffic on the road and hoards of tourists at the wall. When we got to the Great Wall we went right onto the chair lift with no lines. We also didn't have waiting for lunch. Anson selected awesome food and ordered ahead of time so it was waiting for us when we got there. We also were able to get right into the Summer Palace. 3. Anson knew where to get some great photos and took several photos of us at both locations with awesome backgrounds. This was a key part of going since it was such a big trip. During our time in Beijing, my husband and I went to two sections of the Great Wall and Mutianyu (the one visited on this tour) is definitely the section I would recommend. The Summer Palace is absolutely gorgeous and even cooler than we thought it would be. I'd highly recommend this tour to get the most out of your time in Beijing.

Great tour with family
We were 2 adults + 1 kid (3 years old) and everything went great. From the pick up from our apartment (8:30), the drive was nice and comfortable (90 mins). Our Guide Lucy was very friendly and her explanation/knowledge was professional. She gave great tips where go for pictures and anything else you need. (gift,...) The lunch with her and the driver was very good and had many choices. We hope we will get back to China (Beijing) soon to have another tour with Lucy.

Exciting and fun hutong food tour with Jimmy!
My sister and I had a wonderfully fun and informative food tour through a Beijing hutong with our knowledgeable and charismatic guide Jimmy. Jimmy started us off with some hotpot — my sister’s favorite part of the tour, despite using too much Sichuan pepper sauce at first! Then we stopped to try some freshly made candy crabapple (think: candy apple) because crabapples are currently in season — delicious and not overly sweet. Our next stop was for jian bing (pancakes) which we took with us as we strolled through the hutong and talked about the similarities and differences between daily life in Beijing vs New York City. Next up was the big test of the night: (pig) intestine soup - one of the local delicacies. Neither my sister nor I are usually the adventurous type when it comes to food but we both gave the intestine (heart, liver, and lung) soup a try and it wasn’t nearly as daunting as I feared it would be. The broth was pretty good actually. The meat was really chewy so I eventually ate the meat like I eat oysters and just sucked it down without chewing. I doubt I’d order the soup again but I’m happy we at least tried it! We wrapped up tour with a couple of less adventurous but more delicious stops for noodles, dumplings, and desserts. All in all, it was a very fun few hours made even more enjoyable by our wide-ranging conversations with our guide Jimmy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with a curiosity about local Beijing cuisine!

4 hour tour of the forbidden city
Me, my husband and our three kids (aged 7, 11 and 11) booked a tour for the Forbidden city. The tickets were sold out due to the 70th celebration but Miko (our tourguide) managed to get us tickets. We had a wonderful experience with Miko. He had very much knowledge and was very fun to spend time with. Even the kids enjoyed the whole tour and was very interested and everything he told us about. We highly recommend Miko. He is easygoing and fun to be around. As it was my fathers birthday (whom was not with us on this trip) Miko recordes a special birthday video from within the Forbidden city to wish him a happy birthday. This just shows that he goes that extra mile. If you a doing a tour in Beijing, ask for Miko as your tourgudie.

Excellent tour with Lucy
Just got back from a truly excellent day tour to the Great Wall and Summer Palace with a group of business colleagues. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a fantastic and not too crowded section of the wall as well as the beautiful summer palace with a tasty local lunch stop in between. Our tour guide was Lucy - she was very friendly and knowledgable and kept us all on track and informed throughout the day. If I had more time I would certainly be very happy to take another tour with Lucy.

Could have been better
I booked this tour for my boyfriend and I after reading all the great reviews. Our tour guide was David. He was about 10 minutes late (not a huge deal), but once he got to our hotel said he would order us a taxi to go to Tiananmen. We suggested instead that we take the metro, given the horror stories we heard about Beijing traffic. He said not to worry and we went outside to wait for the taxi. What would have been a 20-30 minute taxi in a mystical fairy tale no traffic Beijing world, turned into an 1.5 hour taxi ride. We didn't get to Tiananmen until noon, when our tour "started" at 10am. To add insult to injury, David made us pay for the taxi fare. In terms of guidance, it was a bit hard to hear David during the tour, but otherwise the tour was okay. He tried to make the awful taxi ride up to us by accompanying us (by BUS!) to the Temple of Heaven. We were very hopeful for this tour, but unfortunately cannot recommend David. For anyone who does get him, push the metro -- avoid those taxis!

Great way to see two major sights outside of the city
Alice Ji was an awesome guide and this tour was a great choice to see the two major sights in one day. Alice’s English was great and she and our driver were very knowledgable and willing to answer all of our random questions. The restaurant for lunch was delicious (try the mushrooms!). Everything was organized efficiently, from before tour communication to hotel pickup, lunch was ordered beforehand so there was no waiting and she did all of the legwork to get our tickets for attractions. Don’t forget to keep your ticket with you on the Great Wall to get back down and to bring your passport for entry to the Summer Palace. Thanks for a great day!

Perfect organized day trip!
It was a very interesting day trip. Jimmy is a great guide. Everything was good coordinated and on time. He gave us a lot of interesting information about the wall and the summer palace. It was also very good that he gave us the tip to start early to go to the wall so we avoided the mass of tourist. All in all a very good decision to book this tour. Pick up at hotel was also on time.

Great Tour with Vivian!
Vivian was an amazing guide! She was incredibly knowledgeable regarding the forbidden city. She provided plenty of facts and stories about the emperors that lived in the palace and showed me all the most interesting parts of the city. Thanks to her we were also able to skip all the queues. I was travelling by myself and it was my first day in Beijing so I was really appreciative that she took plenty of pictures of me in the forbidden city. She also taught me how to use the MTR, the buses and showed me great places to eat at!
